MDS-10T Unfolding Procedure
1. Extend the Lower Shaft
Follow the numbered steps [1], [2], [3] to extend the lower shaft. This involves pulling sections apart and securing them, indicated by lock symbols [?].
2. Unfold the Detector
Follow steps [4], [5], [6] to unfold the main detector body and shaft from its collapsed state. Arrows [➡️] indicate movement.
3. Unfold the Sensor Head
Follow steps [7], [8] to unfold the sensor head. This typically involves rotating or extending it into position.
4. Position the Armrest
Follow steps [9], [10] to attach or position the armrest on the shaft. A hand [?] symbol may indicate where to place your hand.
5. Extend the Middle Shaft
Follow steps [11], [12], [13] to extend the middle shaft, adjusting the detector's length for comfortable use.
Attach Battery
Attach the battery pack following steps [a], [b], [c], [d]. This involves connecting the battery to the detector unit.
Quick Start & Operation
Factory Reset
To perform a factory reset, press and hold the power/settings button [?⚙️] for approximately 5 seconds [⏰ ≈ 5 s]. Indicator lights [?] may flash.
Quick Start
1. Turn On
Press the power button [?] to turn on the detector. Indicator lights will show the status. The display shows two modes: MD [MD] and MD [MD] with green checkmarks [✔️], indicating readiness.
2. MD Ground Balance
Perform ground balance by placing the sensor head 25-50 mm (1-2 inches) [⬇️ 25-50 mm (1-2")] above the ground. Move the detector side-to-side [↔️] for approximately 8 seconds [⏰ 8 s]. This calibrates the detector to the soil conditions.
3. MD Test Piece
Test the detector's response using a test piece. Place the sensor head over the test piece. A correct response is indicated by a green checkmark [✔️], while an incorrect response is shown by a red cross [❌]. The diagram shows the sensor head positioned correctly [⬆️] and incorrectly [⬇️] relative to the test piece.
4. GPR Skyshot
Activate the GPR Skyshot function. This involves holding the detector in a specific orientation, possibly upwards [⬆️], for 2-3 seconds [⏰ 2-3 s]. The icon [?] indicates a signal transmission.
5. GPR Test Target
Test the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) functionality using a GPR test target. Place the sensor head over the target. The diagram shows the sensor head positioned correctly [⬆️] over the target [?]. A green checkmark [✔️] indicates a successful test.
6. Begin Detecting
Once setup and testing are complete, begin detecting for targets. Arrows [➡️] indicate the direction of movement.
