Overview

The SodaStream COOL/JET Sparkling Water Maker allows you to easily create sparkling water at home. It consists of the main unit, a CO2 Cylinder, and a Carbonating Bottle.

Diagram Description: The Sparkling Water Maker unit is depicted with key components labeled: Carbonating Button, Tilt Lever, Carbonating Tube, Back Cover Tabs (one on each side), and Back Cover.

System Components

Your Sparkling Water Maker is designed to work with specific SodaStream components:

  • SodaStream CO2 Cylinders: Available in 60L and 130L sizes. The 60L cylinder makes up to 60L of sparkling water, while the 130L cylinder makes up to 130L, depending on carbonation level and machine type. The 130L cylinder is compatible with some Jet™ machine versions.
  • SodaStream Reusable Carbonating Bottles: Compatible bottles include the 0.5L Fuse and 1L Classic. Actual bottle shapes may differ.

Setup: Installing the CO₂ Cylinder

Follow these steps to install the CO2 Cylinder:

  1. Place the Sparkling Water Maker on a flat, sturdy surface and remove the back cover.
  2. Remove the seal and cap from the SodaStream CO2 Cylinder. WARNING: Never insert or replace the CO2 Cylinder while a Plastic Carbonating Bottle is installed. This could cause the bottle to be ejected or burst. Tilt the Sparkling Water Maker forward and insert the CO2 Cylinder into the back of the unit.
  3. Gently raise the CO2 Cylinder and tighten by turning to the right until it is firmly held in place. WARNING: Hand-tighten only. Do not use tools, as this can damage the Sparkling Water Maker or CO2 Cylinder, potentially leading to uncontrolled CO2 flow, bottle burst, and personal injury or property damage.
  4. Reinstall the back cover. Your machine is now ready to create bubbles.

SodaStream CO₂ Screw System Cylinder

Please note that the SodaStream Jet™/Cool™ is compatible with the SodaStream CO2 Screw System Cylinder and is NOT compatible with the SodaStream Quick Connect Cylinder.

Create the Bubbles

Follow these steps to carbonate your water:

  1. Fill the Plastic Carbonating Bottle with cold water up to the fill line. WARNING: Carbonate only water. Other liquids can contaminate internal parts, potentially causing excessive pressure, bottle failure, and serious injury. Never carbonate after flavouring has been added.
  2. Insert the Carbonating Bottle: Press the tilt lever and screw the Carbonating Bottle into the Sparkling Water Maker. Ensure you do not pull the carbonating tube. WARNING: Never use the Sparkling Water Maker with a broken carbonating tube, as this can cause excessive pressure, bottle failure, and serious injury.
  3. To carbonate, press the carbonating button in short 1-second presses. Use 3 presses for standard carbonation and 5 presses for strong carbonation.
  4. When the desired level of carbonation is achieved, press the tilt lever. This releases the pressure in the Plastic Carbonating Bottle. Unscrew and remove the bottle from the Sparkling Water Maker. WARNING: Do not remove the Plastic Carbonating Bottle until you hear the sound of excess CO2 being released. Attempting to remove it while still pressurized can cause uncontrolled ejection and result in serious injury.

Note: Small pieces of ice may appear in the water during carbonation of very cold water; any ice created will simply melt.
