1. Download and Install

Search for "Be Connect 2.0" at the Google Play/App Store or scan the QR code in Figure 1 to download the App.

Figure 1 QR Code of the App

Be Connect 2.0 is available in English, German, Spanish, France and Italian. The language of the app will follow the language of the mobile device system. The display language will be English if the mobile device system uses languages other than the five ones listed above.

2. Status Bar

There are three status bars at the top of the display (Figure 2):

3. Privacy Policy

Click "Agree" to continue. This is shown only once after the app is installed.

4. Download Firmware

Ensure the Internet is available. The app compares the firmware stored in the mobile device with the server. If the server has a higher version, the app will download it automatically or prompt you to download if using cellular data.

If no Internet is available, click "Skip" after reading the notice to continue. Downloading the latest firmware version is strongly recommended if Internet access is possible.

5. Connect to Battery Wi-Fi

Click "To WiFi Settings" to go to the Wi-Fi setting page (for Android; for iOS, go to settings manually). The Wi-Fi name begins with BYD. If multiple BYD Wi-Fi networks are available, ensure you select the correct one. The Wi-Fi name and default password can be found on the label at the BMU or BCU.

6. Firmware Update

The firmware update starts automatically if conditions are met. This process may take one to ten minutes.

Keep the app in the foreground during the update.

If the BMS firmware is updated, the battery system will undergo an internal update within five minutes, potentially lasting ten minutes. Some app functions may be unavailable during this period.

If the update is interrupted, check the Wi-Fi connection and ensure the battery system is on.

If the battery system firmware is newer than your mobile device's, you cannot proceed. If you are certain your firmware is the latest, contact your local service partner. Otherwise, download the latest firmware first.

7. Configuration

You can configure the battery at this step (Figure 8). Configuration is necessary if the battery has not been configured before. Refer to the Minimum Configuration List or Compatible Inverter List before proceeding.

End customers should click "No" to skip configuration and avoid incorrect settings that could cause system shutdown.

Choose the inverter brand that will operate with the battery system (Figure 11). If your intended inverter is not listed, consult the latest Compatible Inverter List or Minimum Configuration List.

The "Model" in Figure 12 refers to the battery system model.

For a single LVS/LVS Lite tower, a maximum of 6 battery modules are allowed. For two or more towers connected in parallel, a maximum of 4 battery modules per tower is allowed.

For LVS/LVS Lite, LV Flex/LV Flex Lite, and LVL, the quantity selected is the total number of battery modules in the entire system (Figure 12).

For LV battery systems (LVS/LVL/LV Flex, etc.), configuring the application mode is also required. Incorrect configuration can lead to suboptimal system performance.

For HV battery systems (HVS/HVM/HVL/HVM-US), if adding modules to an existing system, ensure the SOC of the new modules is approximately the same as the existing ones. This is crucial to avoid capacity loss without recalibration.

Configuration can also be accessed via the main menu (Figure 14).

8. Main Menu

Access the main menu by pressing the three dots at the top-left corner (Figure 13).

The product model and Serial Number are displayed at the top of the interface.

Press "More" in Figure 14 for additional items.

The "Service Guideline" item provides access to the Service Guideline document for troubleshooting, also available on the website.

The "Configuration" item allows reconfiguring the battery system.

The "Information" item (Figure 15) displays basic battery system information.

9. Status

BMU and BMS data refresh every five seconds (Figure 13).

10. Events

The default historical events cover the past half month, including both BMU and BMS events.

If events are unreadable or beyond the past half month, contact your local service partner.

If events are unreadable, contact a local service partner.

Internal Communication Failure: Indicates a BMU<>BMS communication issue. Check the LED event code and refer to the Service Guideline.

Monitoring Module Warning: Signifies an error. Refer to the service checklist. No Monitoring Module Warning means everything is normal, and no action is required.

11. Upload logs

This function is for providing logs to BYD service partners to help diagnose issues.

Logs can be uploaded to the BYD server for service partners to access. The default log time range is one month, but other ranges can be selected (Figure 16 and Figure 17).

After downloading logs from the battery, ensure your mobile device has Internet access. Once uploaded, you can reconnect to the battery Wi-Fi for other operations (Figure 18).

12. Miscellaneous

If you see the notice "No reply from the battery system", check if the battery system is powered on.

If you see the notice "The battery system is busy. Please try again later", wait about ten minutes and try again. If the issue persists, restart the battery system or use a different mobile device.

If firmware upload or configuration cannot be completed, download the PC application (Be Connect Plus) from the website: www.bydbatterybox.com/downloads.
