Aprimatic UNICO RR-SE 433MHz Receiver
This document provides comprehensive instructions for the Aprimatic UNICO RR-SE 433MHz radio receiver, designed for automatic gate, door, and window opening systems.
1. Introduction and Safety Notes
This manual is an integral part of the product and is intended for expert operators responsible for installation and extraordinary maintenance. It is crucial to read and strictly follow all instructions to ensure safety, optimal operation, and longevity of the product.
Key Safety Standards:
- Operations must be performed as specified by the manufacturer.
- The installer must verify correct installation and functioning.
- Do not use the product for unintended purposes or improperly.
- Do not tamper with or modify the product.
- Use only equipment in good condition.
- Avoid working in poorly lit or hazardous environments.
- Unauthorized personnel should not enter the work area.
- Never leave the work area unattended.
- Always disconnect power before opening the enclosure.
- Installation must be performed only by qualified technical personnel.
- Electrical systems must comply with local regulations.
Important: Before powering the control unit:
- Rotate the wire antenna approximately 90°.
- If necessary, temporarily disconnect the receiver from the control unit to position the antenna.
- The control unit should only be powered when the receiver antenna is correctly positioned.
2. Components and Accessories
The Aprimatic UNICO RR-SE receiver (Fig. 1) includes:
- J1: Memory module connector
- JP5-8: Output channel selection jumpers
- BZL: Buzzer
- D1: LED
- DLL: Delete button
- JP1-2: Output logic selection jumpers
- JP3-4: Button row selection jumpers
- JP9: Jumper for Aprimatic and other unit control
- JPCL: Jumper for enabling cloned, imitation, or killer remote controls
- RF: RF Module
- CON1: Output/power supply terminal board
- CON2: Antenna/power supply/control terminal board
CAUTION: The RF module is housed in a metal container. Do not open or tamper with the adjustment trimmer to avoid serious malfunctions.
Technical Features:
- Power Supply: 24 VDC - 24 VAC
- Current Consumption: Stand-by: 20mA; Learning: 25mA; Output Active: 20mA
- Output: Normally open contact, pulse (1 sec duration)
- Output Contact Capacity: Max 1A at 24VDC (resistive loads), Max 0.5A at 24VDC (non-resistive loads). Do not exceed limits.
Assembly:
- Snap-on Assembly (Fig. 2): Exclusively for Aprimatic control units with a dedicated connector.
- Separate Enclosure Assembly: An external enclosure can be purchased separately. If using non-Aprimatic enclosures, ensure minimum IP44 (indoor) or IP55 (outdoor) protection.
Removable Memory Module (Fig. 3):
- Stores programming and remote control information.
- Capacity: 400 users (4K version, supplied) or 1500 users (16K version, optional).
- A second module is recommended as a backup.
Accessories:
- CA41 Module: Adds one extra reception channel (control two devices).
- CA43 Module: Adds three extra reception channels (control four devices).
- Memory Expansion Module (16kb or 128kbits): Increases user capacity to 1500.
- IP44 External Enclosure
Programming Tools:
- APRITOOL Programmer
- APRICOT-MANAGER Software
- APRIBASE 1 Connection Base
Warnings for Power Supply:
- Power must come from a limited power source (I ≤ 8A and P ≤ 100VA).
- Power must come from a SELV external source, complying with IEC/EN 60558-2-6 for isolation.
3. Receiver Connection Schemes
Connections are made via terminal blocks. Terminal 1 is ground, terminal 2 is antenna input. Terminals 3 and 4 supply 24V AC or DC. Terminals 5 and 6 are for monitoring Aprimatic and other units. Jumper JP9 may need to be opened for non-APRIMATIC positive connections.
Note: The receiver has a built-in antenna. An external antenna can be connected if range is insufficient.
4. Programming
4.1 Receiver Programming
- Enabling Button (Fig. 4): Use jumpers JP5-8 to select the output channel and corresponding remote control button. Only one jumper should be closed to avoid damage.
- Button Row Selection (Figs. 5 & 6): For 14-button remotes, use jumpers JP3-4 to select the button row (1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-14). For 2/4-button remotes, leave JP3-4 open.
- Output Function Logic: Jumpers JP1-2 select the operating mode for output channels 3 and 4 (pulse, step, or continuous). Channels 1 and 2 are always pulse output (1 sec). Microprocessor reads jumper positions at startup. Changes require power cycle.
5. Remote Control Management
- Memory Test (Fig. 1): On power-up, the receiver performs a memory test, indicated by beeps (1-10) representing free memory percentage (approx. 10% per beep).
- Total Memory Deletion: Power off, then power on while holding the delete button (DLL) until LED and buzzer turn off. Wait for completion.
- Learning the First Remote Control: Power up receiver. Ensure memory is empty (10 beeps). Press all buttons on the first remote simultaneously until LED/buzzer indicate learning mode. Press any button on the remote. LED/buzzer will confirm learning.
- Learning Additional Remote Controls: While the signal is active after learning the first remote, repeat steps 3 & 4 for additional remotes. The learning phase can be reactivated by pressing all buttons on an already learned remote.
- Deleting a Remote Control: With receiver powered, hold delete button. Press any button on the remote to delete. LED/buzzer will turn off. Repeat for multiple remotes.
- Learning Cloned/Imitation/Killer Remotes: Disconnect power, insert JPCL jumper. Power up and wait for memory test. Follow steps 3 & 4 from section 5.4 for each remote. Remove JPCL jumper after completion.
6. Access Control Mode
Mode 0 - Base: Aprimatic remotes come with a unique serial number. The default mode provides maximum security (hopping rolling code). Cloning or copying radio transmission decoders will block the transmitter and require installer intervention.
