This document provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your VALBERG tumble dryer.
Safety Information
General Guidelines:
- Always consult the appliance's operating instructions for cleaning and maintenance details.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, provided they are supervised or have received instructions on safe usage and understand the risks involved.
- Children should not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
- Follow installation precautions as outlined in the operating instructions.
- The power socket must remain accessible, or a switch must be installed in the fixed wiring system, allowing for disconnection from the power supply network under all circumstances.
- If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales department, or similarly qualified persons to avoid danger.
Specific Instructions:
- This appliance is designed to dry a maximum mass of dry laundry in kilograms, as indicated on the sheet attached to the instructions.
- Do not use the appliance if chemicals have been used for cleaning.
- If a fluff collector (textile lint) is included, it must be cleaned frequently.
- Do not allow fluff (textile lint) to accumulate around the appliance.
- Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent the backflow of gases from appliances burning other fuels, including open fires, into the room.
- Do not dry unwashed items in the appliance.
- Items soiled with substances like cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, stain removers, turpentine, wax, or wax removal substances should be washed in hot water with an extra amount of washing powder before being dried in the appliance.
- Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber-lined items, and clothing or pillows with foam rubber parts should not be dried in the appliance.
- Use fabric softeners or similar products in accordance with their instructions.
- Remove all items such as lighters and matches from pockets.
- CAUTION: Never stop the appliance before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out to dissipate heat.
Additional Precautions
- CAUTION: The power to the appliance must not pass through an external switch, like a timer, or be connected to a circuit that is regularly turned on and off by the utility provider.
- Children under 3 years old should be kept away unless they are constantly supervised.
- If the appliance has vents or ventilation openings at its base, these openings must not be blocked by a carpet.
- If the appliance exhausts air outside the room (e.g., a vented dryer with a duct connected to the outside), the exhausted air must not be evacuated into an exhaust used for fumes discharged from appliances burning gas or other fuels.
- The appliance must not be installed behind a locking door, a sliding door, or a door with a hinge on the opposite side of the appliance, which would prevent it from opening fully.
- If the appliance is equipped with a hermetic motor-compressor refrigeration system (e.g., a condensing dryer with a heat pump): Refer to the device operating instructions for details on installation, handling, and maintenance. For disposal, refer to the chapter 'WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR WASTE?'.
- CAUTION: Do not obstruct the vents in the housing of the appliance or surrounding structure.
- CAUTION: Do not damage the refrigeration circuit.
- The standard cotton programme is suitable for drying normally damp cotton textiles.
- It is the most energy-efficient programme for drying damp cotton textiles.
- The term ECO can be used to identify this programme.
- This appliance is only intended for drying damp textiles that have been washed and spun in a washing machine in a domestic setting.
- This appliance is only intended for domestic use.
- It is not suitable for use in similar applications such as: Kitchen areas reserved for staff in stores, offices, and other professional environments; Farms; Use by guests in hotels, motels, and other residential environments; Bed-and-breakfast type environments; Locations intended for collective use in apartment buildings.
- The device should not be transported alone.
- WARNING: Keep packing materials and accessories out of the reach of children. Never let children play with the packaging or accessories.
- DANGER: Never use the appliance outdoors.
- Do not install the appliance on a carpet or similar floor covering.
- WARNING: Remove the drum immobilisation clamps at the rear of the appliance, if present. These safety screws are only needed when transporting the appliance and must be removed before the appliance is used for the first time, at the risk of causing damage not covered by the warranty.
- WARNING: The appliance must be connected to a mains socket with a protective earth connection.
- The appliance must not be connected via an extension cable or power strip.
- ATTENTION: Do not bend, crush, or pinch the power supply cable. Leave enough space behind the appliance so that it is not in direct contact with the mains socket.
- DANGER: Do not connect the appliance to the mains with wet hands, as this could cause an electric shock.
- DANGER: If the laundry has been pre-treated with cleaning products containing solvents, this may cause an explosion in the appliance. Rinse the pre-treated laundry thoroughly with water before drying.
- Always check the labels on the clothing before adding them in the appliance; otherwise, they may get damaged.
- Always check and remove any objects from the pockets of clothing before adding the item to the appliance.
- Depending on the appliance, the final phase of the appliance's drying cycle is done without heat (cooling cycle) so that the items are kept at a temperature that won't damage them.
- Any cleaning and/or in-depth maintenance work done on the appliance must be conducted with the electrical outlet disconnected.
- Do not use a steam cleaner when cleaning the appliance.
- In the event of a malfunction that cannot be resolved with the information provided in this manual, please contact the after-sales service.

- Appliance under warranty: Request support for your device through the above website or call the service using the phone number specified on your sales receipt/invoice. The warranty is set at a minimum of 2 years* after the purchase of the new appliance and covers shipment costs, professional work, and spare parts. (*Excluding peace of mind warranty or extended warranty.)
- Appliance out of warranty and self-repair: The same procedure as for an appliance under warranty can be followed, but costs are no longer covered. For France only: Other repair and troubleshooting professionals are available via www.annuaire-reparation.fr.

What to do with your waste?
Please observe the following rules to reduce the environmental impact of your purchase:
- You are legally responsible for sorting for recycling the product (including any accessories), its manual(s), and packaging elements.
- An electrical or electronic device must not be sorted or recycled with other household waste.
- Never leave used products and packaging materials available to children as they can be hazardous.
- Please keep the manual(s) throughout the life of the appliance and attach this documentation to the appliance when it is transferred to a third party.
