Device Overview

The VOLTCRAFT SEM6503 Wi-Fi is an energy consumption meter featuring one main power receptacle and two USB power ports. The device includes a push button, an indicator light, a main power receptacle, and two USB power ports (USB-C and USB-A). The USB ports support various charging standards, including USB-C PD3.0 up to 65W and USB-A up to 18W. The total output for both USB ports combined is a maximum of 65W.

Intended Use

This product is designed for indoor use only. It functions as an energy consumption meter and is intended to power compatible USB devices (up to 65W) and a single electrical device via the main receptacle. It must be connected to a standard power socket with an earth connection.

The device can be operated manually using the push button or via software using the "Tuya Smart" mobile application, which requires a Wi-Fi connection to the cloud.

Keep the product away from water, high humidity, and areas where these conditions may occur, such as bathrooms.

Safety Instructions

General Safety:

  • Unauthorized modification or disassembly of the product is prohibited.
  • The product is designed according to protection class I and must be connected to a grounded mains socket.
  • The mains socket used must be easily accessible.
  • This product is not a toy and must be kept out of reach of children.
  • Do not leave packaging material carelessly accessible to children.
  • The product features enhanced protection against accidental contact, requiring both prongs of a plug to be inserted simultaneously to open the receptacle.
  • Exercise caution with children around, as they may not recognize the dangers of electrical devices, posing a risk of electric shock (⚠️).
  • Handle the product with care to avoid damage from impacts or falls.

Operating Location:

  • Operate only in dry, closed indoor areas. Avoid moisture and wetness.
  • Never place the product near bathtubs, showers, bathrooms, or swimming pools due to the risk of fatal electric shock (⚠️).
  • Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or strong vibrations.
  • Keep away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., near machines, electric motors, loudspeakers).
  • Do not operate in environments with high dust levels, flammable gases, vapors, or solvents, as this poses a risk of explosion and fire (⚠️).
  • The device may warm up during operation; place it on non-sensitive surfaces.
  • Do not use in hospitals or medical facilities, as radio waves may interfere with medical equipment.

Handling and Use:

  • Never handle the plug or device with wet hands. Risk of electric shock (⚠️).
  • If the product has been moved from a cold environment to a warm one, allow it to reach room temperature and condensation to evaporate before connecting to power to prevent damage and electric shock.
  • Always pull plugs by the gripping surface, never by the cable.
  • Do not overload the product; adhere to the maximum permissible connected load.
  • Do not connect devices in series (❌), as this can lead to overload and fire risk.
  • Do not operate the product while covered, as it can overheat and cause a fire (⚠️).
  • Disconnect the plug during thunderstorms for safety.
  • Ensure the product is volt-free when unplugged.
  • Do not use a damaged product; dispose of it environmentally (♻️). Safe operation is not assumed if the product shows visible damage, malfunctions (smoke, burning smell, cracking noises, discoloration), was stored unfavorably, or suffered heavy transport stress.
  • Never pour liquids over or near the product. Risk of fire or fatal electric shock (⚠️). If liquid enters the device, immediately switch off power at the source, unplug, and contact a specialist. Do not use further.
  • Always unplug the product before cleaning or long-term storage.
  • Use only in temperate climates, not tropical ones.

Connected Devices:

  • Observe the safety and operating instructions of any connected devices.

Connection and Operation

Connection:

  • Plug the product into a regular grounded mains socket.
  • Connect the electrical device to the receptacle.
  • Connect suitable USB devices to the USB power ports.

Operation Modes:

  • Software Mode: Control the receptacle via the mobile app. Requires Wi-Fi connection to the cloud. Follow app instructions.
  • Manual Mode: Control the receptacle using the push button.

Indicator Light Status:

  • Software Mode NOT Configured: Indicator light does NOT show on/off status. Push button switches receptacle and USB ports on/off; indicator light flashes.
  • Software Mode Configured: Indicator light shows status: Solid = ON, Off = OFF, Flashes = Wi-Fi Error. (Note: Indicator light does NOT show on/off status during Wi-Fi errors). Refer to the app manual for color meanings.

Resetting and Maintenance

Resetting: To restore factory settings, press and hold the push button for 5 seconds.

Maintenance and Cleaning:

  • The product requires no maintenance; repairs should be done by a specialist.
  • Disconnect the connected load and the product from the power supply before cleaning.
  • Clean with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Remove dust with a soft brush and vacuum cleaner.
  • NOTICE: Do not use aggressive chemical or scouring cleaning agents, as they can damage the product.

Disposal:

Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol (♻️) must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. Owners must dispose of WEEE separately. Spent batteries and accumulators, and lamps that can be removed, must be removed before handing over to a collection point. Distributors are legally obliged to provide free take-back of waste. End users are responsible for deleting personal data. Disposal and recycling regulations may vary by country.
