Content
1. Download and Install
Search for "Be Connect 2.0" on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Alternatively, scan the QR code provided in Figure 1 to download the app.
Figure 1: QR Code for App Download.
The Be Connect 2.0 app supports English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian. The app's display language will automatically match the mobile device's system language. If the mobile device uses a language other than these five, the app will default to English.
2. Status Bar
The app interface features three status bars at the top (Figure 2):
- Yellow: Indicates notifications or messages from the app that do not require immediate action, such as network status changes. These can be dismissed by clicking the cross icon.
- Green: Displays network status, such as cellular data connection or the name of the connected Wi-Fi network.
- Red: Shows real-time events or communication errors between the mobile device and the battery system. BMU stands for Battery Management Unit, the control unit for the battery system.

3. Privacy Policy
Upon first use after installation, you will be prompted to review the Privacy Policy. Click "Agree" to continue using the app.
Figure 3: Screenshot of the Privacy Policy screen with "Refuse" and "Agree" options.
4. Download Firmware
Ensure your mobile device has an active internet connection. The app will compare the firmware on your device with the version available on the server. If the server version is newer, the app will download it automatically or prompt you to download if using cellular data.
If no internet is available, you can click "Skip" after reading the notice to proceed. It is highly recommended to download the latest firmware version whenever an internet connection is available.

5. Connect to Battery Wi-Fi
To connect, tap "To Wi-Fi Settings". For Android, this directs you to the Wi-Fi settings. For iOS, navigate to the system settings manually.
The battery Wi-Fi network name typically starts with "BYD". If multiple BYD Wi-Fi networks are visible, select the correct one. The Wi-Fi name and default password can be found on the label of the BMU or BCU.
For the first-time connection, a prompt will appear asking to change the Wi-Fi password (Figure 7). Click "OK" to access the Wi-Fi change interface. After changing the password, you must reconnect to the battery Wi-Fi using the new password.

Notes:
- The battery system's Wi-Fi may disappear after five hours of system operation. If you cannot find it, restart the battery system or briefly press the LED button (around one second) while the system is on to reactivate the Wi-Fi.
- If connection fails, tap the three dots [menu icon] in the top left corner of the interface and select "Service Guideline" for troubleshooting.
- To change the Wi-Fi password, navigate to the main menu (Figure 18) from the Status interface (Figure 17) by tapping the three dots [menu icon], then select "Battery Network Management".
- If you forget the password, press the LED button three times (each press around one second) within six seconds while the battery system is on to reset the Wi-Fi. A successful reset is indicated by five quick blinks of the LED light.
6. Firmware Update
Firmware updates typically start automatically. The process can take one to ten minutes depending on the situation.
- Keep the app in the foreground during the update.
- If the BMS (Battery Management System) firmware is updated, the battery system may perform an internal update, which can last up to ten minutes. Some app functions might be unavailable during this period.
- If an update stops, verify the Wi-Fi connection and ensure the battery system is powered on.
- If the battery system's firmware is newer than your mobile device's, you cannot proceed. If you are certain your device's firmware is the latest, contact your local service partner. Otherwise, download the latest firmware version.
7. Configuration
You can choose to configure the battery system at this step (Figure 14). Configuration is mandatory if the battery has not been previously set up. Ensure you have consulted the Minimum Configuration List or Compatible Inverter List before proceeding.
End customers should click "No" to skip configuration to prevent potential system shutdowns due to incorrect settings.
Figure 14: Configuration Notice screen asking "Do you want to configure the system?" with options "No" and "Yes".
Select the inverter brand that will work with the battery system (Figure 15). If your intended inverter is not listed, check the latest Compatible Inverter List or Minimum Configuration List.
Figure 15: Inverter Configuration screen showing a list of inverter brands with "SMA" selected.
In Figure 16, "Model" refers to the specific battery system model.
- For a single LVS/LVS Lite tower, a maximum of 6 battery modules can be installed. For parallel towers (two or more), a maximum of 4 modules are allowed per tower.
- For LVS/LVS Lite, LV Flex/LV Flex Lite, and LVL systems, the quantity selected represents the total number of battery modules in the entire system.
- For LV systems (e.g., LVS/LVL/LV Flex), selecting the correct application mode is crucial. Incorrect configuration can lead to system malfunction.
- For HV systems (HVS/HVM/HVL/HVM-US), if adding new modules, ensure their State of Charge (SOC) is approximately the same as the existing modules to avoid capacity loss without recalibration.
Configuration can also be performed via the main menu (Figure 18).
Figure 16: System Configuration screen showing model selection and quantity of battery modules.
9. Status
Data from the BMU and BMS is refreshed every five seconds (Figure 17).
10. Events
The default view shows historical events from the past half-month, covering both BMU and BMS events.
- If events are not displayed or the desired events are older than half a month, contact your local service partner.
- If events cannot be read, please contact a local service partner.
- "Internal Communication Failure" indicates a communication issue between BMU and BMS. Check the LED event code and refer to the Service Guideline.
- "Monitoring Module Warning" signifies an error. Consult the service checklist. "No Monitoring Module Warning" means all systems are normal and no action is required.
11. Upload logs
This function is used to provide diagnostic logs to BYD service partners.
Logs can be uploaded to the BYD server, allowing service partners to analyze them for issue diagnosis.
The default log time range is one month, but other ranges can be selected (Figure 20 and Figure 21).
After downloading logs from the battery, ensure your mobile device has internet access. Once uploaded, you can reconnect to the battery Wi-Fi to continue other operations (Figure 22).

12. Miscellaneous
- If you see the notice "No reply from the battery system", check if the battery system is powered on.
- If the notice "The battery system is busy. Please try again later" appears, wait approximately ten minutes and try again. If the issue persists, restart the battery system or try using a different mobile device.
- If firmware upload or configuration fails, download the PC application (Be Connect Plus) from the website: www.bydbatterybox.com/downloads.
13. Contact Us
If you encounter any issues with the app, please contact BYD support or your local service partner. Provide app screenshots or videos of specific behaviors to help diagnose the problem.
