The WiFi CampPro 2 is an innovative solution for WiFi Hotspot extension, designed to help you extend your WiFi connection to multiple devices such as tablets, smartphones, and laptops.

Hardware Installation

Setup Process

Follow these simple installation steps to set up your WiFi CampPro 2.

1. Initial Login and Password Setup

Upon first setup of the WiFi CampPro 2, you will be prompted to create a password for future access. For basic security, passwords must be at least 8 characters long.

After setting your password, click the "[Submit button]" to proceed to the setup page.

2. Network Discovery

If your WiFi CampPro 2 hardware is installed correctly, you should see the Network Discovery page. This page lists available networks with their SSID, Signal strength, Channel (CH), and MAC address.

Note: If this page does not appear, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

3. Selecting a Network to Extend

Select the Hotspot AP you wish to connect to and click "[Select >]".

4. Hotspot Configuration

Enter the Hotspot password if required by the selected network. You will also set up your own WiFi CampPro 2 Wireless Password for device access.

Note: If multiple APs share the same name, you can use the "Lock Hotspot MAC" option to specify which AP to connect to.

The "Internet configuration" section allows setting the Network Name and Network Password for the CampPro 2's own Wi-Fi network.

Click "[BACK]" to return or "[FINISH >>]" to complete the setup.

5. Finalizing and Restarting

After entering all required information, click "[FINISH >>]". The device will apply changes and restart.

Note: Please reconnect to the Wi-Fi using the correct SSID and network password after the device restarts. The network name might be "WiFiCampPro2-A56BE8" based on your settings.

6. Verifying Connection

Upon successful setup and restart, the status page will display connection information, typically indicated by a green "Connected" status.

Function Menu Description

The device interface is organized into several menus accessible from the left-hand navigation panel.

1. Easy Setup

This section guides you through the initial network connection and configuration, as described in the Setup Process above. It includes fields for Hotspot Name, Lock Hotspot MAC, Encryption, Hotspot Password, Network Type, Hostname, DNS Server, and Internet configuration (Network Name, Network Password).

2. Status

The Status page provides real-time information about the Internet connection and the WiFiCampPro2's own network status. It displays details such as connection type, SSID, RSSI, IP address, Gateway, DNS, Uptime, and a list of linked devices.

3. HotSpot Settings

This section manages saved Hotspot Profiles. You can activate [On], edit [✏️], delete [?️], or add [➕] profiles.

Within each profile, you can configure Hotspot MAC, Password/Passkey, Network Type, IP Address, Netmask, Gateway, and DNS Server list.

Note: Click "[Apply]" to save any configuration changes.

4. Local Network

Wired Network Configuration

Allows configuration of the wired network interface. You can set a Static IP address or configure it as a DHCP client.

Default IP Address: 192.168.36.1

DHCP Server: When enabled, you can set the Start IP address, Limit (maximum leased addresses), and Leasetime. The "Force" option ensures DHCP is enabled even if another server is detected.

Wireless 2.4G

Wireless Basic Configuration: Settings include Radio On/Off, HT Mode (e.g., HT20), Channel Selection, Transmit Power, and Country Code.

Wireless AP Mode Configuration: Settings include SSID (Network Name), MAC Address Filter, Hide SSID, WMM Mode, Encryption type, Cipher, and Key.

Supported Encryption types are listed: No Encryption, WEP Open System, WEP Shared Key, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK Mixed Mode, WPA-EAP, WPA2-EAP.

DHCP and DNS

Active DHCP Leases: Displays a list of currently connected client devices, showing their Hostname, IPv4 Address, MAC Address, and remaining Leasetime.

Active DHCPv6 Leases: Shows active IPv6 leases (if any).

Static Leases: Allows you to add or delete static IP address assignments for specific devices.

5. Tools

Provides network utilities for testing internet status.

Diagnostics

Ping: Tests network connectivity to a specified host. Displays packet transmission statistics, packet loss, and round-trip times.

Traceroute: Maps the route packets take to a destination host, showing hops and latency.

Nslookup: Queries DNS servers to resolve hostnames to IP addresses and vice versa.

6. System

System Time

Allows setting the local time, hostname, and timezone. It also includes Time Synchronization settings, enabling an NTP client to synchronize with network time servers.

NTP Server Candidates: You can add or remove NTP server addresses (e.g., tw.pool.ntp.org).

Administration

Login Password: Change the device's administrative login password.

SSH Access: Configure SSH access, including the listening port, password authentication, and allowing remote logins.

System Maintenance

System Configuration: Options to restore to factory default settings [Restore], export current configuration [Export], or import a saved configuration [Import].

Firmware Upgrade: Update the device's firmware. You can choose to keep current settings or revert to defaults. This process may take approximately 240 seconds.

System Reboot: Restart the device. This process takes about 180 seconds.

Note: Do not power off the device during firmware upgrades or reboots.

Following a reboot or firmware flash, the system may display "System - Erasing..." or "System - Rebooting..." or "System - Flashing...". A "Connection lost" message may appear if the LAN connection is interrupted.

After a reboot, you may need to log in to 192.168.36.1 and set a new password.

7. Logout

Logs out the current user session. You will be prompted to log in again upon returning to the administration interface.

Troubleshooting

USB Device Not Found: If you encounter the "USB device not found" error, ensure the ALFA USB-WLAN adapter is connected to the USB port before powering on the WiFiCampPro2. If the adapter is not detected, the device may not function correctly.
