Router Setup Steps

01 Prepare your Modem

  1. Unplug the power of your cable/DSL modem. If it has a battery backup, remove the battery.
  2. Connect your modem to the WAN port at the back of the router using the provided network cable.
  3. Power on the modem. Plug the modem into the power outlet and power it on.
  4. Check the modem LED lights to ensure the connection is active.

If you are using DSL for internet, you will need your username/password from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to properly configure your router.

02 Install your Router

  1. Plug the adapter into the DCIN port, and press the Power switch.
  2. The power LED will light up when the hardware is ready.

Connect to the Internet

Via App

  1. On your iOS or Android mobile device, go to the app store, search for "ASUS Router", and download the app.
  2. Connect to the default network SSID shown on the product label on the back of the router (e.g., "ASUS_XX", where XX refers to the last two digits of the MAC address). Alternatively, scan the QR code on the product label to connect to the default network SSID.
  3. Launch the ASUS Router App and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Via Web Browser

  1. Connect your PC to a LAN port at the back of the router using an additional network cable. Alternatively, connect wirelessly to the network using the default SSID shown on the product label on the back of your router.
  2. Open a web browser. You will be redirected to the ASUS Setup Wizard. If not, navigate to http://www.asusrouter.com.
  3. Follow the instructions to complete the setup.

Gain Another 10GE LAN Port

Set up 2.5GE WAN connection to release another 10GE LAN Port

Connect the modem to the 2.5GE WAN port with a network cable.

In the ASUS Setup Wizard:

  1. Select "Manual Setting".
  2. Select "2.5G WAN", then follow the instructions to complete the setup of SSID and login information.

Start to Use

After following the setup steps, the router will reboot briefly and start to connect to the Internet via the 2.5GE port.
