How to Configure the TWAIN Driver
Configuring for USB Connection
To begin configuring the TWAIN driver, locate and open the TWAIN Driver Setting application. This can typically be found by searching for "TWAIN Driver Setting" in the Windows search bar. A red arrow points to the Windows Start button and then to the search bar, with the text 'TWAIN Driver Setting' shown in the search bar and the corresponding application highlighted in the search results.
The 'Kyocera TWAIN Driver' application window will appear, featuring a 'Scanner List' section which is initially empty. Available actions include 'Add...', 'Delete', 'Edit...', 'Set as default', 'About...', 'Help', and 'Close'. A red arrow points to the 'Add...' button.
To add a scanner via USB connection:
- In the 'Kyocera TWAIN Driver' configuration dialog, select the printer model (USB) from the 'Model' dropdown list, for example, 'ECOSYS M5526cdw (USB)'.
- Input a suitable value into the 'Name' field, such as 'ECOSYS M5526cdw (USB)'.
- Click the 'OK' button to confirm the settings. A red arrow points to the 'OK' button in the dialog.
After clicking 'OK', the configured scanner will appear in the 'Scanner List' within the 'Kyocera TWAIN Driver' window. The list will now contain an entry with 'ECOSYS M5526cdw...' in the 'Name' column and 'ECOSYS M5521' in the 'Model' column.
Configuring for Network Connection
For network connections, the configuration process is similar, but requires specifying the scanner's network address.
To add a scanner via Network connection:
- In the 'Kyocera TWAIN Driver' configuration dialog, select the printer model from the 'Model' dropdown list, for example, 'ECOSYS M5526cdw'.
- Enter the scanner's IP address or hostname in the 'Scanner Address' field. For example, '192.168.1.200'. A large red arrow points to this field.
- Input a suitable value into the 'Name' field, such as 'ECOSYS M5526cdw (Network)'.
- Click the 'OK' button to confirm the settings.
The scanner will then be added to the 'Scanner List' with its network configuration.
