Safety Instructions
Please read and follow all safety instructions carefully to avoid malfunctions, damage, and personal injury. Always observe the general safety notes and the specific notes provided.
General Safety
- Read this manual carefully and use the saw only as instructed.
- Dispose of packaging material safely, out of reach of children.
- The saw is intended for cutting branches, slats, hard and soft wood for private use only. Not for professional continuous use.
- Keep out of reach of children. It is not a toy.
- Persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities should only use the saw under supervision or with proper instruction.
- Children and adolescents are not permitted to operate the saw, except for supervised training for those over 16.
- Note all warning symbols; they indicate important safety instructions. Failure to comply can result in serious injury!
- Operate the saw with only one person at a time. Ensure bystanders are not in the work area.
- Check the safe operating condition of the saw, especially the guide bar and chain, before each use.
- Maintain a stable footing while working.
- Hold the machine firmly and securely when switching on.
- Ensure the guide bar and saw chain are free and do not contact the workpiece when switched on.
- Keep hands away from the sawing area. Do not reach under the workpiece. Contact with the saw chain can cause serious injury.
- Guide the saw onto the workpiece only when switched on. Otherwise, there is a risk of kick-back if the chain gets caught.
- Ensure the base plate always contacts the workpiece during sawing to prevent chain jamming and loss of control.
- After finishing, switch off the saw and only remove the chain from the cut after it has stopped completely to avoid kick-back.
- Clamp material securely. Do not support the workpiece with hands or feet. Do not touch objects or the ground with the running saw. Risk of kick-back.
- Use a stable support (e.g., sawhorse) for sawing timber and thin branches. Do not stack timber.
- Secure logs before sawing.
- When working on slopes, always face uphill.
- Be cautious when cutting splintered wood; splinters can be thrown by the chain, increasing injury risk.
- Foreign objects (nails, screws, metal, sand) cause increased wear on the guide bar and chain.
- A blunt chain can cause overheating and motor damage.
- Always remove the battery when checking/adjusting chain tension, mounting the chain, or troubleshooting. Remove battery if not using the device temporarily.
Battery and Charger Safety
WARNING: Lithium-ion batteries pose a fire, burn, and explosion hazard if not used, stored, or charged correctly.
- Use the charger only with a 230 V mains supply.
- Follow charger usage instructions before charging.
- Do not use the charger with batteries other than those supplied. Keep the charger clean to prevent short circuits and overheating.
- Allow batteries to cool for 15 minutes after charging or heavy use.
- Recharge only with manufacturer-specified chargers. Using a charger for a different battery type can cause fire. Charge only with the supplied or specifically designed charger.
- Use only designated batteries with the machine. Other batteries can cause injury and fire.
- If the charger cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized workshop, or a specialist.
- Keep batteries out of reach of children.
- Store batteries in a dry place at room temperature (approx. 20°C) when not in use.
- Keep unused batteries away from metal objects (paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws) that could short-circuit terminals, causing burns or fire.
- Avoid contact with battery leakage fluid. Rinse with water if contact occurs. Seek medical attention if fluid gets into eyes. Leakage can cause skin irritation or burns.
- Protect batteries and charger from moisture. Do not operate the charger outdoors.
- Unplug the charger when not in use, before cleaning or maintenance.
- Handle batteries carefully: do not drop, subject to pressure, mechanical stress, extreme heat or cold. Do not open, disassemble, crush, heat above 60°C, or incinerate. Do not dispose of in fire.
- Use only original accessories and spare parts.
- Do not modify the saw.
- If the saw is damaged, stop using it and have it repaired by a professional or contact customer support. Do not disassemble or attempt self-repair.
- The machine is designed for use up to 2000 m altitude.
- Avoid complacency from frequent use; careless actions can cause severe injury.
- Keep handles and grip surfaces dry, clean, and free from grease/oil. Slippery surfaces impair safe handling.
