Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Keep the mains cord, the base and the kettle away from hot surfaces.
- Do not place the appliance on an enclosed surface (e.g. a serving tray), as this could cause water to accumulate under the appliance, resulting in a hazardous situation.
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool down before you clean it. Do not immerse the kettle or base in water or any other liquid. Only clean the appliance with a moist cloth and a mild cleaning agent.
- The kettle shall not be used for cooking noodles because the oil can make the water level indicator crack.

- Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
- Only use the kettle in combination with its original base.
- The kettle is only intended for heating up and boiling water.
- Never fill the kettle beyond the maximum level indication (MAX). If the kettle has been overfilled, boiling water may be ejected from the spout and cause scalding.
- Be careful: the outside of the kettle and the water in it become hot during and some time after use. Only lift the kettle by its handle. Also beware of the hot steam [steam-symbol] that comes out of the kettle.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as farm houses, bed and breakfast type environments, staff kitchen areas in shops, in offices and in other working environments and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments.
Operating Instructions
The following steps illustrate how to use your Philips kettle:
-
Step 1: Setup
Unpack the kettle and its accessories. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged.
-
Step 2: Filling the Kettle
Open the lid [lid-open]. Fill the kettle with fresh water to the desired level, ensuring it is between the minimum and maximum indicators. Do not overfill beyond the MAX line. Close the lid securely.
-
Step 3: Boiling Water
Place the kettle firmly on its power base. Plug the power cord into an earthed wall socket. Press the power button [power-symbol]. Use the control panel to select your desired temperature from the following options: 40°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C, or 100°C (boiling). The selected temperature or boiling status will be indicated on the display.
-
Step 4: Using the Keep Warm Function
After heating water to a selected temperature (below boiling), you can activate the keep-warm function. The kettle will maintain the water at a set percentage of its maximum temperature, indicated by percentages such as 40%, 60%, 70%, 80%, or 90%. The keep-warm function typically lasts for 30 minutes, after which the kettle will automatically switch off.
-
Step 5: Auto Shut-off
The kettle is designed to switch off automatically after boiling water, after the keep-warm period ends, or if boil-dry protection is activated.
Special Features
Boil-Dry Protection
This kettle is equipped with boil-dry protection. If you accidentally switch on the kettle with no or insufficient water, it will automatically switch off. To reset, let the kettle cool down for 10 minutes, then lift it off its base and place it back on. The kettle is then ready for use again.
