Installation and Operation
Installation:
Plug the Outdoor Plug into any standard grounded 110 V receptacle. Do NOT connect any devices to the plug at this point. Click the Z-Wave® button to check if the LED indicator turns on and off. If the LED indicator does not light up, try a different receptacle. If it remains off, contact support at ask@getzooz.com.
Before You Plug Anything In:
Ensure the load you are connecting does NOT exceed 15 A. This Outdoor Plug can handle a total of 15 A. Connecting heavy-duty equipment (e.g., washers, dryers, refrigerators, or motors over 1/3 hp) will DAMAGE the device and may cause the connected appliance to malfunction.
Caution: This is an electrical device. Use caution when installing and operating. Remote control of appliances may lead to unintentional or automated activation. Do NOT use this Z-Wave® device to control electric heaters or appliances that pose a fire, burn, or electrical shock risk when unattended.
Warning:
- This product should be installed indoors upon completion of any building renovations.
- Prior to installation, store the device in a dry, dust- and mold-proof place.
- Do not install in places with direct sun exposure, high temperature, or humidity.
- Keep away from chemicals, water, and dust.
- Ensure the device is never close to any heat source or open flame.
- Ensure the device is connected to a power source that does not exceed the maximum load power.
- No part of the device may be replaced or repaired by the user.
Troubleshooting
The Outdoor Plug won't add to your hub? Try this:
- Initiate EXCLUSION in your hub and click the Z-Wave® button 3 times quickly. Then try adding it again after successful exclusion (this acts as a reset and can be used even if the plug was never connected).
- Click the Z-Wave® button 4-5 times quickly when adding, or try adding in non-secure mode.
- Bring the Outdoor Plug closer to your hub; it may be out of range.
- Double-check if the device is powered.
- Find more troubleshooting tips for your hub at www.support.getzooz.com.
Exclusion (Removing / Unpairing Device)
- Bring the Outdoor Plug within direct range of your Z-Wave® gateway (hub).
- Put the Z-Wave® hub into exclusion mode (contact support at ask@getzooz.com if unsure).
- Press and release the Z-Wave® button 3 times quickly.
- Your hub will confirm exclusion, and the Outdoor Plug will disappear from your controller's device list.
Factory Reset
If your network's primary controller is missing or inoperable, you may need to reset the device manually. Ensure the plug is powered, then click the Z-Wave® button twice and hold it the third time for 10 seconds. The LED indicator will flash green 3 times to confirm a successful reset.
Note: All previously recorded activity and custom settings will be erased.
Association
The Outdoor Plug supports Group 1 for Lifeline communication and Group 2 with up to 5 devices for basic on/off control. This device sends a Basic Set command to Group 2 whenever its on/off status changes.
Note: Not all Z-Wave® systems provide direct access to association settings. Contact support if you need assistance finding these settings.
