Battery Operation
- Remove the battery cover on the rear by pushing the battery door in and downwards.
- Insert four LR14 (C size) batteries, ensuring correct polarity as shown inside the compartment. Replace the battery cover.
- Signs of low batteries include reduced power, distortion, and a 'stuttering' sound.
- Remove batteries if the radio will not be used for an extended period.
For economy, use the mains power whenever possible. Battery operation is recommended for occasional or stand-by use.
IMPORTANT: Do not expose batteries to excessive heat. Dispose of used disposable batteries at a suitable recycling centre. Do not incinerate batteries.
Mains Operation
- Place the radio on a flat surface.
- Plug the mains lead into the mains socket on the rear of the radio, ensuring it is fully inserted.
- Plug the other end of the mains lead into a wall socket and switch on the wall socket.
IMPORTANT: The mains plug is the primary means of disconnecting the radio from the mains supply. Ensure the mains socket remains accessible during normal use. To fully disconnect, remove the mains plug from the wall socket.
Operating your radio - FM
- Switch on the radio using the On/Off button.
- Press the FM button to select the FM waveband.
- Adjust the Volume control until a hissing sound is heard.
- Rotate the Tuning control to select the desired station. The FM tuning scale is marked in Megahertz (MHz).
- For best FM reception, fully extend the Telescopic aerial and adjust its angle and position.
- Adjust the Volume to the desired listening level.
- Adjust the Bass and Treble controls as required.
- To switch off the radio, press the On/Off button.
Operating your radio (Medium and Long wave)
- Switch on the radio using the On/Off button.
- Press either the MW or LW button to select the waveband.
- Adjust the Volume control until a hissing sound is heard.
- Rotate the Tuning control to select the desired station. The MW and LW tuning scales are marked in kilohertz (kHz).
- For best MW or LW reception, rotate the radio to achieve the strongest signal.
- Adjust the Volume to the desired listening level.
- Adjust the Bass and Treble controls as required. Rotating controls clockwise increases bass or treble.
- To switch off the radio, press the On/Off button.
Note: The telescopic aerial is not effective on MW and LW bands.
Troubleshooting: In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge, try turning the unit off and on. A more complete reset may be needed by removing all power sources (battery and mains) when the unit is turned off.

Headphones
1. A 3.5mm Headphone Socket is located on the right end of the radio. Use with headphones or an earpiece. Inserting the headphone plug automatically mutes the internal loudspeaker.
IMPORTANT: Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss.
General
- Do not expose the unit to dripping or splashing.
- Avoid leaving the radio in excessively hot places, such as a parked car in the sun.
- It is recommended to use the FM band for better quality and less interference compared to MW or LW bands.
- Do not place objects filled with liquids (e.g., vases) on the radio.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 10cm (recommended) to adjacent objects for proper ventilation.
- Do not obstruct ventilation openings with items like newspapers or tablecloths.
- Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, on the product.
