This Quick Start Guide provides the basics to start using your CMR8629.

Control Panel

The control panel features a 6.8-inch TFT touch screen display. Key controls include:

How to Replace the Battery

Uses CR2025 replacement battery only.

Slide the tray out on the back of the remote control and insert the battery with the (+) and minus (-) poles pointing in the proper direction. Remember to remove the battery shipping protector.

Safety Notice

Video/movie playback will not operate while the vehicle is moving. This is a safety feature to prevent driver distraction. In-dash video/movie functions will only operate when the vehicle is in Park and the parking brake is engaged. It is illegal in most jurisdictions for the driver to view video while the vehicle is in motion.

Main Menu

Press the top-left Source icon to enter the Main Source Menu. In Menu mode, press the desired icon to enter the respective mode:

  1. Radio Direct
  2. Media Player Last Source
  3. BT Handsfree Direct
  4. USB Direct
  5. microSD Card Direct
  6. BT Streaming Direct
  7. AUX In Direct
  8. Rear/Front Camera
  9. Main System Setup Menu ⚙️
  10. Press Clock to Standby Monitor (Press screen anywhere to return; Audio will still continue to play while in Standby mode).

Select the Tuner icon from the Main Menu screen.

EQ Operation

Press the EQ icon in each Source to select EQ settings. Source Tone Memory: Each Source will remember their EQ settings.

Subwoofer controls (Frequency, Fader, Balance) do not have Source Tone Memory.

Media Player Operation

USB/microSD Media operation works similarly to Bluetooth streaming.

Hands-free Operation

Bluetooth Microphone: The microphone is built-in. For best conversation quality, stay within 3 feet (1 meter) of the unit's microphone when talking.

Pairing and Connecting: Pair your mobile phone to the CMR8629. The device name is "JENSEN BT", and the passcode is "0000". For best reception, ensure the mobile phone battery is fully charged before pairing.

  • Try to perform pairing within a few minutes of turning on the mobile phone.
  • Once paired, "JENSEN BT" will be displayed on the mobile phone.
  • Keep the mobile phone within 10 feet (3 meters) of the unit.
  • Maintain a clear path between the mobile phone and the unit, avoiding metal objects.
  • Do not use "Power Saving Mode" on your mobile phone with the CMR8629.
  • Ensure your mobile phone's Bluetooth function is turned on before accepting or making a call.

Dialing a Number

Press keypad to dial a number.

Making a Call

Dial number, press to connect a call.

Call Controls:

  5. Contacts (must be manually synced)
  6. Keypad Backspace
  7. Recent Calls
  8. Device Manager

Transferring Audio

Press to transfer call audio between the headunit and mobile phone.

  1. Hang Up
  2. Call Transfer
  3. MIC Mute
  4. Return to Keypad

One-Year Limited Warranty

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. Namsung America Inc. warrants this product to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original purchase.

Namsung America Inc. agrees, at its option, to repair or replace defective products during the warranty period. Subsequent replacement products are warranted for the balance of the original warranty period.

Who is covered?

This warranty is extended to the original retail purchaser for products purchased from an authorized Jensen dealer and used in the U.S.A.

What is covered?

Covers all defects in material and workmanship. Not covered: software, installation/removal costs, damage from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, modification, improper installation, incorrect line voltage, unauthorized repair, or failure to follow instructions. Software license conditions and copyright notices are available at www.jensenmobile.com.

What to do?

  1. Check the troubleshooting guide in your owner's manual before calling for service.
  2. If service is required, pack the product carefully (preferably in original packaging) and ship it by prepaid transportation with a copy of the original receipt to an authorized service center.
  3. Include a written description of the problem, your name, a UPS shipping address (no P.O. Boxes), and a daytime phone number.
