Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Cleaning
Clean ear pads and headphones with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not soak, submerge, or allow moisture to enter near the drivers or cable jacks. Replacement ear pads and cables can be purchased at www.masterdynamic.com.
Handling and Storage
- Do not drop, sit on, or expose the headphones to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
- It is recommended to store headphones in their case when not in use. To avoid damage, do not store other items in the canvas case with the headphones.
- CAUTION: Incorrectly rotating or over-rotating the earcups can damage the headphones.
Temperature Range
Operate and store the product within the temperature range of -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C). Charge the battery when the temperature is between 41°F and 104°F (5°C and 40°C).
Troubleshooting Streaming Interruptions
If experiencing streaming interruptions with certain devices, it may be a device-specific compatibility issue. To resolve, switch to HANDS FREE MODE and restart the headphones. This optimizes performance for multiple-device connections.
Factory Reset
Press the ACTIVE NOISE-CANCELLING (ANC) button and slide the BLUETOOTH® PAIRING switch (⭐) simultaneously for 5 seconds. The LED lights will flash red/white 4 times, and the headphones will then be reset.
Headphones and Device Do Not Pair
- Ensure the headphones are not connected to the charger. Cycle the power switch off and on.
- Turn Bluetooth® off and then on again on the source device.
- Turn off the Bluetooth® feature on any other device paired with the headphones.
- Slide the switch to ⭐ and hold until the white light flashes.
- Confirm "M&D MW65" is selected in the Bluetooth® device list.
No Audio or Poor Audio Quality from a Connected Bluetooth® Device
Move the device closer to the headphones, as physical objects between them can obstruct the signal. Try a different music application, another track, or a different audio device.
Prevention of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss
Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) is a preventable condition caused by exposure to excessive decibel (dB) levels. This harm to sensitive inner ear structures is irreversible and can affect people of all ages. Damage can occur from a single event or gradually over time. Exposure to sounds louder than 110 decibels in a single instance, or prolonged exposure over 85 decibels, can cause harm.
Indicators of NIHL include hearing loss and tinnitus (a constant ringing, buzzing, or roaring sensation). The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) offers a simple rule of thumb: avoid sound exposure that is “too loud, too close or too long.”
Here are some general references to sound levels in everyday life:
- Refrigerator humming: 45 dB
- Normal conversation: 60 dB
- City traffic: 85 dB
- Motorcycles: 95 dB
- MP3 player at full volume: 105 dB
- Sirens: 120 dB
- Firecrackers: 150 dB
