Using Loose Leaf
Packing Loose Leaf
Follow these steps to pack loose leaf material:
- Remove the magnetic lid by lifting it up from either side.
- Use hand-torn or coarsely-ground material.
- Loosely fill the glass chamber, slightly past the rim, and tamp down gently.
- Ensure the interior surfaces are free of debris for a tight seal.
- Replace the lid, ensuring it is seated correctly.
Packing Example
YES: Properly packed loose leaf.
NO: Improperly packed loose leaf with debris.
Vaping Loose Leaf
To vape loose leaf:
- Touch and glow: Place fingers on both touch sensors to start heating.
- Important: Lightly touch the sensors, similar to tapping a smartphone. Avoid excessive force.
- The LED will blink green for three seconds and turn solid green when ready.
- On subsequent touches, the LED will turn solid green immediately.
- Keep fingers in place and inhale for 5-10 seconds.
- Release the touch sensors to stop heating.
- After a few draws, stir the contents of the heating chamber.
- For denser vapor, inhale more deeply for a few extra seconds. Refer to the Tips and Tricks section for further customization.
Please Note: The heating coil's glow may dim towards the end of a session.
Using Concentrates
Packing Concentrates
For optimal concentrate use:
- Download the Firefly app and use the “Concentrates” setting.
- Place a concentrate pad in the heating chamber and press it firmly into the bottom.
- Place a small amount of concentrate material on the center of the pad. A little goes a long way!
- Solid Concentrates: About the size of a grain of rice.
- Liquid Concentrates: 2-3 drops.
- Important: Do not overfill the pad.
- Replace the lid and ensure it is seated correctly.
Vaping Concentrates
To vape concentrates:
- Touch and Glow: Place fingers on the touch sensors to start heating.
- The LED will blink green for a few seconds and turn solid green when ready.
- Continue to hold the touch sensors while taking 5 to 10 cigar-style mouth puffs.
- After initial heating, return to normal inhalations.
Cleaning
Heating Chamber
- Clean only at room temperature or below.
- Use a toothpick to remove larger particles, then wipe clean with an alcohol wipe.
- Allow the chamber to dry completely before vaping.
- Important: Do not pour alcohol directly into the heating chamber.
Mouthpiece
- Hold the Firefly 2 in one hand and push the mouthpiece to one side with the other hand. Wiggle it left and right until removed.
- Remove any particulate with the enclosed cleaning pick.
- Replace the mouthpiece by aligning it and pushing until it clicks into place.
Vapor Path
- Use alcohol wipes to clean the surfaces of the vapor path on the chassis and the lid.
- Important: Be gentle when wiping the top lid to avoid damaging the gasket.
Concentrate Pad Removal
- Concentrate material can become sticky. Pre-heat the Firefly 2 for 10-15 seconds to loosen any material. Use the pick from the cleaning kit to pry up the edges of the pad and remove it.
- Cleaning the concentrate pads is not recommended.
Batteries
Battery Levels
To check the battery level, quickly tap the right touch sensor three times and observe the LED indicator:
- Five blue blinks: 100% charge
- Four blue blinks: 75% charge
- Three blue blinks: 50% charge
- Two blue blinks: 25% charge
- One blue blink: 10% charge
- Blinks Red: Battery is low and needs charging.
Removing and Replacing
To remove and replace the battery:
- Remove the battery door by pushing forward at the indicated arrow.
- Insert the battery into the compartment and slide the cover back into place.
- Replace the battery door: place the door on the back side of the Firefly 2, aligning the arrow side closest to the mouthpiece. Position it just above the edge of the Firefly 2 and press down from the top to click it into place.

Tips and Tricks
To Get More Vapor
- Take deeper, longer inhalations.
- Experiment with higher heat settings in the app (but do not use the concentrates setting for loose-leaf to avoid combustion).
- Ensure the vapor path is clear and the lid is reseated snugly.
- Remove the mouthpiece to clear any particulate matter, then replace it firmly.
Battery Life
- Keep the Firefly 2 on its charging dock to ensure a charged battery.
- Activate the touch sensors only while vaping. Remind new users to do the same for their first time.
Concentrates
- Do not overfill the pad. If concentrate has dripped onto the heating element, use the touch sensors to heat the device and blow air OUT to remove the material.
