Overview

The NSP-75 series is a 75W AC/DC power supply with PFC function, designed for high reliability and suitability for multiple industries. It features a compact size (99*97*30 mm) for efficient space utilization, an ultra-wide input range of 85~305Vac for global compatibility, and low standby power consumption (<0.3W~0.5W) for energy saving. Key features include a constant current design with 200% peak power capability (for 12~60V models), a fanless design for quiet operation, and a wide operating temperature range from -40 to +85°C (with derating above +60°C). It offers compliance with OVCIII, built-in Remote Control, internal PCB coating, and comprehensive safety certifications for various fields including ITE, Medical, Household, and Industrial applications. With extremely low leakage current (<350μA) and 2 x MOPP compliance, it is suitable for BF-rated medical equipment. The series comes with a 5-year warranty, making it a cost-effective solution for industrial power supply needs.

The NSP-75 series complies with numerous international safety and EMC standards, including:

MTBF: Minimum 2163.5 K hrs (Telcordia SR-332) or 250.4 K hrs (MIL-HDBK-217F at 25°C).

Functional Description

Block Diagram

The power supply operates with an input stage including EMI Filter and Rectifiers, followed by a PFC Circuit. Power Switching is controlled by PWM & PFC Control. The output stage consists of Rectifiers & Filter, feeding into a Constant Current & Detection Circuit that monitors Overload (OLP), Over Temperature (OTP), and Over Voltage (OVP) conditions. A Remote Control (R.C.) function is also integrated.

Key frequencies: PFC fosc: 110KHz, PWM fosc: 80KHz.

Output terminals are +Vo, -Vo, and R.C.

Peak Power Capability

The NSP-75 series can provide peak power for short durations. The average output power (Pav) is calculated based on peak output power (Ppk), non-peak output power (Pnpk), peak power width (t), and period (T). The duty cycle for peak power is limited (e.g., ≤ 35% for t ≤ 5 sec). For example, a 24V model can deliver 150W (200% of rated power) for up to 5 seconds with a duty cycle of 5%, provided the non-peak power is less than 71W.

Note: When the output voltage is adjusted to its upper limit, the peak power capability is 150% of the rated power.

Remote Control Function

The power supply can be turned ON/OFF remotely using an external switch and an auxiliary power source.

Performance Characteristics

Derating Curves

Derating Curve (100/110/115/120Vac System, 85~135Vac): The graph shows that the load capacity (in %) is reduced at ambient temperatures above 50°C, with full load (100%) available up to approximately 45-50°C, and derating occurring towards 85°C. Peak power (up to 150% or 200%) is available for shorter durations within specific temperature ranges.

Derating Curve (220/230/240/277Vac System, 180~305Vac): The graph indicates that full load (100%) is available up to approximately 70°C, with derating occurring towards 85°C. Peak power is also available within specified limits.

Note: Below 100Vac at -30°C, a restart situation may occur within 3 seconds after power-on.

Output Derating vs. Input Voltage

The graph illustrates that the output load capacity (in %) remains at 100% across the typical input voltage range from 85Vac up to 305Vac, indicating stable performance across the wide input range.
