The NSP-150 series offers various models with different DC output voltages (e.g., 5V, 7.5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, 27V, 36V, 48V, 60V) and corresponding current ratings.
Safety and EMC Compliance
The NSP-150 series meets numerous international safety standards including IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, IEC/EN 60601-1 (3.2 Version), IEC/EN 61558-1/-2-16, IEC/EN 60335-1, IEC/EN 62477-1, and IEC/EN 61010-1/-2-201. It also complies with EMC standards such as BS EN/EN55032 (Class B conducted and radiated emissions) and BS EN/EN61000-4 series for immunity. Isolation levels include 2xMOPP (Primary-Secondary), 1xMOPP (Primary-Earth), and 1xMOPP (Secondary-Earth). Over Voltage Categories (OVC) II and III are supported depending on the specific standard and altitude.
Functional Features
Remote Control
Allows the power supply to be turned ON/OFF using an external switch or signal connected to the RC+ and RC- terminals on CN1. The PSU is ON when RC+ and RC- are shorted or a low voltage (0-0.8Vdc) is applied. It is OFF when a voltage of 3.3-10Vdc is applied between RC+ and RC-.
Remote Sense
This feature compensates for voltage drops along the load wiring, ensuring accurate output voltage at the load terminals. It can compensate for voltage drops up to 0.3Vdc.
DC OK Signal
A collector-shorted signal indicating the output status. When the PSU is ON and operating normally, the DC OK signal is conducted (low impedance). When the PSU is OFF or in an abnormal state, the signal is open (high impedance).
Diagram Descriptions
Block Diagram
The block diagram illustrates the internal architecture of the NSP-150 power supply. It shows the signal path starting from the input stage, which includes an EMI Filter and Rectifiers, feeding into a PFC Circuit. This is followed by Power Switching controlled by PWM & PFC Control. The output stage comprises Rectifiers & Filter, leading to a Constant Current & Detection Circuit. Various protection circuits (OLP, OTP, OVP) are integrated. Control signals are managed via Remote Control, Remote Sense (RS+, RS-), and a DC OK signal.
Derating Curves
Derating curves show the relationship between output load capacity and ambient temperature.
- For 85-135Vac Input: The power supply can operate at 100% load up to approximately 50°C, after which derating occurs, reaching 0% load at 85°C.
- For 180-305Vac Input: The power supply maintains 100% load capability up to a higher ambient temperature, around 60°C, before derating begins, reaching 0% load at 85°C.
Peak Power
The "Peak Power" functionality allows the power supply to deliver power exceeding its rated output for specific durations. It defines average output power (Pav), peak output power (Ppk), non-peak output power (Pnpk), rated output power (Prated), peak power width (t), and period (T). A graph illustrates the allowable duty cycle (%) versus peak output power (W). An example calculation for a 24V model demonstrates how to determine the non-peak output power based on peak power and duty cycle.
Mechanical Specifications
