Z-Wave® Control: Adding a Device
To add the ZEN14 800LR to your Z-Wave® network:
- Initiate Inclusion: Start the inclusion (pairing) process in your Z-Wave® hub's app or web interface. For specific instructions for your hub, scan the provided QR codes or visit www.support.getzooz.com. If using an S2 hub, you will be prompted to enter the DSK PIN or scan the QR code on the device for SmartStart inclusion.
- Plug in the ZEN14: While the hub is searching for new devices, press the Z-Wave® button on the plug 3 times quickly. The LED indicator will flash blue, turning green for 2 seconds upon successful inclusion.
Note: Use the QR code printed on the device itself for SmartStart pairing. The QR codes below are for hub-specific instructions.
Z-Wave® Button: The physical button on the device is used for pairing and manual control.
Installation
Plug the Double Outdoor Plug into any standard grounded 110 V receptacle. Do not connect any devices to the plug yet. Press the Z-Wave® button to check if the LED indicator lights up. If the LED does not light up, try a different receptacle. Contact support at ask@getzooz.com if issues persist.
Manual Control: Press the button once to control outlet 1; double-click to control outlet 2.
Before You Plug Anything In
CAUTION: Ensure the total load connected to the two outlets does not exceed 15 A. Connecting heavy-duty equipment will damage the device and may cause connected appliances to malfunction. Do not plug in washers, dryers, refrigerators, or motors over 1/3 hp.
SmartStart and S2 Security
This product supports SmartStart, allowing it to be added to a Z-Wave® network by scanning its Z-Wave® QR Code with a controller that supports SmartStart inclusion. It also features the S2 security framework for enhanced network security, using a unique authentication code for trusted wireless communication.
ETL Certification
This device is ETL certified, indicating compliance with North American safety standards. ETL is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, similar to UL.
WARNING
WARNING:
- Install the device in a dry, dust- and mold-proof place prior to installation.
- Do not install in direct sunlight, high temperatures, or high humidity.
- Keep away from chemicals, water, and dust.
- Ensure the device is not near heat sources or open flames.
- Connect to a power source that does not exceed the maximum load power.
- No user-serviceable parts are present.
Troubleshooting
Device won't add to hub? Try these steps:
- Initiate exclusion mode on your hub, then press the Z-Wave® button 3 times quickly. Attempt to add the device again. This can also serve as a reset.
- Press the Z-Wave® button 4-5 times quickly during the add process, or try adding in non-secure mode.
- Move the plug closer to your hub if it might be out of range.
- Verify the device is powered.

Exclusion (Removing/Unpairing Device)
- Bring the plug within direct range of your Z-Wave® gateway.
- Put your Z-Wave® hub into exclusion mode.
- Press and release the Z-Wave® button 3 times quickly.
- Your hub will confirm exclusion, and the plug will be removed from its device list.
Factory Reset
If your primary controller is inoperable, you can manually reset the device. Ensure the plug is powered, then press the Z-Wave® button twice and hold it on the third press for 10 seconds. The LED will flash green 3 times to confirm the reset. Note: This erases all recorded activity and custom settings.
Association
The Double Outdoor Plug supports Group 1 for Lifeline communication. Groups 2 and 3 support association with up to 5 devices for basic on/off control. Outlet 1 status changes send a Basic Set command to Group 2, and Outlet 2 status changes send a Basic Set command to Group 3. Consult your hub's documentation for direct association settings.

Configurable Parameters:
Parameter 1: LED Indicator Behavior
Controls the LED indicator's status based on the plug's on/off state.
- Values: 0 – LED on when plug is on, off when plug is off (default); 1 – LED on when plug is off, off when plug is on; 2 – LED always off.
- Size: 1 byte (decimal)
- Note: Press the Z-Wave® button 6 times quickly to toggle values manually.
Parameter 2: Auto Turn-Off Timer for Outlet 1
Sets the time (in minutes) after which Outlet 1 automatically turns off.
- Values: 0 – timer disabled (default); 1-65535 (minutes).
- Size: 4 bytes (decimal)
Parameter 3: Auto Turn-Off Timer for Outlet 2
Sets the time (in minutes) after which Outlet 2 automatically turns off.
- Values: 0 – timer disabled (default); 1-65535 (minutes).
- Size: 4 bytes (decimal)
Parameter 4: Auto Turn-On Timer for Outlet 1
Sets the time (in minutes) after which Outlet 1 automatically turns on after being turned off.
- Values: 0 – timer disabled (default); 1-65535 (minutes).
- Size: 4 bytes (decimal)
Parameter 5: Auto Turn-On Timer for Outlet 2
Sets the time (in minutes) after which Outlet 2 automatically turns on after being turned off.
- Values: 0 – timer disabled (default); 1-65535 (minutes).
- Size: 4 bytes (decimal)
Parameter 6: Power Outage Recovery State
Determines the state of the outlets after a power outage.
- Values: 0 – both outlets turn OFF (ignores previous state); 1 – both outlets turn ON (ignores previous state); 2 – outlets restore previous state (default).
- Size: 1 byte (decimal)
- Note: Press the Z-Wave® button 10 times quickly to toggle values manually.
Parameter 7: LED Indicator Brightness
Sets the brightness level of the LED indicator.
- Values: 0 – bright; 1 – medium; 2 – low (default).
- Size: 1 byte (decimal)
- Note: Press the Z-Wave® button 8 times quickly to toggle values manually.
Parameter 8: Manual Button Control
Enables or disables the physical Z-Wave® button for manual outlet control.
- Values: 0 – manual control disabled; 1 – manual control enabled (default).
- Size: 1 byte (decimal)
