Evolution DTA Remote Control User's Guide
It's simple to program your remote to control your TV.
Programming Your Remote to Control Your TV
Your Evolution DTA remote control is pre-programmed to control your HD Set-Top Box. To control your TV functions (TV Input, TV Power, Volume Up/Down, and Mute), follow these steps:
- Install batteries.
- Find the manufacturer's code for your TV (refer to the code list).
- Turn on your TV and HD Set-Top Box.
- On the remote, press and hold the Setup button until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Enter the first manufacturer's code for your TV. The Indicator LED will flash green twice.
- Press the TV Power button. If the TV turns off, the code is accepted. Turn the TV back on and verify that the Volume (+/-) and Mute buttons also work.
- If the codes do not work, repeat steps 4-6 with the next manufacturer's code. If no code works, see the "CAN'T FIND YOUR CODE?" section.
CAN'T FIND YOUR CODE?
If you cannot program your remote using the provided codes, use the code search function:
- Turn on your TV.
- On the remote, press and hold the Setup button until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Enter A.
- Press the CHA button repeatedly until the TV turns off.
- After the TV turns off, press Setup.
- Two green blinks of the Indicator LED confirm successful TV IR code storage.
Additional Feature: To place your DTA out of sight (e.g., in an entertainment center or behind your TV), program the remote for your TV first, then follow the "Installing your DTA out of sight" instructions.
Installing Your HD Set-Top Box Out of Sight
Your remote control can be paired directly with your HD Set-Top Box, allowing for placement out of the line of sight. Once paired, the remote will only control that specific HD Set-Top Box. To use the remote with another HD Set-Top Box, you must first "un-pair" the devices.
Pairing Instructions:
- Program your remote to control your TV (as described above). If already done, proceed to step 2.
- Follow the HD Set-Top Box instructions to enter the remote pairing screen. Ensure line of sight to the HD Set-Top Box during pairing.
- Press and hold the Setup button until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Press the Menu button on the remote. Your TV should display on-screen instructions. If not, press Menu up to two more times.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the displayed 3-digit code.
- Upon correct code entry, your remote will be paired with the HD Set-Top Box.
Remove Remote Control Pairing
To un-pair your remote control from a specific HD Set-Top Box:
- Press and hold the Setup button until the Indicator LED changes from red to green.
- Enter 9-8-7 on the remote control.
- The Indicator LED will blink green twice, indicating the remote is now un-paired.
Remember to reprogram the remote if you use it with a new TV or HD Set-Top Box.
