Product Overview
This document provides installation and setting instructions for Schneider Electric MicroLogic 2.2, 5.2, and 6.2 trip units, designed for the ComPact NSX100-250 range of circuit breakers.
MicroLogic 2.2 Trip Unit:
The MicroLogic 2.2 trip unit is a thermal-magnetic trip unit for ComPact NSX circuit breakers. It offers adjustable long-time (Ir) and short-time (Isd) protection settings.
MicroLogic 5.2/6.2 Trip Units:
The MicroLogic 5.2 and 6.2 trip units are electronic trip units providing advanced protection functions, including adjustable long-time (Ir), short-time (Isd), instantaneous (Ii), and earth-fault (Ig) settings, depending on the model.
Model References: GHD16045AA-11, LV429451, LV429521 (25-100 A), LV430563 (150-250 A).
Installation Guide
Follow these steps for installing the MicroLogic trip units:
- Mounting the Trip Unit: Align the MicroLogic trip unit with the base unit. Push the trip unit downwards until it clicks into place. Ensure it is securely attached.
- Connecting Terminals: Connect the power and control circuits to the appropriate terminals on the trip unit. Refer to specific wiring diagrams for your configuration (e.g., 3P, 4P, 3P+N).
- Wiring Details: For specific connections, such as ENCT (Earth Neutral Trip), ensure the correct wire gauge (S: 0.4-1.5 mm², AWG 22-16) is used. Terminal connections like T2 and T1 are indicated for specific functions.
- Operation Check: After installation, the unit can be switched ON or OFF. The 'Tripped' state is indicated when the circuit breaker has operated due to a fault. A 'Push to trip' button is available for manual testing.
Example Installation Steps (MicroLogic 2.2):
- Step 1: Attach the MicroLogic 2.2 unit to the ComPact NSX frame.
- Step 2: Connect the main power terminals.
- Step 3: Connect the control and auxiliary circuits.
- Step 4: Secure the unit with screws, torquing to 1.2 N.m (10.5 lb-in) for some connections and 5.5 N.m (48 lb-in) for others.
Example Installation Steps (MicroLogic 5.2/6.2):
- Step 1: Mount the MicroLogic 5.2/6.2 unit onto the circuit breaker base.
- Step 2: Connect the main power conductors.
- Step 3: Connect the control wiring, ensuring correct polarity and connection points (e.g., T2, T1).
- Step 4: Secure the unit using screws with specified torque values (e.g., 0.9 N.m (8 lb-in), 1.2 N.m (10.5 lb-in), 5.5 N.m (48 lb-in)).
- Step 5: Connect the ENCT if applicable, using appropriate wire sizes.
- Step 6: Perform a functional check.
Parameter Setting Guide
The MicroLogic trip units allow for adjustment of various protection parameters. The following describes common settings:
MicroLogic 2.2 Settings (Ir, Isd)
The MicroLogic 2.2 unit allows adjustment of Long-Time Overcurrent (Ir) and Short-Time Overcurrent (Isd) protection.
Ir Adjustment:
The Ir setting is a percentage of the nominal current (In). For example, if In = 100 A, and Ir is set to 0.95, then Ir = 95 A.
Isd Adjustment:
The Isd setting is a multiple of Ir. For example, Isd = Ir x 4.
Example Calculation: If In = 100 A, Ir = 63 A (0.63 x In), then Isd = 63 A x 4 = 252 A.
3P-4P Configuration: The unit can be configured for 3-pole or 4-pole operation.
MicroLogic 5.2/6.2 Settings (Ir, Isd, tsd, li, Ig, tg)
These units offer more advanced settings:
- Ir (Long-Time Overcurrent): Adjustable setting for overload protection.
- Isd (Short-Time Overcurrent): Adjustable setting for short-circuit protection with a time delay.
- tsd (Short-Time Delay): Adjustable time delay for Isd.
- li (Instantaneous Overcurrent): Adjustable setting for immediate short-circuit protection.
- Ig (Earth-Fault Overcurrent): Adjustable setting for earth-fault protection (available on specific models).
- tg (Earth-Fault Delay): Adjustable time delay for Ig.
Setting Procedure Example (MicroLogic 5.2E/6.2E):
The settings are adjusted using the buttons on the front panel (Mode, OK, Up/Down arrows). The display shows the current setting. Navigate through parameters (Ir, tr, Isd, tsd, li, Ig, tg) and adjust values using the arrow buttons. Press OK to confirm each setting.
Example: Setting Ir to 63 A:
- Press 'Mode' to cycle through parameters until 'Ir' is displayed.
- Press 'OK'.
- Use the arrow buttons to set the value to 63.
- Press 'OK' to confirm.
Example: Setting Isd to 0.5 x In:
- Press 'Mode' to cycle through parameters until 'Isd' is displayed.
- Press 'OK'.
- Use the arrow buttons to set the value to 0.5.
- Press 'OK' to confirm.
Example: Setting li to 2.0 x In:
- Press 'Mode' to cycle through parameters until 'li' is displayed.
- Press 'OK'.
- Use the arrow buttons to set the value to 2.0.
- Press 'OK' to confirm.
