Exhaust Gases

WARNING: Do not operate this product indoors or in inadequately ventilated areas. Engine exhaust contains poisonous emissions and can cause serious injury or death.

Fuel Handling

DANGER: Fuel is VERY flammable. Use extreme care when mixing, storing, or handling fuel to prevent serious personal injury.

  • Mix and pour fuel outdoors where there are no sparks or flames.
  • Slowly remove the fuel cap only after stopping the engine.
  • Do not smoke while fueling or mixing fuel.

Assembly

T Model Assembly

Refer to Figure 1 for parts identification.

  1. Assemble "T" Model blower tubes:
    • Assemble Cable Clip (A) onto Clamp (B).
    • Install Clamp Assembly (A+B) onto the upper end of the Flexible Blower Tube (C).
    • Assemble Clamp (D) onto the lower end of the Flexible Blower Tube (C).
    • Before installing Throttle Control (F), allow it to hang freely from the blower to ensure the Throttle Cable (L) is not twisted.
  2. Assemble Throttle Control (F):
    • Position Throttle Cable (L) along the outside of the Elbow Blower Tube (H).
    • Loosen Screw Knob (K) and install Throttle Control (F) onto the Swivel Blower Tube (E). Tighten Screw Knob finger tight only.
  3. Assemble Static Discharge Wire (If Equipped):
    • Unwrap and fully extend the Static Discharge Wire (G) to insert it through the Flexible Blower Tube (C). Ensure enough slack is left for full rotation of the Elbow Blower Tube (H). The wire will hang freely inside the tubes.
  4. Secure Throttle Cable:
    • Secure Throttle Cable (L) into Cable Clip (A).
    • Position Throttle Control (F) to the desired position and tighten Screw Knob (K) hand tight.
  5. Assemble Straight Blower Tubes:
    • Assemble Straight Blower Tube (I) onto Swivel Blower Tube (E) until light resistance is felt. Turn clockwise to engage Posi-LocTM channels until firm. Do not force.
    • Assemble Nozzle Blower Tube (J) to Straight Blower Tube (I).
    • Note: Posi-LocTM tube design allows tubes to be re-tightened if they loosen over time.
  6. Install Air Intake Cover (M): Refer to the online Operator's Manual for installation if needed for cold weather operation.

H Model Assembly

Refer to Figure 2 for parts identification.

  1. Assemble "H" Model blower tubes:
    • Assemble Clamps (A & B) onto both ends of Flexible Blower Tube (C).
    • Assemble Swivel Blower Tube (D) onto Flexible Blower Tube (C) and tighten Clamp (B).
    • Assemble Flexible Blower Tube (C) onto Elbow Blower Tube (F) and tighten Clamp (A).
    • A light lubricant can ease assembly of tubes.
  2. Assemble Static Discharge Wire (If Equipped):
    • Unwrap and fully extend the Static Discharge Wire (J) to insert it through Flexible Blower Tube (C).
    • Assemble Flexible Blower Tube (C) onto Elbow Blower Tube (F) and tighten Clamp (A).
  3. Assemble "H" Model Front Handle Set (E):
    • Loosen Wing Nut (I) on the Front Handle Set (E) and expand the clamp to slide over the Swivel Blower Tube (D). Position for comfortable operation. Tighten Wing Nut (I).
    • For PB-760LN / PB-770 models, ensure the alignment groove in the Front Handle Set (E) aligns with metal strips on the Swivel Blower Tube (D).
  4. Assemble Straight Tubes:
    • Assemble Straight Blower Tube (G) onto Swivel Blower Tube (D) until light resistance is felt. Turn clockwise to engage Posi-LocTM channels until firm. Do not force.
    • Assemble Nozzle Blower Tube (H) to Straight Blower Tube (G).
    • Note: Posi-LocTM tube design allows tubes to be re-tightened if they loosen over time.

Fuel Handling

Use fresh fuel (purchased within the last 30 days) when fueling your ECHO product. Stored fuel ages. Do not mix more fuel than you expect to use within 30 days (90 days with stabilizer). Use a two-stroke engine oil meeting ISO-L-EGD and JASO FD standards.

Mixing Ratio: 50:1 (Fuel: Oil)

Fuel Options: Pre-Mixed Fuel, Premezclado, Pré-mélangé, Red Armor™ Fuel.

Starting Procedures

Cold Start

For all models, move Choke Lever to RUN position after starting. Allow engine to warm up in IDLE position for 3 minutes.

  • H Models: Move Throttle Lever to desired speed.
  • T Models: Use Throttle Trigger to select speed, or move Throttle Lever to IDLE or FAST.
  • If the engine does not start after 5 pulls, move Choke Lever to COLD START, push Purge, and repeat step 4.

Warm Start

For all models, move Throttle Lever to IDLE position and allow engine to return to idle before shutting off.

Stop Engine

Move Throttle Lever (A) to the IDLE position and allow the engine to return to idle before shutting off.

Maintenance

Idle Speed Adjustment

Carburetors are factory set to comply with emission regulations. Adjustments other than idle speed must be performed by an Authorized ECHO Dealer.

If a tachometer is available, set idle speed screw to specifications in the Operator's Manual. Clockwise increases idle speed; counterclockwise decreases it.

Emissions Control Components

Use of non-specified emission control components is a violation of federal law.

Air Filter

Close choke, remove air filter cover, clean air cleaner area, clean or replace filters if damaged.

Spark Plug

  • PB-256LN / PB-580 / PB-755LN / PB-770: Use NGK BPM8Y (BPMR8Y in Canada). Adjust gap to 0.65 mm (0.026 in).
  • PB-760LN: Use NGK BPM6Y (BPMR6Y in Canada). Adjust gap to 0.65 mm (0.026 in).

Fuel Filter Replacement

Use a clean rag to remove dirt around the fuel cap. Empty the fuel tank. Remove the fuel filter from the tank and line, and install a new one. Do not damage the fuel line.

Transportation

WARNING: Muffler and surrounding cover get hot. Keep exhaust area clear of flammable debris during transport or storage. Always secure the unit during transportation to prevent turnover, fuel spillage, and damage.

Storage

  • Short-term: Store in a dry, dust-free place, out of reach of children. Do not store where fuel fumes can accumulate or reach an open flame or spark.
  • Long-term (Over 30 Days): Place stop switch in "OFF". Clean exterior. Perform periodic maintenance. Tighten screws/nuts. Drain fuel and run unit until it stops. Allow engine to cool. Store in a dry, dust-free place.

CARB and EPA Emission Control Information

The engine's emission control system is EM (engine modification). If the second-to-last character of the Engine Family on the Emission Control Information label is B, C, K, or T, the system is EM and TWC (3-way catalyst). Fuel tank/line systems are EVAP (evaporative emissions).

Product Emission Durability: Certified for 50 or 300 hours, provided approved maintenance procedures are followed.

Service

Warranty service must be performed by an Authorized ECHO Service Dealer. Find your nearest dealer at www.echo-usa.com or by calling 1-800-432-ECHO (3246). Proof of purchase is required for warranty service.
