Install the Range Boost Battery
Preparation

Tools Required: · S Hook · T25 Torx wrench (carbon frame) · IP40 Torx Plus wrench · 4mm hex wrench · 3mm hex wrench (aluminum frame) · Phillips screwdriver · Torque wrench with appropriate sockets · Bosch connector and diagnostic tool
For bikes with no cable access hole in the frame · T20 Torx wrench · Drill with 0.25in (7mm) twist drill bit · Shop scissors or utility knife
Remove the Rechargeable Integrated Battery (RIB).

Disconnect the Motor 1.A. Remove the four motor guard bolts and remove the
motor guard.
1.B. If present, remove the non-driveside plastic motor
cover.
2. Use the IP40 Torx Plus wrench to LOOSEN the two aft
motor bolts. Do not remove the bolts.
3. Use the IP40 Torx Plus wrench to remove the front four
motor bolts (2 per side). IMPORTANT: Once the front motor bolts are removed, support the motor to prevent it from swinging freely.

4. Support the motor and install the S hook. Install the
hook as shown (from the inside of the motor housing) to protect the bike's finish.

1. Temporarily remove the S hook and support the motor
with one hand.
2. Use a small Phillips head screwdriver to remove the
screw in the plastic cover (see Figure A).
3. Remove the cover from the top of the motor housing
(see Figure B).

5. Unplug the battery cable from the motor.

4. Re-install the S hook to support the motor.

5. With the battery cable disconnected from the motor,
pull the connector out from behind the motor.

6. Connect the B end of the Y cable to the battery
connector.
7. Tuck the excess Y cable (B end) behind the rear battery
mount in the base of the down tube.
8. Route the rest of the Y cable (A end) over the top of and
behind the motor.
Install the Range Boost Battery Mount 1. Remove the three water bottle cage bolts (4mm) and
the round rubber plugs from the down tube.

2. For each of the three holes in the Range Boost Battery
Mount, use (in order) the three bolts, spacers, and o-rings to create the Range Boost Battery Mount assembly.

NOTES: There are three spacers included in the Range Boost bag of contents for carbon frames. Carbon frames will need spacers between the Range Boost Battery Mount and the frame to prevent surface damage to the bike frame.
The o-rings act as a retention system to keep the spacers and bolts in place on the mount.
3. Place the Range Boost Battery Mount assembly on the
down tube with the holes lined up.
4. Screw this plunger bolt (circled) out to decrease the
lock travel with RIB installed. Screw this plunger bolt in if the lock impedes installation of the RIB battery.

NOTE: Make sure the Range Boost Battery plunger is in the middle of the down tube hole.
5. Tighten the three bolts to 5Nm. Do not overtighten.

1.B. On frames without a Range Boost cable hole in the
frame, lead the Range Boost Battery cable to the nondrive side.
2. From the inside of the motor housing, connect the
Range Boost Battery cable to the A end of the Y cable.
3. Arrange the A end of the Y cable and the Range Boost
Battery cable in the forward end of the motor housing (behind the internal battery rear mount).

Use only the bolts supplied in the kit. If a different length is needed then only use Grade 8 or better bolts.
Reconnect the Motor 1.A. On frames with a Range Boost cable hole in the frame,
insert the Range Boost Battery cable into the hole on the top of the motor housing.

4. Remove the S hook. 5. Rotate the motor up into the motor housing. Pro Builder Tips:
a.As you rotate the motor up, wiggle the Range Boost Battery cable on top and the motor power plug in the rear for ease of motor re-installation.
b.Make sure no cables are pinched when moving the motor into place.

6. Install the four forward motor mount bolts.
7. Use the IP40 Torx Plus wrench and torque all forward
and aft motor mount bolts to the manufacturer's spec.

8.A. For frames with a Range Boost cable hole in the frame:
a. Put the grommet around the battery cable. b. Put as much cable inside the motor housing as
possible. c.Install the grommet into the hole on top of the
motor housing.
d.Reconnect the motor power plug back on to the motor.

8.B. For frames with no cable hole in the frame:
a. Use the drill and knife (or scissors) to cut a routing hole in the non-driveside motor cover as shown.
b.Put as much cable inside the motor housing as possible.
c.Position the Range Boost cable through the new routing hole and reattach the non-driveside motor cover.

9. Reinstall the motor guard. Use the 3mm hex wrench
(aluminum frame) or the T25 Torx wrench to torque the bolts to 5Nm.

Reinstall RIB and Test the RBB Assembly Release Mechanism
1. Reinstall the RIB.

IMPORTANT: The Range Boost Battery assembly bolt (plunger) inside the RIB cavity should not contact the RIB or in any way impede the RIB installation.
2. You should not be able to depress the Range Boost
Battery lock button. The button should move down only 1-5mm when depressed.

3. Install the Range Boost Battery in the tray. Again
depress the lock button. The Range Boost Battery assembly should not be released.
4. On the controller, when you power up you should see
you have two batteries and it should also display the charge for each battery.
5. Use the Bosch connector and diagnostic tool to make
sure all the firmware is up to date.

Motor abklemmen 1. A. Die vier Schrauben des Motorschutzes herausschrauben
und den Motorschutz abnehmen.

DEUTSCH

1.B. Wenn vorhanden, den Kunststoffmotorabdeckung auf der
Nichtantriebsseite entfernen.
2. Mit dem IP40 Torx Plus-Schlüssel die hinteren zwei
Motorschrauben LÖSEN. Die Schrauben nicht komplett herausdrehen.
3. Mit dem IP40 Torx Plus-Schlüssel die vorderen vier
Motorschrauben (2 pro Seite) herausdrehen. WICHTIG: Sobald die vorderen Motorschrauben entfernt wurden, muss der Motor abstützt werden, um ein nach unten schwingen zu verhindern.

4. Den Motor abstützen und den S-Haken einsetzen.
Den Haken wie abbildet verwenden (von innen am Motorgehäuse), um den Lack des Bikes zu schützen.
5. Das Akkukabel am Motor ausstecken.

6. Den Stecker B des Y-Kabels mit dem Steckverbinder des
Akkukabels verbinden.

1. Kurzzeitig den S-Haken entfernen und den Motor mit einer
Hand abstützen.
2. Mit einem kleinen Kreuzschlitz-Schraubendreher
die Schraube der Kunststoffabdeckung entfernen (siehe Abb. A).
3. Die Abdeckung am Motorgehäuse von oben entfernen
(siehe Abb. B).

7. Das restliche Kabel von Stecker B hinter der hinteren
Akkuhalterung unten am Unterrohr verstauen.
8. Das Kabel von Stecker A hinter dem Motor nach oben
führen.
Halterung für Range Boost-Akku montieren 1. Die drei Flaschenhalterschrauben (4 mm) und die runden
Gummistopfen aus dem Unterrohr entfernen.

4. Den S-Haken zum Abstützen des Motors wieder einsetzen.

5. Bei abgeklemmtem Akkukabel den Steckverbinder hinter
dem Motor herausziehen.

2. Bei jedem der drei Löcher für die Halterung des Range
Boost-Akkus erst die Schrauben, dann die Distanzscheiben dann die O-Ringe (in dieser Reihenfolge) einsetzen.

SCHRAUBE

DISTANZSCHEIBE 0-RING

HINWEISE: Im Lieferumfang des Range Boost-Akkus sind drei Distanzscheiben für Carbon-Rahmen enthalten. Bei Carbon-Rahmen sind Distanzscheiben zwischen der Halterung des Range Boost-Akkus und dem Rahmen erforderlich, um Oberflächenschäden am Bike-Rahmen zu vermeiden.
Die O-Ringe dienen als Einbauhilfe, um die Distanzscheiben und Schrauben an der Halterung zu fixieren.
3. Die Halterung des Range Boost-Akkus an den Löchern im
Unterrohr ausrichten und einsetzen.
4. Diese Kolbenschraube (Kreis) herausdrehen, um den
Entriegelungsmechanismus bei eingesetztem RIB-Akku zu reduzieren. Diese Kolbenschraube hineindrehen, wenn der Entriegelungsmechanismus das Einsetzen des RIB-Akkus behindert.

HINWEIS: Achte darauf, dass die Kolbenschraube des Range Boost-Akkus im Loch des Unterrohrs mittig ausgerichtet ist.
5. Die drei Schrauben mit einem Anzugsdrehmoment von 5 Nm
festziehen. Die Schrauben nicht zu stark anziehen.
Nur die im Lieferumfang enthaltenen Schrauben verwenden. Wenn eine andere Schraubenlänge erforderlich ist, dürfen nur Schrauben der Festigkeitsklasse Grade 8 oder höher verwendet werden.
Motor wieder anschließen 1.A. An Rahmen mit einer Öffnung für das Range Boost-Kabel
das Kabel des Range Boost-Akkus oben am Motorgehäuse in die Öffnung schieben.

DEUTSCH

1.B. An Rahmen ohne Öffnung für das Range Boost-Kabel
das Kabel des Range Boost-Akkus zur Nichtantriebsseite führen.
2. Innen im Motorgehäuse das Kabel für den Range Boost-
Akku mit dem Stecker A des Y-Kabels verbinden.

6. Die vier vorderen Motorschrauben einschrauben.
7. Den IP40 Torx Plus-Schlüssel verwenden und alle vorderen
und hinteren Motorschrauben mit dem vom Hersteller vorgeschriebenen Anzugsdrehmoment festziehen.

3. Das restliche Kabel von Stecker A des Y-Kabels sowie
das Kabel für den Range Boost-Akku im vorderen Bereich des Motorgehäuses verstauen (hinter der innenliegenden Akkuhalterung).

8.A. Für Rahmen mit Öffnung für das Range Boost-Kabel:
a.Den Kabelstopfen um das Akkukabel legen. b.So viel Kabel wie möglich im Motorgehäuse
unterbringen. c.Den Kabelstopfen oben am Motorgehäuse in die
Rahmenöffnung einsetzen.

4. Den S-Haken entfernen. 5. Den Motor nach oben in das Motorgehäuse bewegen.
Profi-Tipp: a.Wenn der Motor nach oben bewegt wird, am Kabel für den Range Boost-Akku sowie hinten am Motoranschlussstecker wackeln, um den Wiedereinbau des Motors zu vereinfachen. b.Beim Positionieren des Motors darauf achten, dass keine Kabel eingeklemmt werden.

d. Das Akkukabel wieder mit dem Motor verbinden. 23

9. Den Motorschutz wieder montieren. Mit dem 3 mm
Inbusschlüssel (Aluminium-Rahmen) oder dem T25 TorxSchlüssel die Schrauben mit einem Anzugsdrehmoment von 5 Nm festziehen.
8.B. Für Rahmen ohne Kabelöffnung:
a. Mithilfe des Bohrers und des Messers (oder der Schere) auf der Nichtantriebsseite eine Kabelöffnung in die Motorabdeckung schneiden.

b. So viel Kabel wie möglich im Motorgehäuse unterbringen.
c.Das Range Boost-Kabel durch die neue Kabelöffnung führen und die Motorabdeckung auf der Nichtantriebsseite anbringen.

RIB wieder einsetzen und RBBEntriegelungsmechanismus prüfen
1. Den RIB-Akku wieder einsetzen.

3. Den Range Boost-Akku in die Halterung einsetzen. Erneut
die Entriegelungstaste drücken. Die Range BoostAkkueinheit sollte nicht freigegeben werden.

WICHTIG: Die Montageschraube (Kolbenschraube) der Halterung für den Range Boost-Akku im RIB-Akkufach darf den RIB-Akku nicht berühren oder das Einsetzen des RIB-Akkus anderweitig behindern.
2. Die Entriegelungstaste des Range Boost-Akkus sollte
nicht gedrückt werden können. Die Taste sollte sich beim Betätigen nur 1 5 mm nach unten bewegen.

4. Beim Einschalten sollten auf dem Controller nun zwei
Akkus angezeigt werden und außerdem sollte der Ladezustand jedes Akkus zu sehen sein.

5. Mithilfe des Bosch Steckverbinders und Diagnosetools
kann die Firmware auf den aktuellen Stand gebracht werden.

Para bicicletas sin orificios de acceso para cable en el cuadro · Llave Torx T20 · Taladro con broca helicoidal de 0,25 pulg. (7 mm) · Tijeras para taller o cúter
Extrae la batería RIB (Rechargeable Integrated Battery).

Desconexión del motor 1.A. Quita los cuatro tornillos del protector del motor y retira el
protector.
1.B. Si está instalada, retira la tapa de plástico del motor del
lado opuesto a la transmisión.
2. AFLOJA los dos tornillos traseros del motor con la llave
Torx Plus IP40. No retires los tornillos.
3. Utiliza la llave Torx Plus IP40 para extraer los cuatro
tornillos delanteros del motor (2 a cada lado). IMPORTANTE: Una vez que hayas quitado los tornillos delanteros del motor, sujétalo para que no se balancee.

4. Sujeta el motor y coloca el gancho con forma de S. Coloca
el gancho tal y como se muestra en la imagen (por la parte interna del alojamiento del motor) para proteger el acabado de la bicicleta.

1. Quita momentáneamente el gancho con forma de S y
sujeta el motor con una mano.
2. Utiliza un destornillador Phillips pequeño para quitar el
tornillo de la tapa de plástico (ver Figura A).
3. Quita la tapa de la parte superior del alojamiento del motor
(ver Figura B).

5. Desenchufa el cable que conecta la batería con el motor.

4. Vuelve a colocar el gancho con forma de S para sujetar el
motor.

5. Con el cable de la batería desconectado del motor, tira del
conector para sacarlo por detrás del motor.

ESPAÑOL

6. Conecta el extremo B del cable con forma de Y al conector
de la batería.
7. Guarda el exceso del cable con forma de Y (extremo B) por
detrás del soporte trasero de la batería en la base del tubo diagonal.
8. Guía el resto del cable con forma de Y (extremo A) por
encima y por detrás del motor.
Instalación del soporte para batería Range Boost 1. Quita los tres tornillos (4 mm) del portabidón y los tapones
redondos de goma del tubo diagonal.

2. Para instalar el soporte de la batería Range Boost, coloca
(en este orden) el kit de tornillo, espaciador y junta tórica en cada uno de los tres orificios del soporte.

TORNILLO

ESPACIADOR JUNTA TÓRICA

NOTAS: En la bolsa que incluye la tornillería hay tres espaciadores para los cuadros de carbono. Los cuadros de carbono requieren el uso de espaciadores entre el soporte de la batería Range Boost y el cuadro para evitar daños en la superficie del cuadro.
Las juntas tóricas actúan como sistema de retención para que los espaciadores y los tornillos no se muevan de su sitio al colocarlos en el soporte.
3. Coloca el soporte de la batería Range Boost, incluyendo
los tornillos, los espaciadores y las juntas tóricas, sobre el tubo diagonal alineándolo con los orificios.
4. Afloja el tornillo de bloqueo (rodeado con un círculo)
para reducir el recorrido del bloqueo con la batería RIB instalada. Aprieta este tornillo si el bloqueo impide la instalación de la batería RIB.

ESPAÑOL

NOTA: Asegúrate de que el tope del tornillo de la batería Range Boost está en el centro del orificio del tubo diagonal.
5. Aprieta los tres tornillos a 5 Nm. No aprietes en exceso.
Utiliza únicamente los tornillos suministrados en el kit. Si fuera necesario usar tornillos de diferente longitud, utiliza solo tornillos de grado 8 o mejores.
Conexión del motor 1.A. En los cuadros con un orificio para el cable del Range
Boost, introduce el cable de la batería Range Boost en el orificio de la parte superior del alojamiento del motor.

1.B. En los cuadros sin orificio para el cable del Range Boost,
guía el cable de la batería Range Boost hacia el lado opuesto a la transmisión.
2. Desde el interior del alojamiento del motor, conecta el
cable de la batería Range Boost al extremo A del cable con forma de Y.
3. Coloca el extremo A del cable con forma de Y y el cable
de la batería Range Boost en el extremo delantero del alojamiento del motor (por detrás del soporte interno trasero de la batería).
4. Retira el gancho con forma de S. 5. Rota el motor hacia arriba hasta acoplarlo en el
alojamiento del motor. Consejos del experto:
a.Al rotar el motor hacia arriba, mueve el cable de la batería Range Boost de la parte superior y el conector de alimentación del motor de la parte trasera para facilitar la instalación del motor.
b.Cuando estés colocando el motor, asegúrate de no pillar ningún cable.

6. Instala los cuatro tornillos de sujeción de la parte
delantera del motor.
7. Con la llave Torx Plus IP40 aprieta los tornillos delanteros
y traseros del motor de acuerdo con las especificaciones del fabricante.

8.A. Para cuadros con orificio para el cable del Range Boost:
a.Pon el pasacables alrededor del cable de la batería. b.Coloca dentro del alojamiento del motor la máxima
cantidad de cable posible. c.Instala el pasacables en el orificio de la parte superior
del alojamiento del motor.
d.Vuelve a enchufar el conector de alimentación del motor en el motor.

8.B. Para cuadros sin orificio para el cable en el cuadro:
a. Utiliza el taladro y el cúter (o tijeras) para hacer un orificio para el cable en la tapa del motor del lado opuesto a la transmisión, tal y como se indica.
b.Introduce la mayor cantidad posible de cable por dentro del alojamiento del motor.
c.Guía el cable del Range Boost a través del nuevo orificio de guiado y vuelve a colocar la tapa del motor del lado opuesto a la transmisión.

9. Vuelve a instalar el protector del motor. Utiliza la llave Allen
de 3 mm (cuadros de aluminio) o la llave Torx T25 para apretar los tornillos a 5 Nm.

Reinstalación de la batería RIB y comprobación del mecanismo de liberación del conjunto de la batería Range Boost
1. Vuelve a instalar la batería RIB.

IMPORTANTE: El tornillo de ensamblaje (tornillo de bloqueo) de la batería Range Boost alojado dentro de la cavidad de la batería RIB no debe estar en contacto con la batería RIB o impedir de forma alguna la instalación de la misma.
2. No deberías poder presionar el botón de bloqueo de la
batería Range Boost. Al apretarlo solo debe bajar 1-5 mm.

ESPAÑOL

3. Coloca la batería Range Boost en la base de acople. Vuelve
a presionar el botón de bloqueo. El conjunto de la batería Range Boost no debería liberarse.
4. Cuando enciendas la consola, deberías poder ver dos
baterías y la carga restante de cada una de ellas.
5. Utiliza el conector y la herramienta de diagnóstico Bosch
para comprobar que todo el firmware está actualizado.

Retirez la batterie intégrée amovible (RIB).

Débranchez le moteur
1.A. Retirez les quatre boulons de la protection du moteur, puis
la protection du moteur.

FRANCAIS

1.B. Si elle est installée, retirez la protection du moteur en
plastique du côté opposé à la transmission.
2. Utilisez la clé Torx Plus IP40 pour DESSERRER les deux
boulons d'avancement du moteur. Ne retirez pas les boulons.

4. Maintenez le moteur et installez le crochet en S. Installez
le crochet comme illustré (depuis l'intérieur du boîtier du moteur) pour protéger la finition du vélo.

5. Débranchez le câble de la batterie du moteur.

3. Utilisez la clé Torx Plus IP40 pour retirer les quatre boulons
avant du moteur (2 de chaque côté).
IMPORTANT : Une fois les boulons avant du moteur retirés, maintenez le moteur pour éviter qu'il ne se balance librement.

6. Raccordez l'extrémité B du câble Y au connecteur de la
batterie.

1. Retirez temporairement le crochet en S et maintenez le
moteur d'une main.
2. Utilisez un petit tournevis cruciforme pour retirer la vis du
couvercle en plastique (voir Figure A).
3. Retirez le couvercle en plastique du haut du boîtier du
moteur (voir Figure B).

4. Réinstallez le crochet en S pour maintenir le moteur.

5. Tandis que le câble de la batterie est débranché du
moteur, extrayez le connecteur par l'arrière du moteur.

7. Rangez l'excédent de câble Y (extrémité B) derrière le
support arrière de la batterie, dans la base du tube diagonal.
8. Acheminez le reste du câble Y (extrémité A) par le dessus
et l'arrière du moteur.
Installez le support de la batterie Range Boost 1. Retirez les trois boulons du porte-bidon (4 mm) et les
bouchons ronds en caoutchouc du tube diagonal.

2. Sur chacun des trois trous du support de la batterie Range
Boost, utilisez (dans cet ordre) les trois boulons, les trois entretoises et les trois joints toriques pour installer l'ensemble support de batterie Range Boost.

REMARQUES : Trois entretoises sont fournies dans le sachet d'éléments Range Boost pour les vélos à cadre en carbone. Les cadres en carbone devront être dotés d'entretoises entre le support de batterie Range Boost et le cadre afin d'éviter d'endommager la surface du cadre.
Les joints toriques font office de système de retenue, maintenant les entretoises et les boulons en place sur le support.
3. Placez l'ensemble batterie Range Boost sur le tube
diagonal en alignant les trous.
4. Dévissez ce boulon de piston (entouré) pour réduire la
course du verrou lorsque la RIB est installée. Vissez ce boulon de piston si le verrou empêche l'installation de la RIB.

REMARQUE : Assurez-vous que le piston de la batterie Range Boost se trouve au milieu du trou du tube diagonal.
5. Serrez les trois boulons à 5 Nm. Ne pas serrez de façon
excessive.
Utilisez uniquement les boulons fournis avec le kit. Si une longueur différente est nécessaire, utilisez uniquement des boulons de Grade 8 ou plus.
Rebranchez le moteur 1.A. Sur les cadres dotés d'un orifice d'accès pour câble de
Range Boost, insérez le câble de la batterie Range Boost dans l'orifice sur le haut du boîtier du moteur.

1.B. Sur les cadres sans orifice d'accès pour câble de Range
Boost, insérez le câble de la batterie Range Boost du côté opposé à la transmission.
2. Depuis l'intérieur du boîtier du moteur, raccordez le câble
de la batterie Range Boost à l'extrémité A du câble Y.

6. Installez les quatre boulons de montage avant du moteur.
7. Utilisez la clé Torx Plus IP40 et serrez l'ensemble des
boulons de montage avant et arrière conformément aux spécifications du fabricant.

3. Disposez l'extrémité A du câble Y et le câble de la batterie
Range Boost à l'avant du boîtier du moteur (derrière le support arrière de la batterie interne).
4. Retirez le crochet en S. 5. Faites pivoter le moteur vers le haut jusque dans le boîtier
du moteur. Conseils de pro du montage :
a.En faisant pivoter le moteur vers le haut, faites bouger le câble de la batterie Range Boost vers le haut, et la prise d'alimentation du moteur à l'arrière pour réinstaller le moteur plus facilement.
b.Assurez-vous qu'aucun câble ne soit pincé lors de l'installation du moteur.

8.A. Sur les cadres dotés d'un trou d'accès pour câble de
Range Boost : a.Placez l'oeillet autour du câble de la batterie. b.Rangez autant que possible le câble dans le boîtier du
moteur. c.Installez l'oeillet dans le trou sur le haut du boîtier du
moteur.
d.Rebranchez la prise d'alimentation du moteur sur le moteur.

9. Réinstallez la protection du moteur. Utilisez la clé Allen de
3 mm (cadre en aluminium) ou la clé Torx T25 pour serrer les boulons à 5 Nm.
8.B. Sur les cadres sans trou d'accès pour câble :
a. Utilisez la perceuse et le cutter (ou les ciseaux) pour découper un orifice d'acheminement dans la protection du moteur, du côté opposé à la transmission, comme illustré.

b.Rangez autant que possible le câble dans le boîtier du moteur.
c.Insérez le câble de la Range Boost dans le nouvel orifice d'acheminement et réinstallez la protection du moteur du côté opposé à la transmission.

Réinstallez la batterie intégrée amovible et testez le mécanisme de blocage de la batterie Range Boost
1. Réinstallez la batterie intégrée amovible (RIB).

3. Installez la batterie Range Boost dans le support.
Rappuyez sur le bouton de blocage. L'ensemble batterie Range Boost ne doit pas se débloquer.

IMPORTANT : Le boulon de montage de la batterie Range Boost (piston) situé dans la cavité de la RIB ne doit pas toucher la RIB ou empêcher son installation.
2. Vous n'êtes pas censé pouvoir appuyer sur le bouton de
blocage de la batterie Range Boost. Le bouton ne doit s'enfoncer que de 1 à 5 mm lorsqu'il est utilisé.

4. Au démarrage, le dispositif de commande doit afficher
deux batteries, ainsi que le niveau de charge de chaque batterie.

5. Utilisez le connecteur et l'outil de diagnostic Bosch pour
vérifier que le micrologiciel est à jour.
