How to Add Camera on Blue Iris
Network IP Camera Configuration
To add an IP camera to Blue Iris, follow these steps:
- In the 'Address' field, type the camera's IP address (e.g.,
192.168.0.101
). - Enter the camera's username and password in the respective fields.
- Click the 'Find/inspect...' button to search for cameras or to inspect the entered address.
Configure the following settings:
- Make: Select the camera manufacturer or 'Generic/ONVIF'.
- Model: Choose the appropriate model or compatibility setting (e.g., 'RTSP H.264/H.265/MJPG/MPEG4' or 'Foscam FI86xx/98xx compatible').
- Video: Configure the main stream and sub-stream settings, including path and format.
- Audio: Set the audio format, such as '16-bit PCM' or '64 kbps G.711 a-law'.
- Network Options: Adjust settings like 'Receive buffer', 'Use RTP/UDP ports', and enable 'Send RTSP keep-alives' and 'Use RTSP/stream timecode' as needed.
- Media/video/RTSP port: Typically 554.
- Discovery/ONVIF port: Typically 8999.
After configuring the network settings, click 'OK'.
The software will then inspect the camera. A confirmation message will appear indicating that the camera has been added successfully, and the Blue Iris Evaluation Version will be displayed.
New Camera Configuration Details
Within the 'New camera' settings, you can further configure:
- Device type: Select 'Screen capture' or 'Network IP'. For Network IP cameras, input the camera's address (e.g.,
http://192.168.0.101
) and click 'Configure...' for advanced settings. - Image format: Set the 'Size', 'Max. rate', and configure options like 'Anamorphic (force size)', 'Flip left/right', 'Area of interest', 'Rotate', and 'De-interlace'.
- Hardware accelerated decode: Choose the appropriate GPU setting.
Click '确定' (Confirm) to save the settings.
Interface Overview
The main Blue Iris interface displays:
- A list of cameras (initially empty or showing added cameras).
- A preview window showing the live feed from the selected camera.
- Timestamp information for the video feed.
- System resource usage (CPU and RAM).
- A timeline for reviewing recorded clips.
Navigation controls allow for zooming and dragging the image.
