Smooth and seamless with a strong focus on minimalism, Hyundai's first-ever clamshell hood spans the entire width of the car – minimizing panel gaps for a clean, high-tech look. The crown jewels of the iconic front-end presence are the distinctive LED headlamps with their 256 Parametric Pixels – unique jewel-like design elements that will feature on the exterior of all future IONIQ models.

As eye-catching as it is, the IONIQ 5 has been carefully engineered for enhanced aerodynamics – leading to a phenomenal 0.288 drag coefficient, one of the best in its class. Aerodynamic components like active front air flaps, a full under-body covering, and the rear spoiler minimize drag and maximize performance. The spoiler's hidden holes induce flow pressure to the rear glass and improve the clean flow characteristics of the wake. This aerodynamic efficiency helps you go farther on every single charge and delivers optimal quietness through wind noise reduction.

• Front bumper with active air flap: Defined by a V-shape emphasizing the kinetic cube LED headlamps, the active air flap improves energy efficiency when closed and cools vehicle parts when open.
• Parametric Pixels rear light signature: The innovative LED lighting design harmonizes powerfully with the rear bumper and hatch, featuring rectangular Parametric Pixels rear light signature and slice rear reflectors.

Designed to fit your life, the versatile IONIQ 5 offers ample room for passengers and cargo. Its 3000-mm wheelbase provides the spaciousness of a large passenger car in a mid-size CUV, offering a trunk capacity of 527 litres. With the 60:40 foldable seats down, cargo space expands to almost 1,600 litres, perfect for weekend escapes. The IONIQ 5 also has the capacity to tow a trailer weighing up to 1,600 kg. Additionally, the space normally occupied by a petrol engine now provides an extra 57 litres of cargo space in the front boot.

Live, drive, work, relax.

Inside the IONIQ 5, the lines between living space and moving space are blurred. Our dedicated EV platform enables a new in-car experience with a larger flat floor, highly adjustable front seats, and a flexible centre console. Environmentally friendly materials are used throughout: seats are clad in eco-processed leather dyed with plant oil extractions from flaxseed. Raw materials from sugar cane are used for the headliner, carpet, and seat covers. Other soft furnishings use textiles derived from wool and poly yarns, and materials woven from recycled PET plastic bottles. Surfaces like the dashboard, switches, steering wheel, and door panels are coated in a polyurethane bio paint derived from rape flowers and corn, contributing to sustainability.

The IONIQ 5 is a game changer, offering amazing performance and smart tech. It is available with two battery pack options: 58 kWh (Standard Range) or 72.6 kWh (Long Range). Choose between a rear-wheel drive (single electric motor) or an all-wheel drive (dual electric motors) version. The IONIQ 5 delivers sporty acceleration, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds in the all-wheel drive version with the 72.6 kWh battery, with a top speed of 185 km/h. Hyundai's signature HTRAC all-wheel drive system provides serious 4x4 capabilities for various conditions.

Leading the charge into the electric era with E-GMP.

The IONIQ 5 is the first vehicle built on Hyundai's new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This dedicated battery electric vehicle platform enables faster charging, increased driving range, more interior space, and better handling. The battery pack's position within the wheelbase ensures ideal weight distribution and a low centre of gravity for improved handling. Installing the battery under the floor pan eliminates the centre tunnel, resulting in a perfectly flat floor, increasing leg room and enhancing the feeling of openness.

• Platform Structure: Features a multi-frame structure and safety technologies for passenger and battery protection. Includes a collision energy absorption zone to disperse crash forces, a load support zone to minimize impact energy on the PE system and battery, and an ultra-high strength steel support structure shielding the high-voltage battery.
• Power Electrical System (PE): This next-generation system integrates the drive motor, decelerator, and inverter into a single unit, raising system efficiency and driving range.
• Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU): Utilizes high voltage Silicone Carbide to support 800V charging and V2L charging.
• Key Components: Includes integrated front and rear traction motors, battery system, and a bi-directional charging plug.

Batteries/Range/Performance.

The IONIQ 5 is available with two battery options: 58 kWh (Standard Range) or 72.6 kWh (Long Range). You can choose between rear-wheel drive (single electric motor) or all-wheel drive (dual electric motors). The 72.6 kWh battery delivers 305 PS (225 kW) in AWD, while the 58 kWh battery provides 170 PS (125 kW) in 2WD.

• Range: Up to 430 km (72.6 kWh battery) or 384 km (58 kWh battery) according to WLTP cycle. Range may vary based on driving conditions, style, and tyre type.
• Regenerative braking: Utilizes cutting-edge technology to charge the battery while driving. Control regeneration levels via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Holding the left paddle shifter activates maximum regenerative braking for slowing to a stop. The Smart Regenerative Braking System uses radar sensors to automatically adjust braking. A one-pedal mode is also available.

Ultra-fast charging / Fast charging.

Experience best-in-class charging times. Add 100 km of range in 5 minutes at an ultra-fast charging station, and charge from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes. Hyundai's patented technology supports both 400V and 800V charging infrastructure without additional adapters.

Home charging / AC charging.

The IONIQ 5 offers flexible charging possibilities at home or at charging stations. The powerful 11 kW on-board charger allows for overnight charging to take advantage of off-peak rates or topping up at grocery stores. Charging times: 72.6 kWh Battery: 6 hours 6 minutes. 58 kWh battery: 5 hours (EU 3-phase 230V).

Vehicle-to-Load technology.

IONIQ 5's Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology allows you to power or charge electric devices like laptops or electric bikes. An on-board 230V electrical socket in the backseat enables use on the move or at location. A converter plugged into the bidirectional exterior charging port can power devices up to 3.6 kW, even when the vehicle is turned off.

Enjoy maximum safety and convenience with Hyundai's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The IONIQ 5 features Level 2 autonomous safety technology with Highway Driving Assist II, which controls speed, distance, and assists with lane changes and collision avoidance.

• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA): Stops the car by automatically applying full braking power if you don't react to slowing or stopped vehicles, cyclists, or pedestrians.
• Lane Following Assist (LFA): Keeps the vehicle centered in its lane at speeds between 0 and 185 km/h on highways and city streets.
• Lane Keeping Assist (LKA): Sends visual and audible alerts if you drift out of your lane without signaling and initiates subtle corrective steering assistance.
• Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA): Warns you and automatically applies brakes and controls steering when a vehicle is detected in your blind spot during a lane change.
• Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA): Alerts the driver when the vehicle ahead departs from an idle state.
• Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA): Warns and automatically applies brakes when vehicles approach from the side while reversing.
• Driver Attention Warning (DAW): Alerts you with a pop-up message suggesting a break if fatigue or distraction is identified.
• High Beam Assist (HBA): Automatically switches between high and low beams based on oncoming traffic and vehicles ahead.
• Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA): Recognizes road speed signs and adjusts vehicle speed to match the speed limit when activated.
