Installation Steps

Step 1: Mark Door with Template ✍️

Mark the door using the provided template. Ensure accurate placement for proper installation.

Step 2: Drill Holes ?️

Drill two holes in the door:

• A 2 1/8" (54 mm) hole for the deadbolt mechanism.
• A 1" (25 mm) hole for the bolt.

Alternatively, for a circular bolt, drill a 1 1/16" (27 mm) hole.

Step 3: Install Fire Cup ?

Install the fire cup. This step is specifically for UL-certified products and requires a 2 1/8" (54 mm) through bore.

Step 4: Install Deadbolt ?

Install the deadbolt mechanism into the door bore. If using a circular drive-in deadbolt, follow the specific instructions for its installation.

Step 5: Prepare Door Jamb ?

Prepare the door jamb by mortising for the strike plate. Ensure the correct dimensions are used for a proper fit.

Step 6: Install Strike Assembly ?

Install the strike assembly into the prepared door jamb. An optional strike is also shown.

Step 7: Size Driver Bar ?

Determine the correct length for the driver bar based on the door thickness. The instructions indicate whether to break or not break the bar to achieve the correct length.

Step 8: Install Outside Lock ?

Install the outside lock cylinder and mechanism onto the door. Ensure the latch is extended before proceeding.

Step 9: Install Mounting Plate ?️

Install the mounting plate. This step is for 1 1/2" (38 mm) through bore installations only. Pilot holes are recommended for wood doors.

Step 10: Install Thumbturn ?

Install the thumbturn mechanism on the interior side of the door. The thumbturn should be oriented horizontally.

Step 11: Replace Core ?

Replace the core mechanism. The diagram shows steel ball bearings within the mechanism.

⚠️ Important Notes

Do not use the metal shield in existing 1 1/2" (38 mm) hole installations. If using a pre-drilled 38mm hole, do not use the included metal shield.
