TOKYO, Aug. 19, 2025 – Carrier Japan hosted a group of 19 local elementary school students and their family members at its Tsuyama factory in Okayama Prefecture, Japan on July 25. The visit was part of the Tsuyama Area Open Factory 2025 initiative, organized by the Tsuyama Industrial Support Center, a public organization affiliated with Tsuyama City. Carrier Japan is a part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.
The annual event offers students a rare behind-the-scenes look at Carrier Japan's operations, including a guided factory tour for its advanced HVAC products and solutions. Through this initiative, Carrier Japan aims to spark curiosity and infuse future career aspirations among local youth by highlighting the innovation, craftsmanship, and social value embedded in the culture at its Tsuyama manufacturing site.
Carrier Japan, participating in this program for the fifth time, fully supports the center's mission to help children experience the real-world workplace, encouraging them to dream boldly and envision their own futures. By opening the doors of its manufacturing site, the company aims to deepen its connection with the Tsuyama community and contribute to the development of the next generation.
During the visit, students attended a brief lecture on heat pump technology, followed by a guided factory tour. The tour included a close-up look at the production lines for the USX series, Japan's leading modular chillers, as well as the facility's advanced testing areas for HVAC products and solutions. After the tour, many children shared their excitement, noting how much they learned about air conditioning technology. Some commented on how cold and refreshing the air conditioning testing room is – especially on a hot summer day. Their enthusiasm was evident as the students listened intently throughout the visit, demonstrating a genuine interest in the world of manufacturing excellence.
Notably, the event took place shortly after July 17, which marked the 123rd anniversary of the invention of modern air conditioning by Willis Carrier, the founder of Carrier. The participants had a timely opportunity to connect with the legacy of this groundbreaking invention and witness firsthand the evolution and impact of the invention, as several iconic landmark wins, including one in Tsuyama City, were showcased by Carrier Japan.
