Preparation
Tools Required:
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Flathead Screwdriver
- Tape measure or ruler
Important Notes:
Door Preparation:
Prepare your door by removing the existing deadbolt or using the provided template to bore new holes. Ensure the door's cross-bore is 2-1/8" (54mm) and the backset is either 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm). The edge bore should be 1" (25mm).
REPLACE YOUR EXISTING OLD DEADBOLT. USE THE INCLUDED DEADBOLT DESIGNED AND OPTIMIZED FOR LOCKLY SMART LOCKS. The integrated deadbolt includes a smart door sensor to detect the open/closed status of your door. You may need to increase the depth of the groove depending on the gap between the door and door frame.
Step 1: Adjust Deadbolt and Install
The deadbolt defaults to a 2-3/4" (70mm) backset. If the deadbolt slot is aligned with the center of the door hole, you can skip the following adjustment steps.
To adjust the deadbolt to a 2-3/8" (60mm) backset:
- Hold the metal plate (C) and twist the deadbolt body (D) clockwise until it snaps into the 2-3/8" (60mm) position.
- To return to the default 2-3/4" (70mm) setting, hold the metal plate (C) and twist the deadbolt body (D) counter-clockwise until it snaps into place.
Extend the deadbolt by inserting a flat-head screwdriver into the slot and turning clockwise.
Insert the extended deadbolt into the door edge. Ensure the right side is up and the slot is vertical. Secure it with two (2) K screws.
Observe the cable's position to ensure it aligns with your door's opening orientation (Left/Right Swing) and the Backset size (60mm/70mm).
Step 2: Installing Exterior Assembly (B)
- Peel off the protective film from the adhesive strips (E).
- Ensure the torque blade is in a vertical position with the deadbolt extended.
- Guide the cable through under the deadbolt by gently pulling it from the inside, ensuring it remains straight and not bent. Mount the exterior assembly by aligning it securely with the exterior surface of the door and ensuring it is flush.
Step 3: Installing Interior Assembly (G)
- Peel off the protective film from the adhesive strips on the back of the mounting plate (D). Guide connection cables through the hole and secure to the notch on the lower left corner. Align the mounting plate onto the door and firmly press to secure it in place.
- Insert and hand-tighten two (2) F screws on the left and right of the blade. Check alignment and insert screws through the circular holes on both sides of the deadbolt torque blade, aligning them with the screw holes on the exterior assembly. Ensure screws do not compress or damage the cable, then tighten with a screwdriver until the mounting plate is securely attached to the door. ? QUICK TIP: When installing screws by hand, turn them clockwise several turns, then counterclockwise one turn to ensure smooth threading and prevent cross-threading.
- Use the key to ensure the deadbolt locks and unlocks smoothly. Rapid beeping indicates an issue, such as misalignment or excessive rubbing/binding.
4. Plug the cables coming through mounting plate (D) into the interior assembly (G) as shown, routing them to the right of the interior assembly (G).
Connect A1 to A2, B1 to B2, C1 to C2, and D1 to D2 as illustrated.
For assistance if pins are not centered or bent, call Customer Care at (669) 500-8835.
5. Insert the connected cables (C1+C2) and (D1+D2) into the grooves on the side. Ensure the foam pads attached to the cables are secured to prevent movement.
Tuck the cables behind the cable rail of the interior assembly.
Hold the cables together to prevent movement and prepare for mounting onto the door.
6. Before placing the interior assembly onto the mounting plate, ensure the thumb turn is vertical.
7. Place the interior assembly against the mounting plate, ensuring the torque blade is inserted into the thumb turn shaft.
8. Secure the interior assembly to the mounting plate with two (2) H screws.
Torque Blade & Thumb Turn Shaft Alignment: Ensure both are in the vertical position.
Step 4: Installing Battery
- With the door open and deadbolt fully extended, insert the lithium battery. Secure it on the provided slot of the interior assembly. (Optional) Tighten the screw on the right side. ❗ IMPORTANT: If this is your first time using the battery, ensure it has been fully charged using any standard 5V USB charger.
- After securing the battery, use the pin key from the accessory bag to HOLD the program button for 10 seconds. The lock will start a self-check. Release the button once the check begins. This process determines the door swing direction and is crucial for correct installation. ❗ IMPORTANT: If the lock is not properly installed, it will open and close repeatedly.
- Once the self-check completes, ensure the lock operates smoothly by manually locking and unlocking the door using the thumb turn. The deadbolt should operate without interference or binding. If issues occur, repeat step 2, ensuring (a) the deadbolt was extended and (b) the torque blade was inserted vertically.
- Swipe your hand across the touchscreen. The lock should close (lock). If the touchscreen is ON, touch the lock icon [?], and the lock should also engage. If the deadbolt bounces back or unlocks automatically, it indicates an incorrect installation. Go back and repeat step 2.
Step 5: Installing Strike Plate
Use the supplied door strike plate (L), which includes a built-in door sensor magnet.
If your door gap is larger than 5mm, it is recommended to install the Strike Spacer (P) to reduce the gap and ensure proper operation of the door sensor.
USE THE INCLUDED DOOR STRIKE PLATE WITH INTEGRATED DOOR SENSOR. Depending on your door and door frame gap, you may need to increase the groove depth or use a strike spacer.
When installing the deadbolt and door strike, ensure the two red marks are aligned.

Step 6: Setup the Hub
To enable video doorbell, live monitoring, and voice control with Hey Google and Alexa, you need to set up the included Vision Connect Wi-Fi hub with your Lockly Vision™ Elite smart lock + video doorbell.
Hub Components: Antenna, LED status lights, LAN cable, Power adapter, TF card.
Step 7: Lockly App & Unique Activation Code
Before setting up the Vision Connect Hub, download the Lockly app on your smartphone. This is required to complete the connection setup between the hub and the lock.
Scan the QR code, visit the app store, or go to Lockly.com/app.
You will also need the Activation Card with a unique pre-paired QR code for your lock. This card is in the packaging. The QR code can also be found at the bottom of the Vision Connect Hub. Keep it in a safe place, as it is required for setup and for resetting your smartphone or access code.
Step 8: Location Guidelines
The Vision Connect Hub connects directly to your Wi-Fi router via the provided LAN cable. Choose an appropriate location for optimal performance. For best connectivity, set up the hub LESS than 100 feet (30 meters) away from the lock and elevated at least 3 feet (1 meter) off the ground.
During setup, position yourself between the lock and the Vision Connect hub, ideally no more than 100 feet (30 meters) apart. Ensure your iOS or Android™ device has both Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi enabled.
Step 9: Vision Connect Hub Setup
Ensure the TF card included with Vision Connect is properly inserted.
Connect the LAN cable to the closest Wi-Fi router to the Lockly Vision™ Elite lock (within 100ft). Always keep the Antenna in the UP position.
Connect the power cable and plug the USB power adapter into an outlet.
Wait 2 minutes for the hub to self-calibrate. The LEDs will turn RED and blink yellow.
Vision Connect is now ready to connect to your iOS or Android™ device. Refer to the troubleshooting section if LEDs do not meet the described conditions.
Step 10: Pair Vision Lock to App
Launch the Lockly App and select "add a new device", then select "Vision". You will be prompted to scan the QR code from the Activation Card or the Vision Connect Hub.
