Safety Precautions

WARNING: Failure to follow a warning is very likely to result in such grave consequences as death or serious injury.

CAUTION: Failure to follow a caution may result in serious injury or property damage, and in certain conditions, may result in a grave consequence.

WARNING

Do not expose your body to the cool air for a long time, do not cool the room too much. It will affect your physical conditions and cause health problems.

Do not put a finger, a rod or other objects into the air outlet or inlet. As the fan is rotating at a high speed, it will cause injury.

Do not attempt to repair, relocate, modify or reinstall the air conditioner by yourself. Incorrect work will cause electric shocks, fire etc. For repairs and reinstallation, consult the shop where you bought the air conditioner.

If anything abnormal such as a burning smell occurs, stop the operation immediately and turn the breaker OFF. Continued abnormal operation will cause troubles, electric shocks, fire etc. If anything is abnormal, consult the shop where you bought the air conditioner.

If the air conditioner is not cooling or heating properly, the refrigerant may be leaking, so see the dealer where the unit was purchased. Check with a qualified repairman before attempting any repairs, which might accompany addition of refrigerant. The refrigerant used in the air conditioner is safe. Although leaks should not occur, if for some reason any refrigerant happens to leak into the room, make sure it does not come in contact with any flame, such as fan heaters, kerosene heaters, or gas ranges, as this may result noxious substances being generated.

CAUTION

Do not use the air conditioner for preservation purposes. Do not use it for preserving precision instruments, foods, plants, animals, works of fine arts etc. Performance or quality may deteriorate and animal or plant life may be shorter.

Do not operate the air conditioner with a wet hand. It may cause an electric shock.

Ventilate the room from time to time. Be careful especially when using a burning appliance in the same room. Insufficient ventilation may cause shortage of oxygen.

Before cleaning, be sure to stop the operation and turn the breaker OFF. As a fan is rotating at a high speed, cleaning during operation may cause injury.

After a long use, check the unit stand and fittings for damage. The unit may drop and cause injury if damage is left unrepaired.

Do not stand or sit on the outdoor unit. Do not place any object on the unit. The object or the person may fall down or drop, causing injury.

Do not place under the indoor or outdoor unit anything which must be kept away from moisture. Indoor unit: moisture in the air may condense and drip in certain conditions. Outdoor: during cooling operation, condensation may drip from the piping connections.

Do not wash the unit with water. It may cause an electric shock.

Do not place a burning appliance in places exposed to the air flow from the unit or under the indoor unit. It may cause incomplete combustion or deformation of the unit from heat.

Do not place a vessel containing water on the unit. Water may penetrate into the unit and degrade electrical insulations, resulting in an electric shock.

Do not expose plants or animals directly to the air flow. It may cause adverse effects on the plant or the animal.

Do not block air inlets nor outlets. Impaired air flow may result in insufficient performance or troubles.

Do not allow children to mount on the outdoor unit or avoid placing any object on it. Falling or tumbling may result in injury.

Installation

WARNING

Do not attempt to install the air conditioner by yourself. Consult the service shop or a qualified technician. Incorrect work will result in water leakage, electric shocks or fire. For installation, consult the service shop where you bought the unit or a qualified technician.

The air conditioner must be earthed. Incomplete earthing may result in electric shocks. Do not connect the earth line to a gas pipe, water pipe, lightening rod, or a telephone earth line.

CAUTION

Depending on the environment, an earth leakage breaker must be installed. Lack of an earth leakage breaker may result in electric shocks.

Do not install the air conditioner in places where flammable gas may leak. If leaked gas should accumulate near the unit, fire may occur.

Arrange the drain hose to ensure smooth drainage. Incomplete drainage may cause wetting of the building, furniture etc.

Do not connect the air conditioner to a power supply different from the specification. It may cause trouble or fire.

Do not place objects in direct proximity of the outdoor unit and do not let leaves and other debris accumulate around the unit. Leaves are a hotbed for small animals which can enter the unit. Once in the unit, such animals can cause malfunctions, smoke or fire when making contact with electrical parts.

Installation Site

To install the air conditioner in the following types of environments, consult the shop:

The drain from the outdoor unit must be discharged to a place of good drainage.

Electrical Work

For power supply, be sure to use a separate power circuit dedicated to the air conditioner.

System Relocation

Relocating the air conditioner requires specialized knowledge and skills. Please consult the shop where you bought the air conditioner if relocation is necessary for moving or remodeling.

Operation lamp (green):

Diagram Description (Indoor Unit): The diagram shows the indoor unit with labels pointing to the air inlet, air outlet, front grille, grille tab, louvre (vertical blades) inside the air outlet, and flap (horizontal blade). Indicator lamps, including an ON/OFF button and a TIMER lamp, are also shown.

CAUTION: Before opening the front grille, be sure to stop the operation and turn the breaker OFF. If the power is on, the fan may rotate inside and may cause injury.

Receiver: It receives signals from the remote controller. When the unit receives a signal, you will hear a short beep.

Room temperature sensor: It senses the air temperature around the unit.

ON/OFF button: Push this button once to start operation. Push once again to stop it. This button is useful when the remote controller is missing.

The operation mode refers to the following table:

Remote Controller

Diagram Description (Remote Controller): The remote controller is shown with a cover that can be opened. It features a display showing current settings. Buttons include POWERFUL, MODE selector, ON TIMER, OFF TIMER, TIMER Setting, ON/OFF, TEMPERATURE adjustment, FAN setting, SWING, TIMER CANCEL, and CLOCK.

Transmitter: It sends signals to the indoor unit.

Preparation Before Operation

Remote Controller

Setting the Batteries

Diagram Description (Battery Installation): The diagram shows how to open the battery cover by sliding it off, inserting two AAA batteries (observing correct polarity: + and -), and then reattaching the cover. The display will flash, indicating the clock needs setting.

Operating the Remote Controller: To use the remote controller, aim the transmitter at the indoor unit. Ensure no obstructions like curtains block signals. Do not drop or get the remote wet. The maximum communication distance is about 7 meters.

About Batteries

To Fix the Remote Controller Holder on the Wall

1. Choose a place where signals reach the unit.

2. Fix the holder to a wall or pillar using the supplied screws.

3. Place the remote control in the holder.

Diagram Description (Holder): Shows the remote control being placed into its wall-mounted holder and how to remove it by pulling upwards.

About the Remote Controller

Indoor Unit

Setting the Air Purifying Filters

1. Open the front grille by holding the tabs and lifting it until it clicks (about 60°).

2. Pull out the air filters by pushing upwards the center tab and pulling down.

3. Set the air purifying filters by attaching them to each air filter (See page 12).

4. Set the air filters back in their original positions and close the front grille. Operation without air filters may lead to dust accumulation inside the unit.

Setting the Clock

1. Press the CLOCK button. The AM/PM indicator and time will be displayed, with the AM/PM blinking.

2. Press the TIMER button to set the desired time. Each press adjusts by 10 minutes; holding the button adjusts rapidly.

3. Press the CLOCK button again. The time display will stop blinking, indicating the clock is set.

Turn the Breaker ON

Turning the breaker ON will cause the flap to open and then close again as a normal procedure.

Tips for Saving Energy

Be careful not to cool the room too much; moderate temperature settings save energy. Recommended cooling temperature: 26°C – 28°C.

Cover windows with blinds or curtains to block sunlight and outside air, increasing cooling effect.

Clean air filters every two weeks, as clogged filters reduce efficiency and waste energy.

Please Note

The air conditioner consumes 15–35 watts even when not operating. Turn the breaker OFF if not using the unit for extended periods (e.g., spring or autumn).

Operation

DRY • COOL • FAN Operation

The air conditioner operates with your chosen settings and remembers them for future use.

1. Press MODE and select a mode (DRY, COOL, or FAN). Each press cycles through the modes.

2. Press ON/OFF. The OPERATION lamp will light up.

To stop: Press ON/OFF again. The OPERATION lamp will turn off.

To Change the Temperature Setting:

Press TEMP to raise or lower the temperature. Set to your desired temperature.

To Change the Air Flow Rate Setting:

Press FAN. In DRY or FAN mode, the air flow rate is not variable. In COOL mode, five levels of air flow rate are available, from low to high.

Note: Lower air flow rates result in smaller cooling or heating effects.

Adjusting the Air Flow Direction

You can adjust the air flow direction for increased comfort.

Adjusting the Horizontal Blade (Flap): Press the SWING button. The flap swings up and down automatically. Press SWING again to stop the flap at your desired angle.

Notes on Flap Angles: The flap swinging range depends on the operation mode. Actual flap angles may differ from the display.

Diagram Description (Flap Angles): Shows flap positions for normal operation and upper/lower limits in cooling mode.

CAUTION: Always use the remote controller to adjust the flap angle. Forcibly moving it by hand while swinging can break the mechanism.

Adjusting the Vertical Blade (Louvre):

Hold the knob and move the louvre. Knobs are located on the left and right blades.

CAUTION: Be careful when adjusting the louvre, as the fan rotates at high speed inside the air outlet.

POWERFUL Operation

POWERFUL operation quickly maximizes cooling effect in any mode, providing maximum capacity with one button press. It lasts for 20 minutes, after which the system returns to previous settings. Other functions cannot be used during POWERFUL operation.

1. Press the POWERFUL button. The display will show the POWERFUL indicator.

To Cancel POWERFUL Operation: Press the POWERFUL button again.

Notes on POWERFUL Operation:

In COOL mode: To maximize cooling, the outdoor unit capacity is increased, and air flow rate is set to maximum. Temperature and air flow settings are not variable.

In DRY mode: The temperature setting is lowered by 3°C, and the air flow rate is slightly increased.

In FAN mode: The air flow rate is fixed to the maximum setting.

Timer Operation

Timer functions allow automatic switching of the air conditioner on or off. OFF TIMER and ON TIMER can be used in combination.

Check Clock: Ensure the clock is correct (See page 8).

OFF TIMER Operation

1. Press OFF while the air conditioner is operating. The display shows the time setting, with blinking indicators.

2. Press TIMER to set the desired time. Each press adjusts by 10 minutes; holding the button adjusts rapidly.

3. Press OFF again. The TIMER lamp lights up.

To Cancel the Timer: Press CANCEL. The TIMER lamp goes off.

ON TIMER Operation

1. Press ON while the air conditioner is not operating. The display shows the time setting, with blinking indicators.

2. Press TIMER to set the desired time. Each press adjusts by 10 minutes; holding the button adjusts rapidly.

3. Press ON again. The TIMER lamp lights up.

To Cancel the Timer: Press CANCEL. The TIMER lamp goes off.

Combining ON Timer and OFF Timer

A sample setting combines OFF TIMER at 0:00 a.m. and ON TIMER at 7:00 a.m. for a unit operating at 11:00 PM.

Notes on OFF TIMER

NIGHT SET MODE: When OFF TIMER is set, the temperature automatically adjusts (0.5°C up in COOL) to prevent excessive cooling for comfortable sleep.

Notes on ON, OFF Timer

When a timer is set, the present time is not displayed. Timer settings are stored in memory until remote controller batteries are replaced.

Actual operation length via timer may vary slightly (up to approx. 10 minutes).

ATTENTION: Reset the timer after a breaker OFF, power failure, or battery replacement in the remote controller.

Care and Cleaning

CAUTION: Before cleaning, stop operation and turn the breaker OFF.

Cleaning the Air Filters

(Recommended every two weeks)

1. Open the front grille (hold tabs, lift until click).

2. Pull out air filters (push center tab upwards, pull down).

3. Clean filters: Wash with water or use a vacuum cleaner. For stubborn dust, use neutral detergent diluted with lukewarm water, then dry in shade.

4. Reinstall filters and close the front grille. Ensure filter claws insert into slots and the grille locks at three points.

NOTE: In dusty environments, clean filters every two weeks. Dirty filters reduce cooling capacity and waste energy.

Cleaning the Indoor and Outdoor Units and the Remote Controller

Wipe with a dry soft cloth. Do not use water hotter than 40°C, benzine, gasoline, thinner, volatile oils, polishing compound, scrubbing brushes, or hard materials.

Replacing Air Purifying Filters

(Recommended every three months)

Air purifying filters need regular replacement.

1. Open front grille and pull out air filters.

2. Take off the air purifying filters from their frames.

3. Detach the old filter element and attach a new one.

4. Attach the air purifying filter.

5. Set the air filters back and close the front grille.

NOTE: To order filters, contact the service shop. Used filter elements are disposable. Dirty filters cannot clean air, reduce cooling, and may cause odor.

Cleaning the Front Grille

You may remove the front grille for cleaning.

CAUTION: Use a stable stool and be careful when removing/attaching the grille. Support it securely to prevent falling. Do not use harsh cleaning agents. Ensure the grille is securely fixed after cleaning.

1. Open the front grille.

2. Remove the front grille: Support with one hand, slide the knob down to release the lock, then pull the grille towards you with both hands.

3. Clean the front grille: Wipe with a water-dampened soft cloth. Neutral detergent may be used. You can wash it with water, then dry with a cloth and in the shade.

4. Attach the front grille: Insert the three keys into the slots and push fully. Support the grille, slide the knob up to fit the lock, then close slowly, pushing at three points.

Check

Check the outdoor unit's base, stand, and fittings for decay or corrosion.

Check that air inlets and outlets of both indoor and outdoor units are not blocked.

Check that the earth wire is connected and not broken.

Check that drain water flows smoothly from the drain hose during COOL or DRY operation. If no drain water is seen, there might be a leak; stop operation and consult the service shop.

Before a Long Idle Period

1. Operate the fan alone for several hours on a fine day to dry the inside.

2. Clean the air filters and reinstall them.

3. Remove batteries from the remote controller.

4. Turn OFF the breaker for the air conditioner.

Trouble Shooting

These Cases Are Not Troubles

The following situations are not malfunctions but have specific reasons. You may continue using the unit.

• When the mode was reselected.
This is to protect the air conditioner. Wait for about 3 minutes.
The outdoor unit emits water or steam.In COOL or DRY mode: Moisture in the air condenses on the cool outdoor unit piping and drips.
Mists come out of the indoor unit.This occurs when the room air is cooled into mist by the cold airflow during cooling operation.
The indoor unit gives out odour.This happens when room, furniture, or cigarette smells are absorbed into the unit and discharged with the airflow. If this occurs, have the indoor unit washed by a technician. Consult the service shop where you bought the air conditioner.
The outdoor fan rotates while the air conditioner is not in operation.After operation stops: The outdoor fan continues rotating for another 60 seconds for system protection.
When the air conditioner is not in operation: If the outdoor temperature is very high, the outdoor fan starts rotating for system protection.
The operation stopped suddenly. (OPERATION lamp is on)For system protection, the air conditioner may stop during a sudden large voltage fluctuation. It automatically resumes operation in about 3 minutes.

• Is there anything to block the air inlet or outlet of the indoor and outdoor units?
Clean the air filters or remove obstacles, then turn the breaker OFF. Turn it ON again and try operating with the remote controller. If the lamp still blinks, call the service shop. If it stops blinking after these steps, there is no malfunction.
An abnormal functioning happens during operation.The air conditioner may malfunction due to lightning or radio waves. Turn the breaker OFF, then ON again, and try operating with the remote controller.

Call the Service Shop Immediately

WARNING: When an abnormality (such as a burning smell) occurs, stop operation and turn the breaker OFF. Continued abnormal operation may result in troubles, electric shocks, or fire. Consult the service shop where you bought the air conditioner.

Do not attempt to repair or modify the air conditioner yourself. Incorrect work may result in electric shocks or fire. Consult the service shop where you bought the air conditioner.

If any of the following symptoms occur, call the service shop immediately:

Action: Turn the breaker OFF and call the service shop.

After a Power Failure

The air conditioner automatically resumes operation in about three minutes. Wait for a while.

Lightening

If lightning may strike the neighboring area, stop operation and turn the breaker OFF for system protection.

We Recommend Periodical Maintenance

In certain operating conditions, the inside of the air conditioner may get foul after several seasons, leading to poor performance. Periodical maintenance by a specialist is recommended, in addition to regular user cleaning. Contact the service shop for specialist maintenance. The user bears the maintenance cost.
