Information Version: 1.0

Introduction

This manual introduces the US2000 (VERSION B) from Pylontech. Please read this manual carefully before installing the battery and follow the instructions during the installation process. For any confusion, please contact Pylontech immediately for advice and clarification.

The US2000 (VERSION B) lithium iron phosphate battery is a new energy storage product developed and produced by Pylontech. It supports reliable power for various types of equipment and systems. The US2000 (VERSION B) is particularly suitable for high-power applications, limited installation spaces, restricted load-bearing capacities, and long cycle life requirements.

The US2000 (VERSION B) features a built-in Battery Management System (BMS) that manages and monitors cell information, including voltage, current, and temperature. The BMS also balances cell charging and discharging to extend cycle life. Multiple batteries can be connected in parallel to expand capacity and power for larger energy storage and longer power support duration needs.

Power Terminals

Power cable terminals have two pairs with the same function: one connects to equipment, and the other is for paralleling to another battery module for capacity expansion. For each single module, each terminal can achieve charging and discharging functions. Power cables use water-proofed AMPHENOL connectors. It is essential to keep pressing the [Lock Button] while pulling out the power plug.

Safety Warnings:

Emergency Situations:

Tools Required for Installation

Note: Use properly insulated tools to prevent accidental electric shock or short circuits. If insulated tools are not available, cover the entire exposed metal surfaces of the tools, except their tips, with electrical tape.

Recommended Safety Gear

Accessories

The type and quantity of accessories are subject to the battery packing list.

Accessories include:

Note: Power cables use water-proofed AMPHENOL connectors. It is essential to keep pressing the [Lock Button] while pulling out the power plug.

Installation

Package Items

Unpacking and Check the Packing List:

For battery module package:

For battery system connecting to inverter:

Note: These three long cables are not included in the battery package but are provided in a separate small cable box. If anything is missed, please contact the dealer.

Installation Location

Ensure the installation location meets the following conditions:

[Warning] If the ambient temperature is outside the operating range, the battery pack will stop operating to protect itself. The optimal temperature range for battery pack operation is 0°C to 50°C. Frequent exposure to harsh temperatures may deteriorate the performance and life of the battery pack.

Installation Steps

Place battery modules into the cabinet and connect the cables.

Cabinet Installation Steps:

  1. Put the battery into the cabinet.
  2. Drive the 4 screws.
  3. Connect the cables between battery modules.
  4. Connect the cables to the inverter.

Power On Procedure

Double-check all power and communication cables.

  1. Switch Power On: Switch on all battery modules. The green RUN LED light should illuminate.
  2. Master/Slave Configuration: The module with an empty Link Port 0 is the Master Battery Module; others are slaves.
  3. Master Battery Power On: Press the red button on the master battery to power on. All battery LED lights will illuminate one by one, starting from the master battery.

If all battery LED lights turn on and then off, it indicates the battery system is functioning correctly.

Installation with Bracket

Bracket Installation:

  1. Dismantle the 2 tabs on the battery.
  2. Dismantle 8 screws.
  3. Set the battery into 2 pcs Phantom Plus from front and back.
  4. Push the Phantom Plus to the end of the Stop Edge.

Stacking Batteries:

Aim the 4 pairs of Location Pins and Location Holes to stack the batteries together. Secure the 4 agraffes together.

Stacking Configurations:

Note: Cable connection and battery system start-up procedures are the same as for cabinet installation.

Troubleshooting Steps

Problem Determination Based On:

  1. Whether the battery can turn on or not.
  2. If the battery is turned on, check if the red light is off, flashing, or solid.
  3. If the red light is off, check whether the battery can charge/discharge.

Preliminary Determination Steps:

  1. Battery cannot turn on: All lights are off or not flashing. If the battery external switch is ON, the RUN light is flashing, and the external power supply voltage is 48V or more, but the battery still fails to turn on, please contact Pylontech.
  2. Battery can turn on, but red light is lit, and it cannot charge or discharge: If the red light is lit, it indicates an abnormal system. Check the following values:
    • Temperature: If the temperature is above 50°C or below -10°C, the battery may not work. Solution: Move the battery to the normal operating temperature range of -10°C to 50°C.
    • Current: If the current exceeds 100A, battery protection will activate. Solution: Check if the current is too high and adjust settings on the power supply side if necessary.
    • High Voltage: If the charging voltage is above 54V, battery protection will activate. Solution: Check if the voltage is too high and adjust settings on the power supply side if necessary.
    • Low Voltage: When the battery discharges to 44.5V or less, battery protection will activate. Solution: Charge the battery for some time until the red light turns off.

If the fault cannot be located after checking the above four points, turn off the battery and seek repair.

Emergency Situations

1. Leaking Batteries

If the battery pack leaks electrolyte, avoid contact with the leaking liquid or gas. If exposed to the leaked substance, immediately perform the following actions:

2. Fire

NO WATER! Only dry powder fire extinguishers can be used. If possible, move the battery pack to a safe area before it catches fire.

3. Wet Batteries

If the battery pack is wet or submerged in water, do not allow people to access it, and then contact Pylontech or an authorized dealer for technical support.

4. Damaged Batteries

Damaged batteries are dangerous and must be handled with the utmost care. They are not fit for use and may pose a danger to people or property. If the battery pack appears to be damaged, pack it in its original container and return it to Pylontech or an authorized dealer.

Note: Damaged batteries may leak electrolyte or produce flammable gas. If such damage occurs, please contact Pylontech at service@pylontech.com.cn.
