STREX SP112 Wireless Doorbell Instruction Manual
Thank you for choosing Strex! Please read this manual carefully for correct and safe operation of the product. Always follow these instructions for safe usage.
What You Should Know Before Using
- The transmitters included in the set are pre-paired with the receivers and set to the default ringtone "Ding Dong". If not paired, refer to the "Quick Start" section to pair transmitters with receivers and set your favorite ringtone.
- It is not advisable to mount the transmitter on a metal surface, as metal can interfere with the RF signal between the transmitters and receivers. If mounting on metal is the only option, use the provided adhesive strip instead of the screw set.
- The signal range will decrease if the transmitter's battery is low.
- It is not advisable to place the doorbell outdoors without any form of shelter, as weather can affect the doorbell's casing.
Quick Start & Pairing
Receiver Controls: The receiver unit has controls for volume and ringtone selection.
- Volume Control: Press the volume buttons on the side of the receiver to increase or decrease the volume.
- Set Ringtone:
- Press the forward or backward button on the receiver to select a new melody. The receiver will play the selected melody.
- Follow the pairing steps below to synchronize the new ringtone. The ringtone will be set for the most recently synced transmitter.
Pairing a Transmitter to the Receiver:
- Select your desired ringtone before starting the pairing process.
- Press and hold the volume button on the receiver for 5 seconds until you hear a "Ding-dong" sound and the LED indicator begins to flash. You are now in pairing mode. This mode is active for 5 seconds.
- Press the doorbell button on the transmitter to send a signal and pair it with the receiver.
- If pairing is not successful, repeat the above steps.
- Pairing Multiple Transmitters: The pairing process is done per transmitter. To pair additional transmitters, repeat steps 1-3 for each transmitter.
- Resetting: Press and hold the forward button for 5 seconds to reset receivers to default settings. A "ding dong" sound and flashing LED indicate a successful reset. Settings revert to the first melody, and no transmitters are paired.
Receiver and Transmitter Installation
Important: Before installation, test the doorbell's range.
For the Receiver: Place the receiver into a power outlet. It will work immediately.
For the Transmitter: There are two methods to install the transmitter:
Transmitter Installation Method 1: Double-sided Adhesive Tape (Recommended)
A diagram shows the transmitter with double-sided tape on the back, being pressed firmly against a clean, grease-free wall surface for 10 seconds to ensure optimal adhesion.
- After determining the suitable installation location, clean the area where the transmitter will be mounted to ensure it is free of dirt and grease for optimal adhesion.
- Peel off one side of the double-sided adhesive tape and attach it to the underside of the transmitter. Peel off the other side of the tape and press the transmitter firmly against the wall for 10 seconds.
Transmitter Installation Method 2: Screws/Anchors (Optional)
This method requires a drill, a flat-head screwdriver, and a Phillips head screwdriver.
A diagram illustrates marking two points on the wall for mounting holes, drilling these holes, inserting provided wall plugs, and then attaching the transmitter's backplate or base.
- Remove the back cover from the doorbell transmitter.
- Mark two points on the wall corresponding to the mounting holes on the transmitter's backplate.
- Drill two holes at the marked locations. Insert the provided wall plugs into the holes.
- Reattach the back cover to the transmitter and mount the doorbell onto the wall using screws.
Troubleshooting
1. The receiver makes no sound:
- Check the transmitter's battery. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure the receiver is properly plugged into the power outlet.
- Verify that the receiver is within the transmitter's range.
- Confirm that the transmitter and receiver are paired.
- Check that the receiver's volume is set high enough.
2. The receiver's operating range is less than expected:
- Metal surfaces and structures, such as door frames, can interfere with signal transmission. Try to avoid placing the transmitter or receiver on or near metal.
- Other electronic devices operating on certain frequencies may cause interference with the doorbell.
- Walls and ceilings will reduce the signal range.
- Weak batteries reduce range. Replace the battery every 12-18 months.
