Mounting and Installation

Ferrite Core Mounting

For optimal performance and to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI), a ferrite core is included in the kit. To install, wrap the device wires around the ferrite core once (1 turn).

Dipswitch Settings

Dipswitches are used for reader address and RS-485 bus termination configuration.

SW 1: Reader Address Configuration

  • Reader Address 0: Switch 1 OFF. Used for Doors 1.0 and 2.0, or one of two readers on a door.
  • Reader Address 1: Switch 1 ON. Used for Doors 1.1 and 2.1, or the second of two readers on a door.

SW 2: RS-485 120 OHM Termination
