Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Sainlogic Professional Weather Station. This user guide provides step-by-step instructions for installation, operation, and troubleshooting.
Warnings and Cautions
Warning: Metal objects, including the mounting pole, can attract lightning. Never install the weather station during a storm.
Warning: Installing the weather station at a high location may result in injury or death. Perform initial checks and operations in a safe, ground-level location. Install only on clear, dry days.
Quick Start Guide
This manual is comprehensive, but the Quick Start Guide offers the essential steps for installation, operation, and internet uploading, with references to detailed sections.
Required Steps:
- Assemble and power the Y-shape sensor.
- Power the display console and synchronize with the sensor.
- Mount the sensor array.
- Set the date and time on the console.
- Calibrate pressure to sea-level conditions.
- Reset the rain gauge to zero.
Optional Steps:
- Configure WiFi.
- Register and upload data to a weather server.
Pre-Installation Checkout and Site Survey
Before permanent installation, operate the weather station in a temporary location for one week to verify functions and familiarize yourself with its operation. This also allows testing of the wireless range.
Site Survey Considerations:
- Ensure easy access for cleaning the rain gauge and changing batteries.
- Avoid radiant heat from buildings; install the sensor array at least 5 feet from structures.
- Avoid wind and rain obstructions. Mount the sensor array at least four times the height of the tallest obstruction away.
- Wireless range is up to 100 feet in open fields, reduced by obstacles like buildings, trees, and metal.
- Radio frequency interference from devices like PCs and TVs can disrupt communication. Keep the console at least five feet away from such devices.

Sensor Set Up
Follow the diagrams for assembling and installing the wind vane, wind speed sensor, and rain gauge. Ensure proper alignment and secure all components.
Battery Installation: Insert 2xAA batteries into the transmitter's battery compartment. The LED indicator will confirm power-up and transmission status.
Mounting the Sensor Package: Use the provided U-bolts and metal plate to attach the sensor package to a pole (1-2 inches diameter). Ensure the package is level and oriented correctly, with the North arrow pointing true north.
Reset Button and Transmitter LED: In case of transmission issues, press and hold the RESET BUTTON for three seconds. Remove and reinsert batteries after one minute to resynchronize with the console.
Best Practices for Wireless Communication
Mount sensors upright on a vertical surface. Avoid laying them flat.
Interference Factors:
- Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI): Keep the console away from computers and TVs.
- Radio Frequency Interference (RFI): Turn off other 433 MHz devices if communication is intermittent. Relocate transmitters or receivers if necessary.
- Line of Sight: Rated for 300 feet, but typically 100 feet with obstructions.
- Metal Barriers: Metal siding significantly reduces signal strength. Use windows for a clear line of sight.
Signal strength is affected by materials like glass, plastics, wood, brick, concrete, and metal, with metal causing the most significant reduction.
Display Console Setup
- Connect the 5V AC adapter to the display console. Place the outdoor sensor array 5-10 feet away and wait for synchronization.
- Insert 3 AAA batteries for backup power. The backlight operates for 5 seconds on battery power only; it remains on continuously when using the AC adapter.
- Keep the sensor and console together for 15 minutes to lock in signals.
- Simulate wind by spinning the cups and rain by dripping water into the rain bucket.
- Follow mounting instructions for proper sensor placement after 15 minutes.
