2. Intended Use

This air humidifier is intended to humidify the air indoors.

WARNING:

  • This device is not intended for use by people (including children) with restricted physical, sensory, or mental skills or a lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed, for their own safety, by a person who is familiar with the device.
  • Children should be supervised around the device to ensure they do not play with it.
  • The device is only intended for the purpose described in these instructions for use. The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from improper or careless use.

3. Getting to Know Your Instrument

Humans spend a large proportion of their time indoors. For ideal ambient air, a humidity level of between 40% and 60% is recommended. This value is often not reached, particularly in winter, when cold, dry air enters living spaces that are being aired and is then warmed up. This dry ambient air draws in moisture, drying out mucous membranes and skin, but also furniture.

Effects of Dry Ambient Air:

  • Mucous membranes and lips dry out
  • Eyes become irritated
  • Infections and respiratory diseases are more likely to occur
  • Exhaustion, tiredness, and difficulty concentrating
  • Pets and plants are put under unnecessary strain
  • Dust forms more quickly
  • Electrostatic charging of textiles made of synthetic fibres, such as carpets and plastic floor coverings
  • Wooden furniture and, especially, parquet floors, are damaged
  • Musical instruments go out of tune

With this air humidifier, you can bring additional humidity into the ambient air – everywhere: at home, on the move, or in the office. You only require a standard plastic water bottle that you use as a water tank with the adapter provided. For this reason, and due to its compact size, this air humidifier can be taken with you when you travel and mounted on a small surface. With the storage pouch, all of the accessories are always close at hand.

4. Unit Description

The air humidifier consists of the following parts:

  • 1. Mist outlet: The nozzle from which the mist is released.
  • 2. Top: The upper part of the unit that holds the mist outlet and bottle adapter.
  • 3. Bottle adapter: Connects the water bottle to the unit. Two adapters are provided for different bottle threads.
  • 4. Power supply unit: Converts mains power for the device.
  • 5. Air outlet: Where air is drawn into the unit.
  • 6. Draining outlet: Used for emptying water from the base.
  • 7. LED: Indicator light for operation status.
  • 8. Ultrasonic membrane: Vibrates to create the mist.
  • 9. Base: The main body of the unit containing the water reservoir and electronics.
  • 10. Control dial: Used to turn the device on/off and adjust mist output.
  • 11. Connector socket for power supply unit: Port for connecting the power adapter.
  • 12. Cleaning brush: Tool for cleaning the ultrasonic membrane.

5. Operation

IMPORTANT: Never touch the ultrasonic membrane during operation.

  • Do not add any essential oils or fragrances to the water, as this would damage the ultrasonic source.
  • Operate the air humidifier only when it has been completely assembled and is fully functioning.
  • Use a plastic bottle no larger than 0.5 litres or fill a bottle with a maximum of 0.5 litres. Otherwise, the raised water pressure may cause the air humidifier to overflow.
  • Operate the air humidifier only with the top and mist outlet mounted to avoid splashing in the vicinity.
  • Never use liquids other than water.
  • Please observe the safety notes and the additional notes to avoid damage.

Initial Use:

  • Remove all packaging material.
  • Check the device, mains plug, and cable for damage.
  • Place the air humidifier on an even, firm, flat, and humidity-resistant surface. Ensure that the air humidifier cannot be knocked over.
  • Position the air humidifier in a raised place, e.g., a table, chest of drawers, chair, or bedside table. To avoid damage from escaping mist, the device must not be placed on the floor.
  • Ensure the top is placed firmly on the base. Pull the mist outlet upwards until it noticeably engages. You may need to overcome initial resistance with a firm tug.
  • Make sure that the escaping mist is not directed at the bottle, wall, plug socket, or other objects, and that the air outlet always remains free.
  • Fill a 0.5 litre plastic water bottle with clean tap water, distilled water, or still water. Do not use carbonated water. The manufacturer expressly recommends using distilled water to avoid limescale. The water temperature may be a maximum of 50°C to avoid damage to the device.
  • Fasten a bottle adapter onto the bottle. Two adapters are available that fit most standard plastic bottles:
    • 1. "PC 1810" thread with a thread diameter of 28 mm
    • 2. "30/25" thread with a thread diameter of 30 mm
  • Turn the bottle upside down and place it in the top of the air humidifier. Do not compress the plastic bottle. The base will fill with water automatically.
  • Connect the power supply unit connector plug with the connector socket of the air humidifier and insert the power supply unit into the socket. Ensure that the cable does not pose a trip hazard.
  • Turn the control dial clockwise (to the right) to switch on the air humidifier.

Using the Device and Switching Off:

IMPORTANT:

  • The immediate vicinity of the air humidifier may become damp. Reduce the nebulisation performance or place the device in a more suitable location.
  • Calcareous water can leave white deposits. Use distilled water instead.
  • If the device accidentally tips over, water may escape, even if the device is switched off and unplugged.
  • Check the humidity of your ambient air regularly. Intensive continuous operation can cause the ambient air to become excessively humid. The relative air humidity should not exceed 60%.
  • By turning the control dial to the right, you can adjust the nebulisation performance between "MIN" and "MAX".
  • During operation, the device and the water in the base will warm up.
  • To switch the air humidifier on again, turn the control dial to the left.
  • The device automatically switches off if the water runs out.
  • Switch off the device when refilling the bottle with water. Change the water in the bottle every day so that fresh water is always taken in.
  • Switch off the device and pull out the plug when you are not using the air humidifier.
  • Empty any remaining water when the device is not in use.

6. Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage

Weekly cleaning and disinfection is a requirement for fault-free and hygienic operation.

WARNING: Switch off the air humidifier each time before cleaning. Pull the plug out of the mains socket.

IMPORTANT:

  • Never submerge the base in water.
  • Empty the water from the base unit via the side rim. Ensure that no water gets inside the device, e.g., via the air outlet or the control dial.
  • Completely clean the bottle and the air humidifier if the device has not been used for over three days.
  • Clean the device using only the specified methods.
  • Do not use any solvent-based cleaning products.
  • Use only a mild detergent or vinegar/vinegar-based cleaner for cleaning or disinfection work.

Clean all parts that come into contact with water on a weekly basis. Let the device cool down for approx. 60 minutes.

Completely remove the mist outlet, then remove the top in an upward direction.

  • Make sure that the ultrasonic membrane always remains free from limescale to ensure a long service life. Always use the cleaning brush for this purpose and apply standard descaling agents. Let the descaling agent work for as long as is required to dissolve all limescale and dirt deposits. To avoid damaging the ultrasonic membrane, never scrape with sharp, hard objects. Rinse out the base if necessary.
  • Wipe the interior of the base with a cloth. Use a mild cleaning product. Rinse out the base if necessary.
  • Wipe the exterior housing of the base with a damp cloth.
  • Clean all removable parts, such as the bottle, bottle adapter, mist outlet, and top, with a mild detergent or vinegar/vinegar-based cleaner. Clean the parts thoroughly, particularly the bottle.
  • Bottle adapter, mist outlet, and top are dishwasher-safe.

Dry the parts with a soft cloth and only reassemble them when they are completely dry. For storage and easy transport, e.g., for travel, a storage pouch is available.
