Installing the Model 1799

Control PCM 2-channel digital audio via push-buttons or optional 1794 volume knob. The adjustable timeout feature keeps demos quiet when not in use.

  • POWER INPUT
  • POWER OUTPUT
  • OPTICAL SOURCE AUDIO INPUT (PCM 2-CHANNEL)
  • OPTICAL SOURCE AUDIO OUTPUT

Control points are labeled as:

  • PSB 1: ACTIVATE
  • PSB 2: VOLUME DOWN

Volume Control

Using Push-Buttons

To control volume using push-buttons, connect (2-wire or 4-wire) momentary switches to each position's up and down port.

Using Volume Knob (Optional)

To control volume using a volume knob, connect a four-conductor encoder such as Audio Authority's Model 1794 to the four-pin encoder port at each position. Push the knob to mute audio.

Digital Audio Source

Connect a PCM 2-channel source to the Optical input jack. Connect the Optical Output to the soundbar.

Power

Connect the included 12V power supply to the Power Input. A 5.5 mm jumper cable can be used to connect to other 1799 units if desired.

Timeout Interval

In switching mode, a demo timer is initiated each time a customer selects a product output for audition. The demonstration length is set by the timeout switch, in increments of 15 seconds. If the timeout switch is set to 0, the demonstration does not time out.
