Safety Instructions

WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK - DO NOT OPEN

The lightning flash symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the documents accompanying the appliance.

CAUTION: Terminals marked with the symbol «⚡» may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. External wiring to the terminals must be installed by a trained person or use ready-made connection leads or cords.

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or humidity.

CAUTION: A Class I construction apparatus must be connected to a mains socket with an earth connection.

General Safety Instructions:

  1. Read these instructions.
  2. Keep these instructions.
  3. Heed all warnings.
  4. Follow all instructions.
  5. Do not use this apparatus near water.
  6. Clean only with a dry cloth.
  7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades, one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  10. Avoid stepping on the power cord or pinching it, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  11. Use only attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  12. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
  13. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  14. Power Disconnection: The POWER switch disconnects the functions and indicator lights of the unit, but total electrical disconnection is achieved by unplugging the power cord from the mains socket. This is why you must always have easy access to it.
  15. The apparatus is connected to a grounded mains socket via a power supply cord.
  16. Marking information is located on the underside of the unit.
  17. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.

NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference, in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at their own expense.

WARNING: This product must not be disposed of with unsorted household waste. Return it to the nearest electrical and electronic waste treatment center.

NEEC AUDIO BARCELONA, S.L. declines all responsibility for damages that may be caused to persons, animals or objects due to non-compliance with the above warnings.

Introduction

The eCMP8 is a high-efficiency, compact musical projector. It features an 8" (20.3 cm) low-frequency transducer and a 1.4" (35 mm) coaxial high-frequency transducer, delivering 150 W power at 8 Ω. It also includes a 70/100 V line transformer with power settings of 37.5 / 75 / 150 W (these powers are halved in the case of a 70 V line).

It is designed for indoor and outdoor use (it is resistant to water and sunlight) where high power and precise coverage are required (135°×135° dispersion).

The eCMP12 is a high-efficiency, compact musical projector. It features a 12" (30.5 cm) low-frequency transducer and a 1.7" (43 mm) coaxial high-frequency transducer, delivering 300 W power at 8 Ω. It also includes a 70/100 V line transformer with power settings of 50 / 100 / 200 W (these powers are halved in the case of a 70 V line).

It is designed for indoor and outdoor use (it is resistant to water and sunlight) where high power and precise coverage are required (107°×107° dispersion).

Cable Connection

The eCMP8 and eCMP12 can operate at high or low impedance. They feature a power selector on the rear: 37.5 / 75 / 150 W / OFF / 8 Ω for the eCMP8, and 50 / 100 / 200 W / OFF / 8 Ω for the eCMP12.

Note: When used in 70 V installations, the power outputs will be halved compared to the values indicated on the selector for the 100 V position. In 50 V installations, they will be reduced to a quarter.

eCMP12:

Low Impedance Connection: This allows the loudspeakers to be operated under these conditions, with a maximum power of 150 W for the eCMP8 and 300 W for the eCMP12. In this configuration, you must consider the amplifier’s limitations if you connect multiple loudspeakers to its output, especially if the total impedance drops below 4 Ω. It is also important that the connection cable between the amplifier outputs and the loudspeakers is of good quality and as short as possible, particularly when covering long distances and when the loudspeaker impedance is low.

Note on 70V/100V Systems: The 70 V / 100 V loudspeaker line distribution system originates from the technical requirements of mixing loudspeakers with different impedances and/or power ratings on the same line or amplifier channel, without needing to worry about the total impedance of the resulting assembly. Furthermore, this solution allows, with minimal power loss, the use of long cables with a significantly smaller cross-section than that usually used in low impedance installations.

WARNING! If you accidentally connect the system to a low impedance amplifier while the selector is set to one of the 70/100 V line positions, the loudspeaker will not be damaged, but its performance will be greatly degraded. If you accidentally connect the loudspeaker to a 70/100 V network while it is set to the 8 Ω position, it will be severely damaged.
