Installation Guide
This guide provides instructions for installing the SALTO Wall Reader.
Models Covered: WRDx0A4 series, WRDx0A4..K series, WRDx0A4..F series, WRDOM, WRD0MK.
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Wall: Ensure the mounting surface is suitable for the electrical box.
- Mount the Reader: Secure the reader to the electrical box using the provided screws.
- Wiring: Connect the reader to the control unit using appropriate cabling. Refer to wiring diagrams for specific connections.
Maintenance:
To clean the sensor, dampen a lint-free cloth or cotton swab with alcohol. Gently wipe the sensor back and forth. Ensure no residual solution remains. Avoid abrasive materials.

Note: UL tested at 24 AWG at 100m.
Installation Examples:
Wiring diagrams and connection examples are provided for various configurations, including direct connection to CU42xx units and RJ45 connections.
LED and Buzzer Indicators:
The reader uses visual and audible signals for different events:
- Card/finger rejection: Red light, high-pitched buzzer.
- Standard opening: Green light, low-pitched buzzer.
- Standard locking: Red light, low-pitched buzzer.
- Waiting for card/finger: Blinking green light, continuous low-pitched buzzer.
- Successfully processed card/finger: Green light, 1-second low-pitched buzzer.
Compliance and Safety Statements:
The SALTO Wall Reader complies with various international standards including FCC, CE, UKCA, IMDA, and NCC. It is designed for use in non-condensation environments. Ensure proper installation according to national electrical codes. Maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm (8 inches) between the device and the human body.
UL Statements: Tested with Mifare, HID iCLASS, and Mobile APP via Bluetooth. Requires user verification (PIN or biometric). Not capable of command, control, or system manipulation. Wiring must comply with National Electrical Code (NEC) or Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
UL294 Performance Level: IV (Destructive attack), IV (Line Security), IV (Endurance).
Comply with ULC-S319 Class I.
FCC Compliance: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: no harmful interference and acceptance of received interference.
ISED Compliance: This device complies with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s).
IMDA Compliance: Complies with IMDA Standards DA108623.
NCC Warning Statement: Requirements for low-power radio-frequency devices.
Note: Models WRD0BF, WRD0JF, EC0BF, EC0JF are not applicable for IMDA compliance. Models WRD0M, WRD0MK, WRD0S, WRD0BF, WRD0JF, WRM0B, WRM0J, EC09, EC0H, ECOM, ECOBF, EC0JF are not applicable for NCC compliance.
Electrical Warnings: Device powered by a power supply classified ES1 and PS1 according to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 & AS/NZS 62368.1. Distance between this device and human body must be higher than 20 cm.
