Quick Grip Function
The quick grip mechanism allows for easy and secure attachment of the roof box to the load carriers.
To open the quick grip: Turn the knob counter-clockwise until the orange indicator shows the open position.
To set the quick grips to the starting position: Slide them to the side.
Installation
Ensure your load carriers are installed with an internal distance of 700-800 mm, following the separate instructions for the load carriers.
- Lift the roof box onto the load carriers and open the roof box.
- Position the roof box as far back as possible without touching the tailgate. This improves stability and reduces wind noise.
- Tip: Ensure the roof box is straight and does not interfere with the tailgate.
- IMPORTANT: Make sure the roof box is facing forwards, with the front pointing towards the bonnet.
- NOTE: When using quick grips with plates, place the plates beneath the quick grips, inside the roof box. Use one plate for each quick grip.
Securing the Roof Box
- Install the quick grips around the load carrier.
- Ensure the load carrier is centered in the quick grip and that the grip surrounds the load carrier completely.
- Pull the quick grips together until they meet the load carrier.
- Lock the quick grip by turning the knob clockwise until you hear a click.
NOTE:
- After driving 10 km, re-tighten the quick grips clockwise until they click.
- Re-tighten the quick grips four times per year to ensure the roof box remains securely attached.
Distributing Loads
Distribute the load evenly within the roof box. The roof box is water-resistant but not waterproof.
NOTE:
- The total roof weight of the car must not be exceeded. Refer to the owner's manual for specific weight limits.
- Maximum permitted roof load = load carrier weight + roof box weight + load weight.
- Do not exceed the roof box's maximum weight limit of 75 kg.
Securing Loads
All loads inside the roof box must be secured using a tensioner band.
Thread the tension strap through the eyes at the bottom of the roof box.
A cargo net can be purchased separately for bulky, lightweight loads.
Closing the Roof Box
- Fold down the cover, lock, and remove the key.
- The roof box is properly closed when the cover encloses the lower end of the box and securely locks it.
- Fold in the lock cover to protect the lock.
Roof Box Lamp
The roof box lamp turns on automatically when the roof box is opened and switches off automatically after approximately 15 seconds.
You can also switch the lamp on by moving your hand under it.
NOTE: The battery's plastic tab must be removed for the lamp to function.
Replacing the Batteries
- Remove the lamp by pulling it to the side.
- Battery type: AAA.
