Paradox RPT1+ Wireless Repeater Module

Installation Manual

Introduction

The RPT1+ Wireless Repeater module enhances the range of Paradox Magellan and RTX3 systems when used with any Spectra SP control panel. It achieves this by retransmitting information from zones, PGMs, wireless keypads, and the control panel. Wireless sirens are not compatible with the RPT1+. All remote control signals are always repeated by the RPT1+. Systems can accommodate up to two RPT1+ units (refer to the appropriate programming guide for instructions). The Wireless Repeater also offers one zone input with two-way wireless communication capabilities.

Installation

  1. Record the serial number and location of the RPT1+ for later entry into the Paradox BabyWare software.
  2. Ensure the RPT1+ is installed in a location free of obstacles.
  3. Connect the Li-ion battery.
  4. Connect to a 12-24 Vac transformer or a 12-24 Vdc power supply.
  5. Connect hardwired zones to input Z1 and COM.

Note: If a trouble tamper is desired, the RPT1 zone (Z1) must be programmed in the panel.

  6. Set jumper JP1: ON for Normally Closed Zones (default) or OFF for Normally Open Zones.
  7. Register the zone by entering the RPT1+'s serial number in the appropriate system Zone Serial Number section or by using the Installer Quick Menu.

Note: Do not cut, bend, or alter the antenna. Avoid mounting the RPT1+ on metal surfaces or in locations prone to RF interference. Mount the unit as high as possible, in areas not subject to drastic temperature changes. Ensure at least 5 cm (2 inches) of clearance around the module for adequate ventilation and heat dissipation.
