2-3 Installing the CPU and CPU Cooler

CPU Installation Precautions: Ensure motherboard CPU support. Always turn off and unplug the computer before installation. Align the CPU's pin one marking (triangle) or notches with the socket's alignment keys. Apply a thin, even layer of thermal grease on the CPU surface. Do not power on without a CPU cooler installed to prevent overheating. Set CPU host frequency according to specifications; avoid exceeding them without understanding implications.

CPU Orientation: The CPU socket and CPU have alignment keys and notches. The CPU socket has a triangle marking for pin one. The CPU also has a triangle marking and notches for correct orientation.

CPU Installation Steps:

  1. Gently press the CPU socket lever down and away, then lift the locking lever completely. Hold the plastic protective cover attached to the metal load plate and lift it open.
  2. Hold the CPU by its edges. Align the CPU's pin one marking (triangle) or notches with the corresponding markings on the CPU socket. Gently insert the CPU.
  3. Ensure the CPU is properly installed, then close the load plate and secure the socket lever. The protective cover will pop off. Always replace the protective cover when the CPU is not installed.

Do not force the CPU socket locking lever if the CPU is not installed correctly, as this can damage the CPU and socket.

CPU Cooler Installation: Apply thermal grease to the CPU. For Type A coolers, hook the clip to the mounting lug and secure it. For Type B coolers, remove the retention frame, align the cooler's shoulder screws with the standoffs, and fasten screws in a 1-2-3-4 pattern. Connect the CPU cooler's power connector to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.

2-4 Installing the Memory

Memory Installation Precautions: Ensure motherboard memory support. Use memory modules of the same capacity, brand, and speed. Turn off and unplug the computer before installation. Memory modules are keyed for one-way insertion. Install in DDR5_A2 socket first.

Recommended Memory Configurations:

ModulesDDR5_A1DDR5_A2DDR5_B1DDR5_B2
1 Module---
2 Modules*--
4 Modules*

* Recommended Dual Channel Memory Configurations.

Dual Channel Memory Configuration: The motherboard has four memory sockets supporting Dual Channel Technology. This doubles memory bandwidth. Sockets are divided into Channel A (DDR5_A1, DDR5_A2) and Channel B (DDR5_B1, DDR5_B2). For Dual Channel mode, at least two modules are required, and using identical modules is recommended.

2-5 Installing an Expansion Card

Expansion Card Installation Precautions: Ensure motherboard support for the expansion card. Turn off and unplug the computer before installation.

Installation Steps:

  1. Locate a compatible expansion slot and remove the chassis back panel slot cover.
  2. Align the card with the slot and press down until fully seated.
  3. Ensure the expansion card is fully seated.
  4. Secure the card's metal bracket to the chassis back panel with a screw.
  5. Replace the chassis cover(s).
  6. Turn on the computer. Adjust BIOS settings if necessary for the expansion card.
  7. Install the driver provided with the expansion card.

2-6 Back Panel Connectors

  • Clear CMOS Button: Resets BIOS configuration to factory defaults. Always turn off and unplug the computer before use. Do not use while the system is on.
