Controller Layout
The 8BitDo Ultimate C Bluetooth Controller features a familiar layout designed for comfortable gaming.
Top and Front View:
- Home Button: Used for powering on/off and system access.
- Screenshot Button: Captures gameplay screenshots.
- Left Analog Stick: For movement and control.
- Left Analog Stick Button (L3): Pressable function for the left stick.
- D-Pad: Directional controls (Up, Down, Left, Right).
- Face Buttons: A, B, X, Y buttons for primary actions.
- R1/R2 Buttons: Shoulder buttons on the right side.
- L1/L2 Buttons: Shoulder buttons on the left side.
- Right Analog Stick: For camera control and secondary movement.
- Right Analog Stick Button (R3): Pressable function for the right stick.
- Status LED: Indicates connection and pairing status.
- Power LED: Indicates the power status of the controller.
- Pair Button: Used for Bluetooth pairing.
Note: The controller also includes player indicator lights.
Switch Connection
System requirement: Nintendo Switch OS version 3.0.0 or above.
Note: NFC scanning, IR camera, HD rumble, and notification LED features are not supported.
Bluetooth Connection
- Press the Home button to turn on the controller.
- Hold the Pair button for approximately 3 seconds until the Status LED blinks rapidly, entering pairing mode. This is only required for the initial connection.
- On your Nintendo Switch, navigate to System Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Change Grip/Order.
- Wait for the controller to connect. The Status LED will remain solid once the connection is successful.
Wired Connection
Ensure that "Pro Controller Wired Communication" is enabled in the system settings.
Connect the controller to the Nintendo Switch console via a USB cable. The system will recognize the controller, allowing you to play.
Battery
The controller is equipped with a 480 mAh built-in lithium battery pack, providing approximately 16 hours of playtime. Charging takes about 2 hours.
Battery Status Indicators:
- Low Battery: Red LED blinks.
- Charging: Red LED stays solid.
- Battery Full Charged: Red LED turns off.
The controller will automatically shut down if there is no connection within 1 minute after startup or no activity within 15 minutes after connection. The controller will not shut down when connected via a wired connection.
