3. Flight controller connection diagram

The flight controller board has connections for OSD Chip, current sensor, and MPU6000. The OSD Chip side shows connections for GND, CUR, M4, M3, M2, M1, GND, and Lipo out. The MPU6000 side shows connections for GND, Lipo out, Lipo in, RSSI, BOOT, and USB, with an arrow indicating the FRONT direction.

Notes:

  • CAM is +5V output with LC Power Filter.
  • UR3 is for Serial-based receiver like SBUS/IBUS/DSM2/DSMX and etc.

4. ESC Connection diagram and Frame type

The ESC connection diagram illustrates the 'Quad X' mixer configuration for motor connections (M1, M2, M3, M4). It also shows the ESC board with pinouts: PMW1, PMW2, PMW3, PMW4, NC, GND. The input is for 2-4S Lipo. The diagram also shows how to fix the propellers: the 2435PRO(R) propeller onto M1 and M4 motors (CW Motor), and the 2435PRO(L) propeller onto M2 and M3 motors (CCW motor). Cautions: Be sure to tighten the screws.

Notes: If using a current sensor, use 14AWG Silicone wire and change the power wire connection order as follows:

  • Lipo battery + connects to Lipo in (Flight controller).
  • Lipo battery GND connects to GND (Flight controller).
  • Lipo out (Flight controller) connects to Lipo+ (ESC).
  • GND (Flight controller) connects to GND (ESC).

5. VTX connection diagram

The VTX module has connections for GND, DCIN (>5.5V), VIDEO in, and VIDEO out. It also features a Red-LED-light at 23dBm out and an RF-OUT/ANT connection. The VTX supports power level selection up to 10S and frequency group selection (A-F) up to 2S-5S. Channels CH1-CH8 can be selected with a short touch.

6. DVR connection diagram and Operating instructions

The DVR module has connections for Video in, +5V out, GND, Video Out, +5V in, GND, and PWM. The Blue LED indicates status: Solid for Standby, Blinking for video recording. A Start/Stop button is present.

Operating Instructions:

  • Insert Micro SD card (Max 32G).
  • Remove the Micro SD Card using tweezers.
  • Holding the Start/stop button and power on the L105S to change video format (NTSC/PAL).

Notes: The DVR will auto-start recording video when power is on.

7. 2.4G Receiver connection diagram

Diagrams show receiver connections for Frsky, Flysky, and DSM2/DSMX protocols.

Frsky

Connections: GND, 5V, SBUS. LED Status Meanings: Red and Green are solid: Binding Mode; Green is solid and Red is blinking: Binding complete; Green is solid and no Red LED: Works normal; Red LED is blinking and no Green LED: No signal.

Flysky

Connections: GND, 5V0, IBUS, SENSOR. LED Status Meanings: Red and Green are solid: Binding complete or Works normal; Red is solid and Green is blinking Fast: Binding Mode; Red is solid and Green is blinking slowly: No Signal.

DSM2/DSMX

Connections: GND, +5V, DSMX. LED Status Meanings: Orange LED is Solid or blinking slowly: Works normal; Orange LED is blinking fast: Binding Mode; Orange LED is off: No Signal.

8. Lizard 105S Frsky BNF Version binding procedure

  1. Connect the battery while holding the bind button on the Frsky receiver. The green and red LEDs on the receiver will become solid, indicating the Lizard 105S is ready to bind with the transmitter. Release the bind button.

LED Status Meanings: Red and Green are solid: Binding Mode; Green is solid and Red is blinking: Binding complete; Green is solid and no Red LED: Works normal; Red LED is blinking and no Green LED: No signal.

9. Arm/Disarm Lizard 105S Frsky BNF

The default Arm/Disarm switch for the Lizard 105S is AUX1 (Channel 5). It can also be customized via Betaflight Configurator. AUX2 (Channel 6) is set for changing flight mode, and AUX3 (Channel 7) is for activating the buzzer. These can also be customized.

Transmitter Setup (Taranis X9D):

  1. Move to the MIXER interface.
  2. Set switch "SA" or "SB" etc. for Ch5 to ARM/DISARM the motor. A 3-step switch is suggested for changing flight mode.
  3. Toggle the AUX1 Switch. The buzzer will beep once, and the Green LED on the flight controller will turn off, indicating the motor is armed. The status "Armed" may also appear on FPV Goggles or the FPV Monitor. Keep the Lizard 105S level before arming.

Cautions: The motors will spin at low speed once armed in Air mode.

10. Lizard 105S Frsky BNF version receiver configuration

The Frsky receiver is pre-configured. If the firmware is updated, follow these steps:

  1. Enable Serial RX for UART3.
  2. Choose 'Serial_based receiver' from the Receiver Mode tab.
  3. Set the Serial Receiver Provider to SBUS Mode in Betaflight Configurator.

Ports Configuration:

The Betaflight Configurator Ports tab shows Identifier, Configuration/MSP, Serial Rx, Telemetry Output, Sensor Input, and Peripherals. Notes advise against disabling MSP on the first serial port without understanding the implications, as it may require reflashing.

11. Lizard 105S Flysky BNF Version binding procedure

  1. Connect the battery to the Lizard 105S while holding the bind button on the Flysky receiver. The Green LED on the receiver will blink fast, indicating it's ready to bind. Release the bind button.

Green LED Status Meanings: Solid: Bind complete or works normal; Blinking fast: Binding mode; Blinking slowly: No signal.

  1. Ensure the transmitter's RX setup is in AFHDS 2A Mode. Turn on the transmitter while holding the bind button. The Green LED on the receiver will become solid, indicating successful binding.

12. Arm/Disarm Lizard 105S Flysky BNF Version

The default Arm/Disarm switch for the Lizard 105S is AUX1 (Channel 5). It can be customized via Betaflight Configurator. AUX2 (Channel 6) is for flight mode changes, and AUX3 (Channel 7) is for the buzzer. These can also be customized.

Transmitter Setup (Flysky Radio):

  1. Move to the Aux.channels interface.
  2. Set switch "SWA", "SWB", or "SWC" etc. for Ch5 to ARM/DISARM the motor. A 3-steps switch (like "SWC" on the Flysky i6) is suggested for changing flight mode.
  3. Toggle the AUX1 Switch. The buzzer will beep once, and the Green LED on the flight controller will turn off, indicating the motor is armed. The status "Armed" may also appear on FPV Goggles or the FPV Monitor. Keep the Lizard 105S level before arming.

13. Lizard 105S Flysky version receiver configuration

The Flysky receiver is pre-configured. If the firmware is updated, follow these steps:

  1. Enable Serial RX for UART3.
  2. Choose 'Serial_based receiver' from the Receiver Mode tab.
  3. Set the Serial Receiver Provider to IBUS Mode in Betaflight Configurator.

Ports Configuration:

The Betaflight Configurator Ports tab shows Identifier, Configuration/MSP, Serial Rx, Telemetry Output, Sensor Input, and Peripherals. Notes advise against disabling MSP on the first serial port without understanding the implications, as it may require reflashing.

14. Lizard 105S DSM2/DSMX BNF Version binding procedure and Satellite receiver setup

The Lizard 105S DSM2/X version includes a BM01 binding module. The binding steps are:

  1. First, remove the Receiver from the Lizard 105S.
  2. Connect the binding module and the receiver of the Lizard 105S.
  3. For DSMX Protocol Transmitter (e.g., DX9/DX8/DX7S/DX6): Plug the USB of the binding module into a computer or 5V power bank. The orange LED on the receiver will blink fast, indicating it's in DSMX protocol bind mode. Turn on your transmitter and enter binding mode. The orange LED should become solid upon successful binding. If failed, repeat the steps.
  4. For DSM2 Protocol Transmitter (e.g., DX7/DX6I): Plug the USB of the binding module into a computer or 5V power bank while holding the button. The orange LED on the receiver will blink fast, indicating it's in DSM2 protocol bind mode. Release the button, turn on your transmitter, and enter binding mode. The orange LED should become solid upon successful binding. If failed, repeat the steps.
  5. Reconnect the receiver to the Lizard 105S after binding successfully.
  6. The default channel map for the Lizard 105S DSMX version is "TAER1234". Ensure your transmitter matches this map, otherwise, it cannot be armed.

Notes: Pay attention to the minimum Throttle of your transmitter; it should be less than the "Stick min" value (e.g., 1048 < 1050) to arm the Quadcopter.

15. Arm/Disarm Lizard 105S DSM2/DSMX BNF version

The default Arm/Disarm switch for the Lizard 105S DSM2/DSMX BNF Version is AUX1 (Channel 5). For most Spektrum radios, the default Channel 5 is the Gear switch. This can also be customized via Betaflight Configurator. AUX2 (Channel 6) is set for changing flight mode, and AUX3 (Channel 7) is for activating the buzzer, both of which can be customized. A 3-step switch is suggested for changing flight mode.

Transmitter Setup (SPEKTRUM DX6/DX6I):

  1. Turn on the transmitter and set a switch for Ch5 to ARM/DISARM the motor. For SPEKTRUM DX6/DX6I, the default Ch5 is the GEAR Switch.
  2. Toggle the AUX1 Switch. The buzzer will beep once, and the Green LED on the flight controller will turn off, indicating the motor is armed. The status "Armed" may also appear on FPV Goggles or the FPV Monitor. Keep the Lizard 105S level before arming.

16. Lizard 105S DSM2/DSMX BNF version receiver configuration

The DSM2/DSMX receiver is pre-configured. If the firmware is updated, follow these steps:

  1. Enable Serial RX for UART3.
  2. Choose 'Serial_based receiver' from the Receiver Mode tab.
  3. Set the Serial Receiver Provider to SPEKTRUM2048 for DSMX Protocol and SPEKTRUM1024 for DSM2 Protocol in Betaflight Configurator.

Ports Configuration:

17. OSD Configuration

To configure the OSD layout:

  1. Connect the Lizard 105S to the computer.
  2. Open Betaflight Configurator and navigate to the OSD option.
  3. Configure the layout of the OSD.
  4. To change the font layout, use the provided interface to select a font preset.

18. Flight controller firmware update

Firmware update process:

  1. Install the latest STM32 Virtual COM Port Driver from st.com.
  2. Install the STM BOOTLOAD Driver (for STM Device in DFU MODE).
  3. Open Betaflight configurator and choose the firmware target "OMNIBUS F4SD", then select the firmware version.
  4. To enter DFU Mode: Either solder the boot pad and then plug in the USB, or load Betaflight firmware and hit "flash" to enter DFU Mode automatically.
  5. Open Zadig tools to replace the drivers from STM32 Bootloader to WINUSB Driver. A screenshot shows the Zadig tool interface with driver selection.
  6. Reconnect the flight controller to the computer after driver replacement. Open Betaflight configurator, load the firmware, and click flash.
