Anbernic RG353V/RG353VS User Manual
This document provides instructions and information for operating the Anbernic RG353V and RG353VS handheld gaming consoles.
The device is a portable retro gaming console featuring a screen, D-pad, analog joysticks, face buttons, shoulder buttons, and various system functionalities.

1. Boot Up and Shut Down
System Boot Up (Dual System)
- Linux System: If a system card is installed in the TF1 position, the console will boot directly into the Linux system.
- Android System: If no system card is in the TF1 position, the console will boot directly into the Android system. If TF1 has a system card, press and hold the 'F' key during boot-up to enter the Android system.
Note: The Linux system's main menu can be configured to directly enter Android on startup, skipping Linux.
Shutdown (Dual System)
- Linux System: In the main menu, select 'shutdown'.
- Android System: Press and hold the power button to select shutdown or restart.

3. System Settings (Android)
Language Setting
Navigate to Settings -> System -> Languages & input -> Languages. Select 'Add a Language', choose your desired language, and drag it to the top of the list to change the system language.
Enable Input Method
Navigate to Settings -> System -> Languages and input -> On-screen keyboard -> Manage on-screen keyboards. Select your input method and return to switch to the default input.
Brightness Control
Pull down the top menu bar to adjust brightness directly, or navigate to Settings -> Display -> Brightness level.
4.1 RG Android Front-end Use
Opening the Android Front-end
- On first use, click the RetroArch icon to decompress resource files.
- On Android, slide down the screen and click the RG icon to open the front-end.
Simulator Interface
- Short press SELECT: Select and switch the emulator interface.
- Long press SELECT: Hide/show the emulator.
- Long press X: Scan and refresh games (after replacing a TF card).
Game List Interface
- Long press SELECT: Game search.
- Short press SELECT: Game setting screen.
- Short press X: Add/cancel game favorites.

Note: Long press the F key in the game running interface to return to the Android front-end interface.

6. Major Settings (Linux)
Access settings by pressing START on the main interface.
- Language Setting: SYSTEM SETTINGS -> LANGUAGE
- Brightness Setting: SYSTEM SETTINGS -> BRIGHTNESS
- External Gamepad Setting: Connect a gamepad to the OTG port, then press the external Gamepad's A button to enter the button mapper setting.
- Video Output: Connect an HDMI cable to the console and a monitor (TV), then restart.
- Identify External Card TF2/EXT: When the console boots with the TF1 system card, it will automatically identify games on the TF2 card and create simulator ROM folders.

8.1 Other Functions (Linux)
Copy Game
TF2/EXT. (TF2) is the card for game ROMs. Refer to Section 5 of "6. Key Settings" (Note: This seems to be a cross-reference to a different section or document, or a typo in the original OCR). When the TF2/EXT. external card generates a system card folder, copy games according to the corresponding emulator ROM folder.
Bluetooth
To use a Bluetooth controller, navigate to SYSTEM SETTINGS -> CONTROLLER SETTINGS -> PAIR A BLUETOOTH CONTROLLER. Ensure the controller is in pairing mode.
8.2 Other Functions (Linux)
Streaming
For first-time streaming setup:
- Connect to WIFI and ensure you have an IP address.
- Press START -> STREAMING -> SETTINGS.
- Ensure your computer is running NVIDIA GeForce Experience and is on the same network segment as the console.
- Press MOONLIGHT LIST -> MOONLIGHT PAIR (input PIN) -> MOONLIGHT INIT (initialize the game list), then restart the console.
Note: If the WIFI connection changes, repeat these operations.
Controller Mode
Press Start, select CONTROLLERS SETTINGS -> Anbernic X360box or Anbernic Game Pad. Enter the corresponding controller mode and then insert the data cable.
9. Device Buttons and Ports
The RG353V/RG353VS features the following controls and ports:
- Front Controls: Power key, RESET button, D-Pad, Left Analog Joystick (L3), SELECT button, START button, Face buttons (A, B, X, Y), Right Analog Joystick (R3), Volume +/- buttons, Speaker.
- Top Ports: OTG port, HD (HDMI) port, Headphone jack.
- Back/Sides: TF1/INT. card slot, TF2/EXT. card slot. Shoulder buttons: L1/L2 (left side), R1/R2 (right side).
10. Charging Function
The standard package includes a TYPE-C charging cable. After inserting the system card and connecting the charging cable, the console enters the charging state. Device indicator light status:
- Green Light: Battery is sufficient.
- Red Light: Low power.
- Yellow Light: Charging (light turns off when fully charged).
11. Online Play (Linux)
To play online between two consoles:
- Ensure both consoles are connected to the same WIFI network.
- Note down the IP addresses of both consoles by navigating to NETWORK SETTINGS -> IP ADDRESS.
- In RetroArch, enter the same game and bring up the menu using the F key.
- Setup Steps:
- Game Console A (Host): Select Netplay -> Host -> Start Netplay Host.
- Game Console B (Slave): Select Netplay -> Connect to Netplay Host, enter the IP address of Console A, and press the START button to connect successfully.
