  1. Read all instructions before installing the trim kit or using the heater.
  2. Do not install heaters near sprinkler heads.
  3. It is the installer's responsibility to make sure the heater and recess frame are mounted securely.
  4. Before IR heaters can be installed, the ceiling boxes must be made and mounting brackets must be attached. See Figures 1 and 2.
  5. For wiring and element bulb information, please refer to the main infrared heater instruction manual.
  6. Prepare ceiling cut out and ceiling box. Ceiling box internal dimensions must be as shown in table. Conduit can be routed out the top, or side through the C-bracket holes (Ø1.12). See Figure 2 for side hole locations.

Installation Steps

  1. Install conduit before heater is mounted to the ceiling. Otherwise, the installer will not be able to attach the conduit to the heater once it is in the ceiling. If using conduit holes in the C-bracket, drill holes in wood box in line with C-bracket holes. Use C-brackets to mark holes. C-brackets may need to be removed for drilling. Reinstall brackets after and install conduit.
  2. Prepare heater for installation by removing the screws used for the pre-installed mounting bracket. Once removed use these same screws to attach provided “L” bracket as pictured in Figure 3.
  3. Install heater: (2-person task), during lifting, rest the L-bracket nearest the conduit side in the respective C-bracket first. Then rest the other L-bracket in its respective C-bracket. Secure with provided screws and lock washers. See Figures 4a, & 4b.
  4. On a flat level surface, begin assembly of trim ring by fastening the 4 pieces together with the provided hardware as pictured below. See Figure 5. For best results, start with the hole-to-hole alignment first; then the hole-to-slot. A large table and a second person are recommended.
  5. Lastly install trim ring flush with the ceiling using supplied hardware, after which, the installation is complete. Be sure to center the trim ring about the heater for best appearance. See Figure 6. # 8 Round Head Screw x 1-in, may require pre-drill 5/64" pilot hole.
