Preface
The AUE2500C 2.5G USB-C Ethernet adapter contains all software and drivers required to run on Windows operating systems. AUE2500C is supported natively by macOS 10.6 or later releases.

? NOTE
Before proceeding further, to ensure driver installation with best results, please verify following items:
- Remove any previously installed driver(s) / utility of other external adapter(s)
- Disable built-in wireless and/or Ethernet adapters
For Windows
1 Connect to a Computer
Insert the adapter into an open USB-C (USB Type C) port on your laptop/desktop computer.
When the adapter is detected, a virtual disc will be added, and an autorun prompt for driver installation appears.

? NOTE
If the setup wizard does not automatically start, navigate to the virtual CD-ROM and double-click ALFAINSTALL.exe.
If there is a security prompt for the autorun program, please grant privilege for the driver installation.

? NOTE
If CD/DVD AutoPlay feature is disabled in your computer, please re-enable it or manually browse the content of the virtual disc.
2 Installing Driver
Follow the on-screen instructions to start and complete driver installation.
Once Windows has completed driver installation, click "Finish" to exit the driver installation wizard.
? NOTE
To verify the installation, please open up "Computer Management", click "System Tools" ---> "Device Manager", then "Network adapters". The newly installed "Realtek USB 2.5GbE Family Controller" should appear in the network adapter list. This indicates the USB 2.5G Ethernet adapter is now ready to use.

3 Join an Ethernet Network
Obtain a Cat-5e or higher grade Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the adapter and the other end into a switch on the network.
? NOTE
The USB 2.5G Ethernet adapter supports 10/100/1000/2500Mbps network speeds. To reach optimum performance, be sure to use Cat-5e or higher grade Ethernet cable.
For macOS
1 Connect to a Computer
Insert the adapter into an open USB-C port on your macOS computer.
AUE2500C has native driver support from macOS 10.7 or later releases; that is, the adapter will be detected by macOS, and the driver will be applied automatically.
If the version of macOS installed in your computer is earlier than 10.7.x, please download the driver from our website to complete the adapter installation.

2 Set Up Your Network Adapter (Optional)
1. Configure the adapter from the Network menu.
Click on "Advanced" to set the connection speed.

? NOTE
If the macOS is earlier than 10.7.x, please install driver and utility manually:
- Download the driver and utility from this product download page at www.alfa.com.tw.
- Unzip the downloaded folder and run the Install.pkg.
- Follow on-screen instructions to complete driver installation. (Password input or reboot computer during driver installation may be applied.)
3 Join An Ethernet Network
Obtain a Cat-5e or higher grade Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the USB 2.5G Ethernet adapter and the other end into the switch/hub on the network.
