Cockpit Overview
This section details the primary controls and displays found in the E-Class Cabriolet cockpit.
- Seat Functions: Electrically adjust seats, seat heating, seat ventilation, front passenger seat adjustment, and memory presets.
- Light Switch: Controls exterior and interior lighting.
- Driver Assistance Systems: Buttons for Active Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Parking Assist (PARKTRONIC). Note: Button placement may vary based on equipment. Includes Head-up Display controls.
- Multifunction Steering Wheel Control Panels: Panels on the steering wheel for various functions.
- DIRECT SELECT Lever: Gear selector.
- Multimedia System Display: Main screen for infotainment and vehicle information.
- Climate Control Rocker Switches: Direct controls for automatic climate settings.
- Multimedia System Direct Buttons: Quick access buttons for Navigation (NAVI), Radio (RADIO), Media (MEDIA), Telephone (TEL), and Vehicle menus.
- Multimedia System Controller: Used for volume adjustment (press to mute) and navigating menus. Can also switch the multimedia system on/off.
- Multimedia System Main Menu Button: Accesses the main menu.
- Back Button: Returns to the previous screen or menu.
- Multimedia System Touchpad: Touch-sensitive surface for navigating the multimedia system.
- Cabriolet Functions: Controls for the soft top (AIRCAP) and operates all side windows.
- Driving Functions: DYNAMIC SELECT for drive modes, Vehicle level adjustment, Active Parking Assist, and ECO start/stop function.
- Start/Stop Button: Engine start/stop.
- Electric Parking Brake: Engages and disengages the parking brake.
- Trunk Lid Control: Button to open or close the trunk lid.
- Door Control Panel: Includes controls for power windows, exterior mirror adjustment, and a feature to override rear side window operation.
- Door Handle: Locks and unlocks the vehicle centrally.
Overhead Control Panel:
- Buttons for interior lighting and reading light.
- Button for Mercedes me connect* (Mercedes-Benz emergency call system).

Controls on the Steering Wheel
The multifunction steering wheel provides access to various vehicle functions.
Lever on Steering Wheel
This combination switch controls turn signals, high beam, and windshield wipers.
- Turn Signal Lights: Activates turn signals for right or left.
- High Beam: Controls high beam and Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus.
- Windshield Wipers: Functions include single wipe, washer fluid activation, wipers off, intermittent wiping (normal and frequent), and continuous wiping (slow and fast).
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
This system maintains a set speed and distance from the vehicle ahead. The minimum set speed is 12 mph (20 km/h).
- Activation/Deactivation: Switches Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC on or off.
- Set Speed: Activates DISTRONIC with the current speed (SET+) or stored speed (RES).
- Cancel: Deactivates DISTRONIC (CNCL).
- Adjusting Speed/Distance: Use the rocker switch to increase/decrease speed (briefly for 1 mph/1 km/h steps, beyond pressure point for 5 mph/10 km/h steps) or to adjust the distance to the vehicle in front. Pressing the switch upwards twice activates DISTRONIC with the speed restriction displayed.

Climate Control
The climate control system can be operated via rocker switches on the center console or through the multimedia system's air conditioning menu.
Automatic Climate Control Panel
- Temperature: Adjusts the cabin temperature.
- Air Distribution: Controls airflow direction.
- Air Flow: Adjusts fan speed or switches climate control off.
- AUTO: Sets climate control to automatic mode.
- Defrost Windshield: Activates front windshield defrost.
- MENU: Calls up the air conditioning menu. Press and hold for approx. 4 seconds to reset to basic settings.
- Residual Heat: Uses residual engine heat when the engine is off.
- Defrost Rear Window: Activates rear window defrost.
- SYNC: Synchronizes settings across all climate zones.
- Air-Recirculation Mode: Recirculates interior air, which may cause windows to fog up faster.
- A/C: Activates cooling with air dehumidification.
Air Conditioning Menu of the Multimedia System
Access this menu by pressing the MENU rocker switch.
- SYNC: Changes settings for all climate zones simultaneously.
- A/C: Deactivates the cooling function.
- Climate Mode: Changes the air flow.
- Air Freshener: Adjusts the intensity of the fragrancing system.
- Ionization: Freshens interior air using ionization.
Multimedia, Voice Control, and Connectivity
Voice Control System
Operate the multimedia system using voice commands.
- Starting a Dialog: Press the voice command button [?] and speak your command after the acoustic signal. If a mobile phone is connected via Bluetooth®, pressing and holding the button activates the phone's voice control.
- Help Functions: Say "Help Voice Control System" for general help, "Help" for current function help, or "Help [system name]" for specific system help (e.g., "Help telephone").
- Examples: Navigation commands like "Navigate to [address]" or "Nearest gas station". Telephone commands like "Call [contact name]". Audio commands like "Station [frequency]" or "Play [song title]".
Operating the Multimedia System
Navigate menus using the controller, touchpad, or Touch Control.
- Controller: Turn or slide for selection, press to confirm. Slide left/right to open menus.
- Touchpad: Swipe in the direction of the desired entry, press to confirm. Swipe left/right to open menus.
- Touch Control: Used for navigation and confirmation.
- Leaving Menus: Use the back button [%] or switch to the basic menu.
- Favorites: Quickly access frequently used applications by pressing the favorite button []. You can create and store your own favorites.
- Personalization: Store personal settings in a user profile via System > Personalization.
- Zoom Map: Use two fingers on the touchpad (spread/pinch) or turn the controller.
- Quick-Access to Audio Sources: Swipe up with two fingers or press the [D] button on the touchpad to open the access bar. Swipe up/down with one finger to select previous/next track. Swipe down with two fingers to close.
- Handwriting Recognition: Enter letters by drawing on the touchpad. Swipe left to delete, right to insert a space.
- Storing Radio Stations: Press and hold the controller/touchpad/Touch Control while the Radio menu is displayed.
Connecting a Mobile Phone
Requires Bluetooth® to be enabled and visible on both the phone and the multimedia system.
- Searching for a Mobile Phone: Press the TEL button [%], select Devices > Connect New Device, or Start Search on System.
- Connecting: Select the desired phone from the list. A code will appear on both the system and the phone. Confirm if the codes match. Up to two phones can be connected simultaneously.

Connecting Exterior Media Sources
- SD Card Slot: For media cards.
- USB Ports: For connecting devices. The USB port marked with the [] symbol supports Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
Hands-Free Access
For vehicles equipped with KEYLESS-GO, the trunk can be opened or closed by kicking under the rear bumper (maintain approx. 12 in / 30 cm distance).
