Operation

Operating the Unit on AC Power

Insert DC jack end of the supplied power cord into the DC 9V IN Jack located at the rear of the unit and the power plug end into the Wall outlet.

Operation

Tune the Power knob clockwise, until you hear a “click” sound and the LED indicator is on, this means the unit is turned on.

Record Player

  1. Place the record on the turntable. If required, also place the adaptor on the record spindle.
  2. Choose the desired playing speed using the speed selection switch between 33, 45 and 78 RPM.
  3. Turn on the power knob, note that this also controls volume.
  4. Release the tone arm lock.
  5. Raise the arm with your hand lightly.
  6. Place the stylus vertically over the first track of the record, the turntable will start turning automatically.
  7. The red indicator is on.
  8. Lower the stylus slowly onto the record to play.
  9. When a record comes to the end, the turntable will stop automatically if the auto-stop switch is in the ON position. If the switch is in the off position then it will keep revolving until the tone arm is returned to the tone arm rest.
  10. Lift up the tone arm and put it on the rest when finished.
  11. Replace the protective cap on the stylus and close the tone arm lock.
  12. Turn off the power at mains.

Important Notes

  1. Raise and lower the tone arm always using the cue lever.
  2. Do not turn or stop the turntable manually.
  3. Moving or jarring the turntable without securing the tone arm clamp could result in damage to the tone arm.
  4. Before playing, the needle and record should be cleaned properly to avoid premature wear.
  5. Gently swipe the needle with a cleaning brush back to front. With a special record cloth carefully wipe the record.
  6. Before playing make sure that the needle is still in good condition, as it is prone to natural wear and tear during use. Used or splintered needles need to be replaced as they can cause damage to the record while playing. Only replace with original needles.

NOTE:

Record Care and Maintenance

To ensure the best sound and the least amount of wear on your records, it's essential that they are kept clean. Make sure your records, especially older ones, are sufficiently cleaned prior to playing them. Thoroughly clean dust off the stylus and record regularly. Use a soft brush to clean the stylus. Brush from the base to the tip as shown below.

Diagram Description: "CLEAN STYLUS WITH A SOFT BRUSH" - Illustrates cleaning the stylus from base to tip with a brush.

Diagram Description: Stylus assembly components including cartridge.

For records with only light amounts of dust, we recommend brushing them off with a carbon fiber brush or velvet pad before playing them. Use a good-quality record cleaner and brush set to keep your records clean. Carbon fiber brushes, velvet pads, and record cleaning kits are available online or in local record stores.

Features

Autostop Switch ON/OFF

This switch turns the auto stop-function on/off. When the automatic stop is enabled, the platform will start rotating as soon as the tone arm is placed over the record and will stop rotating when it has reached the end of the record. Some vinyl records stop before the end or do not stop when the end is reached. In this case set Auto-stop to OFF.

Arm Clip

This arm clip secures the tonearm while at rest or when not in use. The arm clip has been designed to remain in the up position whilst unlocked.

Bluetooth Mode

To pair the unit with your phone:

  1. Turn on the Power knob, note that this also controls volume.
  2. The tonearm should be at the lock position.
  3. The blue indicator is now flashing.
  4. To pair the unit with your phone:
    1. Turn on the Bluetooth function in the phone or tablet. For instructions, see your mobile phone user guide.
    2. Please make sure the unit is in BT mode. Choose "VPB-262" on your phone to connect the unit's Bluetooth. After connected, your phone will show "Connected".
    3. After the connection is successful, the indicator light will become a blue color without flashing. Then it can start to play from your device.
    4. Turn the VOLUME CONTROL KNOB to adjust the volume. (The mobile phone or tablet PC's volume control may also impact on Volume Level so ensure this is also turned up or down).
