Features and Components
The Logitech Wireless Mouse M545 is designed for comfort and functionality. Key components are:
- Left and right mouse buttons: Standard click functionality.
- Scroll wheel: Enables smooth scrolling through content.
- Battery LED: Indicates power status. Flashes green ? when the mouse is powered on, and flashes red ? when the battery power is low.
- Middle button: Its function depends on the operating system and application. For instance, in Windows, clicking a link with the middle button typically opens it in a new tab.
- Tilt button:
- On Windows 7 and Windows 8 without software: Tilt left ⬅️ for backward navigation, tilt right ➡️ for forward navigation.

- Pico receiver storage: A dedicated compartment on the mouse for storing the Pico receiver when it is not in use.

Logitech® Unifying Receiver
Your Logitech mouse comes with a Logitech® Unifying receiver. This technology allows you to connect multiple compatible Logitech wireless devices (up to six) to a single USB port. Look for the orange Unifying logo ? on compatible devices.
To get started with Unifying:
- Ensure your Unifying receiver is plugged into a USB port ?.
- Download the Logitech® Unifying software from www.logitech.com/unifying if you haven't already.
- Start the Unifying software* and follow the on-screen instructions to pair the new wireless device with your existing Unifying receiver.
*Go to Start / All Programs / Logitech / Unifying / Logitech Unifying Software.
Setup Help: Mouse Not Working
If your mouse is not working, please check the following:
- Power: Is the mouse powered on? Check the On/Off slider switch ?.
- Pico Receiver Connection:
- Is the Pico receiver ? securely plugged into a computer USB port? Try a different USB port.
- If using a USB hub, try plugging the receiver ? directly into a USB port on your computer.
- Move the Pico receiver ? to a USB port closer to the mouse.
- Remove any metallic objects ? located between the mouse and the Pico receiver.
- Battery: Check the orientation of the battery inside the mouse. Replace the battery if necessary. The mouse uses one AA alkaline battery.
- Reconnection: Try reconnecting the mouse and Pico receiver using the Logitech Unifying software. Refer to the Unifying section in this guide.
- USB 3.0 Interference: If other USB 3.0 devices are in use, try plugging the Pico receiver ? into a different USB port, preferably at a distance from the USB 3.0 devices.
