The package for your Comwave SR515 Internet Modem typically includes the following items:
- SR515 Internet Modem
- Ethernet Cable
- Power Adapter (12V Output)
- Telephone Cord
Note: Items may not be exactly as shown.
Port Descriptions on the Modem:
- 1 DSL
- Used to connect your Internet Modem to your Internet Line using the Telephone Cord supplied.
- 2 LAN
- Used to connect to your computer using the Ethernet Cable supplied.
- 3 WAN
- Currently not supported.
- 4 DC 12V
- Used to connect to a power source using the Power Adapter supplied.
LED Light Indicators
The Comwave SR515 modem features several indicator lights on its front and top panels. Upon completion of setup, the following LED lights should be illuminated:
- DSL
- Internet
- WAN
- Power
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi
- 5GHz Wi-Fi
The modem also has physical buttons: a Power Button, a Wireless ON/OFF Button, and a WPS Button (which is not supported).
Installation Step-by-Step
Follow these steps to install your Comwave Internet Modem:
- [STEP 1] To begin installation, shut down your computer.
- [STEP 2] Connect the Comwave Internet Modem to the phone jack using the supplied telephone cord.
- [STEP 3] Connect the supplied Ethernet Cable from a LAN port of the Comwave Internet Modem to your computer.
- [STEP 4] For Home Phone Users: Connect the supplied Ethernet cable from a LAN port of your Comwave Internet Modem to the WAN port of the Home Phone Adapter.
- [STEP 5] Connect the Comwave Internet Modem to a power outlet. Please allow up to 5 minutes for your modem to be operational.
- [STEP 6] For Home Phone Users: Connect a telephone to the PHONE 1 port on the Home Phone Adapter. Then, connect power to the Home Phone Adapter and wait 5 minutes for a dial-tone. DO NOT DISCONNECT POWER from the Home Phone Adapter, as it may cause damage.
- [STEP 7] Start your computer. You should be able to browse the Internet instantly.
Can't Access the Internet?
If you are unable to access the internet after installation, follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Unplug the power from your Comwave Internet modem, home phone adapter, and shut down your computer.
- Wait 30 seconds, then plug your Comwave Internet modem's power cord back into the power outlet.
- Wait until the LED indicators on your Comwave Internet modem indicate that the modem is operational. This process may take up to 5 minutes.
- Start your computer and plug in the home phone adapter into a power outlet.
- Open your web browser and attempt to surf the Internet. Check for a dial tone.

Wi-Fi Settings
The network name (SSID) and password for your Wi-Fi are printed on the back of the modem. You have two network options to choose from: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 5GHz network generally offers superior performance.
If you wish to change your network name (SSID) and password, please visit comwave.net/support-internet/.
Advanced Wi-Fi Settings
For advanced users who want to customize their network name and/or password, please follow the steps below:
- [STEP 1] Open your internet browser and type http://192.168.17.1 into the address bar.
- [STEP 2] Enter your Username and Password, then click LOGIN to proceed.
- [STEP 3] Click on "Wi-Fi" in the local network menu located on the left side of the screen, as shown in the interface.
- [STEP 4] Exercise caution when making any changes to the network settings.
- [STEP 5] Click "Save" to apply your modifications.
The Comwave Control Panel interface allows for detailed configuration of your wireless network, including changing the Network Name (SSID), Passphrase (password), Security settings (e.g., WPA2), and Broadcast SSID status for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
